Key decision of the year for Neil Lennon

1418

If you thumb through the pages of the Celtic Quick News comments section you’ll find a couple of overlapping areas of indifferent form being reported.  One for Beram Kayal and one for the team as a whole.  You’ll also note several contributors commenting that Beram’s form improved after his new contract was signed, settling speculation surrounding the player.

It may be coincidental that Beram’s form seemed to pick up after his future was settled but the fact that this happened a few days after the pivotal 3-3 draw at Kilmarnock suggests a whole lot of what has been going right at Celtic was linked to the Israeli’s form in this crucial central midfield area.

Neil Lennon has a huge tactical decision to make.  Get it wrong and he will not be able to replicate the impressive run of 10 consecutive wins.  Before making a decision, a good place to research would be videos of Celtic’s run up to and including that Kilmarnock game.  Knowing some of the things to avoid is a good start.

My belief has been always to get independence … SNP is the only party to have put this forward. I would then vote for the best party that I believed would drive us forward. Folk need to realise the Labour party would change and even the tories would change. We need to see what is published in a few weeks time in the proposal before we slag it off. I am hoping that it will outline how we will fit into the European Union as a whole and my hope is also it will not include a monarchy,.

I believe we need to make a clean cut. The problem is our old media are and will scarmonger… We have labour leaders on backing up tories and taking cheap shots on personalities. We had a Scottish labour guy on QT last night making an ar*e of himslef when a point was tryignt o get made he kept goign on about the Gourock Ghirl. For F’ sake we are debating about the most important thing in Centuries and we have ‘leaders of our country’ acting like 12 year olds.

We have a guy who could not beat Gordon Brown and win an election trying to dictate to us. How many votes did they get up here?

    What is your prefernece?

If any Premiership team goes for Ki, they will know they will cash in big time.

Ki will only be sold for absolute top dollar.

And that will be upwards of £10Mill IMO.

There will not be any players leaving this transfer window IMO, first team squad anyway. A hungry up and coming striker should be added to make sure of the title and to also bed in for next seasons attack on the CL qual/CL.

    Maya Angelou

You may write me down in history

    With your bitter, twisted lies,

You may trod me in the very dirt

But still, like dust, I’ll rise.

    Does my sassiness upset you?

Why are you beset with gloom?

‘Cause I walk like I’ve got oil wells

    Pumping in my living room.

Just like moons and like suns,

    With the certainty of tides,

    Just like hopes springing high,

    Still I’ll rise.

Did you want to see me broken?

    Bowed head and lowered eyes?

    Shoulders falling down like teardrops.

    Weakened by my soulful cries.

    Does my haughtiness offend you?

Don’t you take it awful hard

‘Cause I laugh like I’ve got gold mines

Diggin’ in my own back yard.

You may shoot me with your words,

You may cut me with your eyes,

You may kill me with your hatefulness,

But still, like air, I’ll rise.

    Does my sexiness upset you?

Does it come as a surprise

That I dance like I’ve got diamonds

At the meeting of my thighs?

Out of the huts of history’s shame

    I rise

Up from a past that’s rooted in pain

    I rise

I’m a black ocean, leaping and wide,

Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.

Leaving behind nights of terror and fear

    I rise

Into a daybreak that’s wondrously clear

    I rise

Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,

I am the dream and the hope of the slave.

    I rise

    I rise

    I rise.

The only 1st team player I would not shed tears over is Ki…it would have been 2 before SB signed again…

I’d sell him at anything north of £5m and buy a striker who could come in and make an immediate challenge to Stokes and Hooper… Right now they have too little competition and we are vulnerable if either is injured…

Failing resource materialising through sales… It’s Sutton or Skacel as back up …even Gary Harkins from Kilmarnock?

    GL2,

mate… I can’t argue about politics, because there isn’t one to be had

“we have ‘leaders of our country’ acting like 12 year olds”

This is true of all parties. Worse, they treat the electorate – you and I – like 12 year olds. This isn’t a nihilistic rant, merely an observation of the calibre of our current crop of politicians. We get what we deserve unfortunately. AS is streets ahead of Cameron or anybody he can put up – he will eat them. AS’s judgement however, in terms of social changes, is suspect – I don’t need to expand on that. He’ll get at least Devo-Max if not independence.

I used to be a nationalist, because I believed that Scotland had a more socialist electorate than the UK as a whole. I’m not so sure now – I suspect there is a latent right wing in Scotland who won’t vote for the tories but would vote right of centre in an independent Scotland, depending on how a party of that hue pitch their policies.

What is my preference? If the SNP had demonstrated a clear political philosophy that was evidenced based an forward looking, they would have my vote – as they had in the past. Not now I’m afraid.

As to who I’d vote for – haven’t a clue

We need a target-man striker NOW,to secure the league.

Has to be now,as we need to ‘bed’ him into the team,so we can navigate the CL qualifiers, especially as Brown and Forrest have had their heads turned by this GB Olympic nonsense.

If this pair persist with their notions of swanning around at the Olympics,at the expense of Celtic’s ambitions, they should lose their places to our up and coming Under 19s…McGeouch should be alternated with Forrest now,and Brown’s performances do not justify his automatic selection on the right flank.

In an ideal world our vote is based on policy and belief.. In reality it is heavily influenced by the prospective leader…. I’m no fan of SNP or Salmond but I don’t find alternative leaders credible right now…

  13. All,

Looking forward to going to the game tomorrow. Despite our recent great run that has seen us turn 17 points, I don’t think we can have any complacency or expect DUFC to turn up and just roll over. Tomorrow will be another real test for us and we will need to be focussed! To use the new football cliche we will need to, ‘boss the game’! We also need the crowd to do their bit – of course within the the rules as set out by the club! :O)

In reality we have 2 or 3 votes.

The first vote is do you want independence yes or no (Im against Devo max)

If yes then we then have the parties campaigning to get our vote and take us forward as a new country

If No we then vote Tory

I will say it again an Independence vote is not a vote for SNP. People need to realise that

For all my views, I have nothing but questions. I’ve read Marx, and he proposes that communism will be a natural result of human social evolution – i.e. it can’t be encapsulated in a nation or state, but something that humanity will ultimately transcend to.

But, for me, he doesn’t adequately answer the problem of incentive – placing it in an educational context, and relying on an intellectual, rather than material, need for fulfilment. This ignores some of the baser human instincts that we all know ill prevail in any society. And, even as a socialist, I’m as sick as anybody about the spongers we see every day. Balance that against the billionaires that make their money, and hide it to avoid taxes, on a worldwide and corrupt betting market and you see where my confusion comes in.

Celtic have a good record in developing talent.

    No More Songs

    Joe Heaney

I will sing no more songs: the pride of my country I sang

    Through forty long years of good rhyme, without any avail;

And no one cared even as much as the half of a hang

For the song or the singer, so here is an end to the tale.

If a person should think I complain and have not got the cause,

Let him bring his eyes here and take a good look at my hand,

Let him say if a goose-quill has calloused this poor pair of paws

Or the spade that I grip on and dig with out there in the land?

When the great ones were safe and renowned and were rooted and tough,

Though my mind went to them and took joy in the fortune of those,

And pride in their pride and their fame, they gave little enough,

Not as much as two boots for my feet, or an old suit of clothes.

I ask a Craftsman that fashioned the fly and the bird,

Of the Champion whose passion will lift me from death in a time,

Of the Spirit that melts icy hearts with the wind of a word,

That my people be worthy, and get, better singing than mine.

I had hoped to live decent, when Ireland was quit of her care,

As a bailiff or steward perhaps in a house of degree,

But my end of the tale is, old brogues and old britches to wear,

So I’ll sing no more songs for the men that care nothing for me.

This was one thing “Dressed like thatcher” understood in a more sophisticated way than you American lovers. For this reason the undertones will always be superior to the supreme courts interpretation of its own American constitution and the Bill of rights. Remember all judges have been paid off.
