  1. Cheers Lhads. Always enjoy Barca, usually avoid Ramblas nowadays but was in Merquat de Bouqueria in my last visit, a great place to visit and I was delighted to see it was up and running again today. #totsombarcelona

anyway how is Pedro getting on with his ” positive combinations” and “offensive transitions”. The guy is comedy gold.

  2. There’s a tiny wee ghost of James Brown following me about and every time I think of Celtic he pipes up “EEEeaaaooWWw! I feel good….” We look at each other and do a wee imaginary high five. It’s amazing.

I still thought Ronny done a job BUT Brendan is a massive step up, I suppose you get what you pay for, over the last few weeks listening to Kris Commons (who I also loved :-) speaking about Brendan it’s a great insight as Kris has been with us and won it all and speaks about learning from Brendan…. growing up and still now my Celtic never needed to win being a Celtic fan was good enough, but winning under Brendan is infectious …. we live in great Celtic times :-)

What an amazing couple of weeks it has been if you are a Celtic Supporter.

Team are playing fantastic football; Qualified for the Champions League with & in some style; Next Generation of Youth look excitiing.

Watching as the team ripped Astana apart during the week I found myself wondering if we were witnessing the moment all the components of the Rodgers Celtic Machine began to clink together & work to perfection. The passing, movement, Creativity, the fast counter-attacks, not to mention the clinical finishing.

It all begs the question of just how far they can go.

Ps Does Brendan Rodgers know who is best team is?

  5. Pog

I felt a wee bit sorry for him. He looked like a wee dafty rather than a fully fledged Hun.

” Does Brendan Rodgers know who is best team is? ”

I don`t think there is a `best team`. More a case of horses for courses.

I would guess that, when everyone is fit, Gordon, Tierney and Broony are the only players guaranteed selection for any very important game. Others are likely to be selected — Simunovic,Forrest,Sinclair etc– but every other position is contested.

  6. Im just thinking why have we heard nothing of the unfair dismissal case for The Hat etc, when is it due?

Auro79 7.52pm (no way I was typing your full moniker :-)

BR knows his best team, he will play it on Tuesday for CL group fixtures

Just my opinion BR hardly changed his first 11 all last season, I think he has made more changes in the last month than all of his previous tenure, again just my opinion the treble last season has gave Brendan the confidence to now chop n change BUT he will play his strongest 11 in every European game (& I hope we have many :-)

I remain surprised that so many people considered ( and still do ) Cantona`s words enigmatic.

” CELTIC FAIL TO INCREASE GAP ON ABERDEEN AND ST. JOHNSTONE”

    Daily Record.

  10. For Celtic supporters, nothing remotely contraversial about a banner stating ” A club Open to all”

Its what we are . A modern progressive club, open to all.

    HH . The journey continues.

I think what he says in that clip is quite logical but I think what caused the confusion was the question that was asked to elicit that answer.

  12. Hot Smoked – I’ve always wondered that. It was pretty simple. The hullabaloo at the time just highlighted the little England mentality that surrounds the game down there.

Cantona was a straightforward chap. The kind of guy who would greet an insult about his mother or wife with a flying kick to the chest.

    Pretty black and white really!!

  13. Our team for European home and away games may well differ, e.g I have expected Bitton to play in the away ties, whether our CHs were inured or nor. Can’t see that being the case for the home ties. Of course, our manager knows best.

As for the young, young team coming through- they begin to evoke memories of the Quality Street lot. All I hope is that we can keep them together this time. If we do, we will have some team.

  14. Twice I’ve watched a bit of Sevco tv this season and twice the commentator used the word ‘bagatelle’ to describe what the rest of us would call a ‘stramash’ or a ‘scramble’. As in ‘a bit of a bagatelle there as no one can get the ball inder control’

Wrong usage of the word. Even their commentary is sub standard last century nonsense.

    Funny but.

    A bagatelle indeed.

He must have the words to penny arcade running about his mind 24/7

  15. Gerryfaethebrig on

I have never ventured into Sevco tv (SSB is bad enough) but remember this….the positive stuff they feed the Sevs will forever keep them in Aberdeens shadow :-)

  16. Simunovic,Boyata,Ajer and Svietchenko plus Bitton, Lustig and Tierney as stand-ins. Do we really need another CH ? I hope the rumour is just that.

    JJ

But if it is true, Brendan knows what he is doing !

  17. ROBERTTRESSELL on 19TH AUGUST 2017 7:19 PM

Not only are we streets ahead financially but it appears that the foundations laid by Tommy Burns among others are now paying dividends.

Robert, I’ve been saying for months now that the Tommy Burns legacy is, first and foremost, in front of our eyes at left back, then the rest of the academy players coming through speak volumes for the ground work done by TB all those years ago. I wonder how many remember the months TB spent abroad, at Ajax, AC Milan and other clubs, observing, learning, noting, then coming back to Celtic and laying out a blue(sorry)print that suited Celtic, taking the best bits from his travels and applying it to a Scottish/Glasgow environment. maybe a formal naming of “The Tommy Burns Celtic Academy” would be appropriate?

It truly is a great time to be a Tim!

  18. Gooood Evening CQN:-)

Firstly, Hebcelt sorry to hear about your good friend Jonny, May he Rest in Peace

Now I didn’t see 1 minute of today’s game, but delighted Brendan has faith in many of our youngsters, and prepared to give them a chance

Kieran Tieran the oldest in our home grown back 4, what an example

Anthony, Calvin and Kristoff ( yes I’m counting you as home grown as you joined us when still only 16 :-))

Also, James and Calum, making me eat my words :-)

    The futures bright

    The futures Green and White

Incidentally we seen on Wed why Olivier was signed, possession, just doesn’t give the ball away, key for European games

    Hail Hail

Oh – TTR, is it Caulker ??? And Paddy joining us

  19. The youngest average age of a top European team last season was Toulouse at 23yrs followed by Leipzig at 24 yrs. Our defence today was 19 yrs. Hh

  20. Popped over to the dark side there, they still think they spent 8 million quid on players this season. Every third post or so mentions it, they are soooo thick.

Loved Stevie Mays celebration when he scored for the sheep.

I can see a lot of players and fans doing it this season.

Imitating Lenny last week with the cupping of the ears.

    Hail Hail
