NEW Bhoy Jozo Simunovic will be a massive star at Celtic – that’s the verdict of former Rangers player Dado Prso.
The ex-Ibrox striker is giving his fellow-Croat full backing as the defender settles into life at the SPFL champions after his £5.5million move from Dinamo Zagreb.
The centre-half has made only one appearance – the 2-2 opening Europa League encounter against Ajax in Amsterdam.
Injury has kept him on the sidelines since although boss Ronny Deila hopes to have him in first team action in the near future.
However, Prso has no doubts that a fully-fit Simunovic will be a great boost for the Parkhead side. He has watched the youngster progress through the ranks at Dinamo.
He said: “Simunovic is a physical defender and a strong guy who is highly rated back home.
“Technically, he is better than someone like former Celtic centre-half Bobo Balde. I played against him several times during my career at Ibrox.
“I am sure that if he is given time, Jozo will become a big player for Celtic and the support will like what they see.”
Prso played with Rangers before the club died in 2012.
