JOTA EXIT AS ‘TERMS AGREED’ REPORT

CELTIC fans’ favourite Filipe Jota has reportedly “agreed terms” on a sensational move to Saudi Arabia.

The Portuguese winger, who cost £6.5million when he signed a permanent deal from Benfica last summer after an impressive loan season, is allegedly on his way to join Al-ittihad.

Jota is said to be ready to team up with Real Madrid legend Karim Benzema in the cash-rich Saudi Pro League.

According to Alkass Channel, Al-Ittihad have agreed on personal terms with Jota. They say “all terms and details of the contract” have got the go-ahead with the player although a few “minor details” between the teams remain to be thrashed out.

The flamboyant flanker was an immediate hit with the Hoops support and still have four years to run on his contract.

The Saudis have been making dramatic moves in the transfer market with Cristiano Ronaldo joining Al Nassr from Manchester United in January.

Since then, Benzema, N’Golo Kante, Ruben Neves, Kalidou Koulibaly and Edouard Mendy have continued the trend and, if the reports are accurate, Jota is about to join the star trek.

The report does not mention the fee Celtic can expect for one of their key players who brought the world record eighth treble-winning season to a completion with the third goal in the 3-1 Scottish Cup Final triumph over Inverness Caley Thistle earlier this month.
