It’s all about Tannadice, your AIM nomad

808

The stage is set. Dundee United, the club who were last to beat Celtic, stand in the way of their treble ambitions, as the clubs meet on three consecutive occasions next month.  The first game, a Scottish Cup quarter final at Tannadice, is the most crucial.

United lost their best two players last week but they remain they will know that beating Celtic at home will make them favourites for the Scottish Cup.  They will be far less confident at the following week’s League Cup final, Dundee United expectations are always low at Hampden, but pressure will be on the club to win their home game.

A note on the suitability or otherwise of a director of a public company.  In the UK, only the courts can ban you from being a company director, HMRC cannot ban you, any more than they can ban you from driving.  In the UK, public companies are held to a higher standard than private companies.  If anyone presents to you claiming, “HMRC have never banned me from driving/being a company director”, you know your being misled.  The same is true for most jurisdictions.

The AIM market requires companies to have nominated adviser (nomad), which carries out regulator duties on behalf of the market, and ultimately shareholders.  The fact that UK, or other, courts have not prohibited you from being a company director implies nothing about your suitability as a director of a public company.  When it comes to the AIM market, this suitability is judged by your effective regulator, your nomad.  A recent history of financial criminal activity, for example, will give your nomad plenty to consider, as would a recent history of being a director in a liquidated public company.  Far more would decline such a candidate than approve.

Did you hear that midden Chico last night on Sportsound? When asked what his take

Was on the latest McCulloch stamp, he said that it wasnt as much of a stamp? But more of a downward motion of the foot

Superb ? And tae think we contribute towards that muppets paypoke

  2. You know I can see Mike Ashley selling up at Newcastle now. Why make hundreds of millions when you’ve got a slim chance of getting £10m+ (if you can get into CL group).

    Great post.

I wonder if the removal of AIM listing and and subsequent lighter regulatory environment might be in some way beneficial to the king camp.

  4. Good day CQN

The amounts of money now flowing into the EPL are truly staggering, I know some on here will demand Celtic to sign players of real quality, however we are Donald ducked in the face of such an economic force that the EPL has now become

These pages on CQN all to often IMO give free propaganda to the best marketed league in the world, continuous updates of the EPL on a daily basis

Burnley bigger than Ajax and Celtic…………scary stuff

Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore said he had given no thought to the overseas rights for the same period, which have not been sold.

“Burnley are bigger economically than Ajax, which says a lot about how our league is made up,” he said.

  5. My friends in Celtic,

I do not agree that the new format of CQN should consist of individual threads like other football blogs.

One of the main features of CQN that makes it unique to other blogs , is its diversity of subject matter. From moon landings to lambing, all contribute to a healthy vibrant blog. Some call for a thread for personal messaging. Why! Is that not what e- mail , texting, Twitter, Facebook and good old phone calls are designed for?

As for politics etc, if it’s not to your liking, easy scroll by. You have control, and ultimately Paul 67et al have the final word.

Diversity enriches the blog, diversity enhances the blog, diversiity ensures its place as the premier Celtic forum. In no way does it diminish it.

Wasn’t there something recently which announced that all 20 EPL clubs were in the top 40 richest clubs in the world?!

  7. Here’s a thought. Why doesn’t Doncaster get the cumulative viewing figures for all SPFL games. Then work out the minimum number of EPL games to reach the same figure. Our new TV deal will be £10m x that number per season.

It’ll be an improvement on our current deal and is a logical reflection of the EPL deal.

  8. Greenpinata

I totally agree with that. Separate thread blogs are dead blogs. The diversity on this one is one of its strengths and makes it lively.

You can always scroll past what doesn’t interest you.

  9. HT18.02

There was indeed, however it was just surreal for me seeing that Burnley are economicaly able to take the very best talent from Ajax and Celtic

  10. From DanielOConnel18

Reason why the compliance officer hasn’t cited McCulloch, is very, very simple. Neither of the tv stations covering the games mentioned it.

The compliance officer only gets involved when the media kick up a fuss, which they never do over misdemeanours by Sevco players.

In effect, the @ScottishFA compliance officer is at the beck and call of Neil McCann and David Tanner.

  11. Greenpinta- guys sometimes put email address and phone numbers on here, for tickets, meeting points etc, hunmonkeys are then using them to threaten guys and their families, through various means.HH

  12. Stellaceltic

@DanielOConnel18 Perfect example being the Livingston player..Shown yellow by ref but now handed a 2 game ban. sevco are untouchable….

  13. @C_N_Paterson: Thierry Henry gets £4m a year, Celtic get £2m for winning the league. Half of Henrys salary for talking shite on a panel

  14. Lionroars67.

Burnley may be at this moment in time be able to economically out-muscle Celtic and Ajax, however they will never ever get into the table of the financially stable clubs, far less aspire to positions one and three.

    HH.

  15. Hen1rik

The Kelvin Wilson ‘elbow’ incident I referred to was highlighted by pundits, especially Craigan I think,, during the game, half-time and full-time.

A ‘nothing’ incident in comparison to Elbows’ exploits, but analysed to the nth degree, with the Compliance Officer virtually being dared to ignore it.

  16. GlassTwoThirdsFull on

McCulloch found his level when they were in the fourth division. He’s way out of his depth at their current level.

  17. £5.1 Billion for the EPL right for 3 seasons with overseas rights to be added, time I think for all Scottish clubs to tell Sky to shove the pittance they give us, and back to 3pm on a Saturday football

  18. Wouldnt the fact that McCulloch has for years been known as “Elbows” give a little clue to his playing style. Did people think it had someyhing to do with playing the violin

  19. Rowley Birkin QC on

If the skint monkeys have already flogged the agm tent they could always hold the egm in a pair of Boydkenkos shorts —room for everhun in there!

Drat, I always thought it was the answer to the question, “What can’t you touch your own nose with?”

  21. prestonpans bhoys on

    Dessybhoy,

Agree 100% Now that most of clubs, except one, have fixed their finances then time to tell Sky to sod off. More money from a 3pm Saturday kick off!

  22. Is this no when wee chick asks “Carrick Dale” to tell everybody what a stand-up guy

    “Big Lee” is?
