Kilmarnock don’t enjoy Celtic Park

575

Kilmarnock don’t enjoy visits to Celtic Park, winning only once there since 1955, but seldom have they been on the receiving end of such a humiliating result from such a young and inexperienced Celtic team. You and I have seen these games – especially in the League Cup – go wrong so many times in recent seasons: Morton, Falkirk and Partick, to name just three.

What we have at the club now is energy and purpose that makes even our experiments seem potent. Brendan Rodgers must have been delighted at what he got from his players.

For some, like Leigh Griffiths, it was another hour nearer full fitness. These minutes are crucial in preparation for the almighty test of the season against Astana at Celtic Park one week from today.

Really pleased Roy Aitken will be around Celtic Park more often in future in his new role as Club Ambassador.  Roy was a huge figure at Celtic in the 70s and 80s, but there’s at least one generation since who know little about him.

Was on the bus to Uni and saw the news about my hero KD on a newsagents billboard, was devastated, he remains my favourite It was in the days before sky sports news.

Funny thing in recent years have played some golf with him, and it is quite bizarre to be a 60 + guy playing golf with your boyhood hero. Never fully come to terms with it to be honest. But really good guy as well as the King!!

  2. When we used to complain that Police dont react when faced with thousands of Billy Boy singers one of the arguments was “can’t wade in and arrest all of them”. Accepted to a point but I never understood why they didnt just arrest ‘some’ of them.

So why would our own custodians ban an entire section when later developments suggest that they knew which particular individuals had actually done something (allegedly) wrong?

Apologies, I was, just kidding about H.T. description of you, I should have made that more obvious. It was only later, after racing, I noticed you posting that you had been that night, now I’m wondering if it was the other guy and I’m totally mixed up. It was the night the Bay City Rollers were on at the end of racing, hence never to be forgotten.

After being called out yesterday for foxes and cats and being informed by the moderator that it’s a football blog. I’ve decided to talk about football, Arsenal v Leicester is the opening premier league fixture on Friday night.

Leicester are known as the foxes, their keeper has been called the cat on a good few occasions. :-))

Get wee Paddy in before next week on a permanent deal and I’m sure he will pay for himself in 2 games.

If we somehow miss out on CL football, he will pay for himself in the Europa group stages.

    Football management made easy.

Plus if we get him I promise not to ask for any signings in January.

£2.75M Loan fee only makes sense if we have option to buy at end of the loan period, and the fee is deducted from Man City’s current valuation of their player. I’m sure City will be building in some sort of percentage of any sell-on fee, or an agreed first option to buy back, so it’s not likely they’d lose money on a player they don’t have a role for at the moment.

it’s not like they’re short of Dirhams, is it……

    Just get him signed, Pedro.

We’ve pretty much exhausted the tax credits from the many years of accumulated losses. Pretty soon we’re going to have to decide whether to run at a profit and pay corp tax, or spend more dough sufficient to do little more than break even.

    I know which I’d choose.

  9. Hamilton Tim raises a very valid question.

Two ‘incidents’ happened inside the ground, one in the Green Brigade section, and one in the Hospitality Brigade section.

The incident in hospitality was a far more serious incident than a cartoon banner in 111.

Before we got to the bottom of the banner issue in 111, the entire GB section were banned.

    ————————————–

The only thing Hamiltontim is raising is his CT skirt to flash his knickers to the Ultras let’s be very clear on that one, just to let them know that the stupid Ultras have the backing of the CT, it’s a pathetic attempt at CT PR job from they’r message boy HT, HT has no opinions, he is told what to do and say on here, and also what not to say.

These two incidents have totally nothing to do with each other and it is complete and utter nonsense to marry them.

This is what you get from malcontents anti CFC board the most negative people involved with CFC are these guys who only have politics on they’r agenda, HT is in what you could almost say a CT James Traynor syndrome club, deflect and avoid at all times, and kid on you have CFC at heart, while you are constantly stabbing them in the back, but that’s just my opinion, and as I said HT doesent have one, a low blow? Nope, just my opinion, I don’t have a committee to answer too.

PS Troll accusations don’t bother me by the way, fill your boots.

It’s just the luck of the draw Ah tell ya

By sheer coincidence the Betfred Cup draw has ensured all the biggest supported clubs were drawn apart which no doubt will result in the distinct possibility of all said teams making it through to the semi finals.

This would further ensure that no matter who plays who there will be full houses at both semi final ties which again will ensure the maximum financial return to the governing body

    Lucky huh!

40 years ago, a young GDT thought his world was ending when King Kenny left.

Wouldn’t it be fitting if we signed Paddy on this dat, 40 years later?

  15. We wont be so smug when the new Monkey supremo gets his “Buy cheap, sell dear”spanking brand new idea under way.You know, this is a guy who had to get out of Manchester fast, because,Man city were in a serious bit of doo doo,for allegedly tapping up young players.Getting in young players selling or loaning out, being a very lucrative part of Citys operations, they were not too pleased when the spotlight fell on some shady dealings by the aforementioned, new Monkey. He had to go.Be prepared for a sh!t load of skullduggery as he attempts to do the same with the Monkeys.Bearing in mind,he will have no such restrictions, like rules put in his way,he will attempt to furnish the Monkeys with valuable young talent they can sell on for squillions.Just what he has to offer them is a different thing altogether.Wonderful breakfasts seemingly the main draw for starry eyed youths. Not enough ,I would think,so the playing fields of Drumoyne,Nitshill,Govan, even as far as Paisley, could soon be awash with Monkey scouts.

  17. Oh dear, the Cup Draw fixers on again. So now we have Chris Sutton and Micheal Stewart in cahoots with the SPFL to rig a draw, that we all watched being drawn,to make sure the top teams were kept apart.Have I got that right?.

A lot of the draws for cups that the Huns got drawn at home were either done by Celtic players, some ex,or Celtic minded people. The last being Rod.How do you propose that they got these people to rig the draw in the Huns favour?.Honest question, because I have no idea.Dont see how it is possible.

Unbelievable…some complaints about a UFF flag flying outside courthouse in Newtownards…and then this…

-Responding to the complaints, PSNI Inspector Claire McGuigan said: “Issues surrounding flags are best addressed through dialogue and engagement between agencies, including local police. Police action on its own is not sufficient – we all need to work together.”

She continued: “The removal of flags is not an issue for the PSNI. Police will only act to remove flags if there are substantial risks to public safety.

“We work with communities and partners to respond to any issue where there is a concern for public safety or where a criminal offence has occurred.”
