Kazaks disparage Neil, Celtic preparations. Charlotte Fakes

1247

Shakhter seem convinced they will eliminate Celtic tomorrow.  Their friendly journalist explained why to Kazak readers today:

“Despite winning comfortably enough in the capital last Tuesday, Celtic remain confident of overturning the deficit in Albion (sic).  Getting to the group stage is not a forbidden dream for Shakhter, it is their right as a result of recent domestic success.

“Shakhter have the mining spirit of resilience, respect and strict discipline.  Glasgow also has a long mining tradition but Margaret Thatcher closed the mines in the 1980s (!).  Since then, Glasgow people lost their previous spirit once and for all.

“Neil Lennon was unprepared and the Celtic defenders unable to do the job in Astana.  Just like BATE Borisov, they think they will overcome the result in the second leg.  Just like BATE they are still unprepared for Shakhter.

“Albion’s (sic) best managers are from Glasgow, Busby, Ferguson, Stein, Shankley, Dalglish, Moyes, but the current Celtic leadership chose a man from Ireland, Neil Lennon, who is permanently under fire from fans of the “Celts”.

“Celtic have an epidemic of injuries.  Stokes, Commons, Forrest, Boerrigter, Kayal and Samaras.

“The referee is from Norway.  Scandinavians appreciate a tough fight.  The game is a very sensitive, contact, martial arts sport.  Svein Moen will understand.

“Before the game in Astana Neil Lennon said Shakhter play a very British style.  Why wasn’t he able to find an antidote to this?  Maybe he got Shakhter completely wrong.

“Karagandy’s three central defenders are impenetrable.  They close down space and do not interfere with each other.

“The “Catholics” refuse to acknowledge that Shakhter did not miss a ball against them in the first leg.  They think that because they can from 0-2 down against Inverness they can do the same against Shakhter.  This is unacceptable.  It will seem more absurd if the Miners open their account in Glasgow.

“In defeating BATE, Shakhter have already eliminated a higher seed than Celtic.”

Leave nothing in the dressing room, Celtic.

Charlotte Fakes

When I started Celtic Quick News in 2004 I had neither contacts nor inside information.  I started writing about the accounts, which was hugely consequential but, at the time, largely ignored public information.  Soon after the blog gained some momentum this changed.  People would come to me with information and views which were used to direct articles.

It only took a matter of weeks to go from zero contacts to having a network of people feeding into the blog.

I have no idea how Charlotte Fakes acquired some of her early information but, with doubts over the matter, it is understandable that the media was hesitant at touching it under the shadow of Leveson.

The Charlotte Fakes story has moved on, recent revelations have nothing whatsoever to do with Mr Whyte’s mailbox.  We are now in the territory of cast iron whistle-blower information.  She has her own network of people feeding legally acquired information, which the whistle-blower believes is in the public interest to reveal.

Some people in the game have had their snouts in the trough for so many decades a reservoir of resentment has built up against them among those who were once collaborators but are now cast aside.  You are reading the fruits of this on Charlotte Fakes.

The only question is, while the rest of the world has a new-found appreciation of the value of whistle-blowers, are ‘all the president’s men’ still prepared to look the other way in Scotland?

    Hi – am a first time poster on here although I’ve been reading the website on a daily basis for a while now.

    I also read the CF twitter feed as well and although insightful and interesting I don’t really see the point in getting excited about it as its not as if anyone at Ibrox or the sfa will be brought to task over some of things that Charlotte has found….or new inquiries to get them kicked out will be set up

    Unless of course I’m completely missing something here…..

    Only a hun would miss the point here. Are you a hun?

  5. It was indeed a very sad day in Albion (Rovers?), when Thatcher closed down the last mine in Glesga!

    Glesga-born ex-miners Jock Stein, Matt Busby and Bill Shankly liked to unwind with a leisurely game of fitba after a shift down the pit, still wearing their work boots.

    …and they never slaughtered any sheep either underground or before kick-off!

    Joy for stricken youngster Mackenzie Furniss as Government agrees to fund £160k towards her cancer treatment

    Mackenzie now has a real chance of survival

    By Dailyrecord | 27 Aug 2013 08:11

    SCHOOLGIRL Mackenzie Furniss was celebrating yesterday after the Scottish Government stepped in to fund her cancer treatment.

    The nine-year-old’s family have been desperately trying to raise £350,000 for a life-saving stem cell transplant in Germany.

    But Ministers have agreed to pay £160,000 so a doctor from the German hospital can come to Scotland to treat Mackenzie.

    The schoolgirl’s mum Kimberley, 29, said yesterday: “She will be getting the stem cell transplant in Scotland.

    “It’s all just brilliant. We will be keeping the fund going but it is just such a relief.”

    Mackenzie has an advanced form of the childhood cancer neuroblastoma.

    There is no treatment available in Britain but the pioneering stem cell therapy in Germany offers real hope.

    Mackenzie was due to start treatment at the beginning of September. But her family were racing against time to come up with the money.

    Now, the schoolgirl, of Sauchie, Clackmannanshire, will be given the first part of her treatment at Yorkhill children’s hospital in Glasgow.

    The family will still need to find £150,000 for Mackenzie to have follow-up treatment in Germany.

    But their fundraising drive total already stands at £112,000. And with the continued generosity of Scots and well-wishers around the world, they should make the total.

    Mackenzie’s local MSP Keith Brown wrote to Scots Health Secretary Alex Neil about the schoolgirl’s plight.

    Brown said: “I was delighted to receive confirmation that following discussions with Yorkhill and the German medical facility who offer the trial treatment, around 90 per cent of the cost will be met by the NHS and that Mackenzie will be able to be treated in Scotland.”

    A Scottish Government spokesman added: “We welcome the news that Mackenzie is to receive the first part of her treatment at Yorkhill which will be funded locally by the NHS.”

    Ayrshire schoolgirl Vanessa Riddle was given the all-clear from cancer after having the Haplo stem cell treatment at the hospital, near Stuttgart.

    Yesterday, the Record told how her dad Chris, from Troon, called on the NHS to fund treatment for kids such as Vanessa, 13, and Mackenzie.

    Chris, 43, said it was degrading to have to beg for money to save a child’s life.

    German professor Peter Lang has 25 kids on the Haplo trial. Six out of nine children who have completed the trial are in complete remission or have improved drastically.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Mackenzie is nearer to the treatment she needs,but the fund still needs every penny.
    I saw a survey last year had Sevilla’s fans as second most disliked among the fans of other Spanish clubs. Second only to R Madrid. I use to go to watch Betis when I lived in Spain and I always understood that a lot of the wealthier people supported Sevilla.
    I would tend to agree mate. Auldheid mentioned the latest CF stuff last night and pointed out that an enquiry should be held. I don’t disagree with him either, but I asked who would call for such an enquiry? Given all that we have seen over the last 2 years it’s clear that nothing will happen. The game in Scotland is as much of a stitch up as you could imagine. The SFA should be held accountable but they won’t be. This is a body that receives public funding and that alone should mean maximum transparency. But like you, I won’t be holding my breath. Kudos to all the Internet Bampots who keep it in the spotlight.
    Just calling it as I see it – part of feels we now need to move on from the whole saga and the part of me still wants the whole corrupt game in this country to be exposed but unless new avenues open up for the later ( with actions not words) it’s maybe time to move on IMHO
  21. Pretty shocked to read story of Seville Fans. Seville fans Claim to be anti fascist and anti racist, Obviously the antics reported if accurate contradict that claim. Funnily enough as there has been talk on the blog re mine workers, Seville FC was founded by British Mine Workers who worked in that area, hence the British FC part of their name. Their rivals in Seville, Real Betis would be considered the more “working class” team.
