Jozo and stupid mistakes

687

Success in football often comes down to who doesn’t make mistakes at the back.  For all France’s pace on the break, it was their sheer solidity at the back which saw them through the World Cup.  England reached the semi-final, with little more than a mid-table select, but they made remarkably few mistakes, and just as importantly, understood the importance of set-pieces – don’t give them away and exploit them when you get them.

Viewed through the prism of an educational World Cup, Jozo Simunovic’s chest-high Alashkert was worthy of a red card on the basis of sheer stupidity.  It was an intolerable mistake, a relic of a former era.

That Uefa doubled his suspension to two game is no surprise.  Perhaps they have a stupidity threshold.

“I don’t know what I find more laughable; the fact that Celtic cannot find £500,000 from their biscuit tin to sign a proven talent like John Spencer

*I believe wee bluenose spencer had an uncle that was well known among the sooside Tim community.

  3. BMCUWP….

I’ve noticed of late the peacock affect with the huns since stevie g took on the mantle of doom in work.

There’s no fool like a hun fool blinkered by their superiority myth.

After watching Celtic in the second half on Wednesday and the way we played, it was a joy.

I’m going to have some fun with thems this season….

Starting with a punt on them getting pumped on Thursday.?????

That’s what a number of us have been saying,mate-and why we were so vociferous about signing a CH.

But apparently, everything is still for the best in in this best of all possible worlds.

  6. BMCUWP,

They really are getting cocky again, the wee groups of thems, which I’ve not seen since they were put down( literally deid) are growing.

I ask thems how do feel about players walking away when in need and you welcome them back with open arms!

Response… anything to stop yous getting ten in a row.

Oh well, its going to happen.????

In my old work (Hmrc) us Celtic fans in the office referred the Huns gathering together instead of the huddle it was known as the “Sevco cuddle” they would gather together and whisper away to each other … pitied more than mocked, although mocking them in moderation is quite enjoyable :-)

  8. Sevcoites go on about us being obsessed with them. When in fact they are obsessed with us and stopping us. Instead of focussing on getting their own house in order they cannot see by stopping 10 IAR, and it is eating them up.

Don’t know why, but I found myself reading the Celtic Wiki about George Connelly – such a sad story.

*I was sitting in a Wimpey hut on a site called Redburn in Bonhill around 1973. One of the brickies of the Tim persuasion said out loud in a wind up manner, “cannae believe their comparing George Connolly with Beckenbauer”, cue the small amount of bluenoses sniggering in the background

I responded “nae kidding big man”, this caused heads to be raised with a young Tim like me saying that “George is better than him”, huns were apoplectic with rage by now.

BIg packy The boroughs site in Cumbernauld was at first taken over by oki.they moved site down the road from irn bru factory. The boroughs site is now Wardpark film studios where they make the outlander series

*didnae know they were no longer around; most of my Cumbernauld family who migrated through there with Burroughs are no longer around. I loved the place as a bhoy, used tae go there for my summer holidays lol, like any young lad lots of fun on the building sites.

Mass was said in the priests house during the week and on a Sunday in a flat above a cafe in the village, they weren’t too enamored at having tae turn off the jukebox when it was on.

I was at the party on a Sunday for the official opening of the plant; buses were run through from the Vale of Leven area as the workers were still commuting until their houses were finished.

I have only been in Kirkintilloch twice in my life, that Monday morning was the 1st time as the workers bus took me back tae the Vale dropping me off at St Mary’s.

Outlander is a big favourite with the younger TTs over here, in fact on our trip hame last year we travelled tae Culloden via Glencoe going through Fort William, Fort Augustus etc. based on watching that series

A jolly wheeze would be for some budding, or full blown entrepreneur to secure a container load of Turkish Hummell tops to sell to the Sevco market, in stalls and bazaars throughout the W. of Scotland and beyond.

Think of the joy and gladness of heart emanating from the Club’s board as they gaze out on a sea of orange and diagonal striped shirts, safe in the knowledge that not one thin dime would have entered their coffers for the purchase of same.

A further sting in the tail would be when, or if, they have an official sale date, their customers will already be resplendently attired in the fine colours.
