Yeah, it would be a short list, but I’d maybe put the Terriers’ centre-back Schindler on it.

Just got an unexpected call from my old boss there.

Looking for advice on what to talk about at a meal he had won at a charity auction.

I cannae stop laughing. If you knew my ex boss, you would understand. The two celebrity guests he is dining with. “Wee” Eck Salmond and Neil Lennon.

He is on his way there right now. I feel sorry for Lenny.

I saw the 2nd half of Hudds v Newc, as you say dire.

We would blow them off the park without getting out of 2nd gear.

Celtic have what so many others strive for, we have power, pace and we have the technical ability, done it on a shoestring compared to britland.

For years now BBC Scotland Sport has been an absolute disgrace.

After a full card of Scottish football matches this weekend, the HEADLINE article is one harking back to the Ibrox “glory” days.

    Why this article? Why now?

Simply because the current Ibrox entity suffered another setback yesterday (this time at home to Hearts).

What would the HEADLINE article have been had the Govan lot had managed a home win yesterday?

We all know the answer to that.

The De Boer article would have been wheeled out another time (after the next lot of dropped points, perchance).

Incredibly, BBC Scotland Sport (licence fees anybody?) is now classed alongside the Record, Sun, Herald and Scotsman – to name but them.

Seriously sad times for sports journalism in Auld Scotia…

  6. Just thinking after the last few games that someone(?) said that he was going to have a team for Europe and one for Scottish football. Cannot remember who that was.

As for us, we said nothing and just worked at matters financial and seriously kept playing the Celtic way.

Still unable to remember who that poseur was.

  7. Hunderbirds are Gone on

The only Scottish success story around at the moment is us.

This de bear mince in the media, and other similar guff we have seen over these past five years. It is an attempt by the vanquished to claim status and award by trying to associate with us in any way they can. Old Firm this Old Firm that. Old Firm Pure P*** more like.

See it for what it is, it’s pathetic by them, and it’s funny for us.

It’s funny………… so carry on laughing at them.

    They’re idiots.

  8. and he went to rangers rather than manchester united.

It’s utterly bizarre. It’s almost like they are trying to re-live the Rangers glory days. They must think Sevco getting “back” (sic) to where Rangers were is only a matter of time and they can fill in the time until that happens with these puff pieces and comfort blankets.

The reality of course is that we would be on 20 in a row if they had been living within their means.

But they can’t or won’t see this.

Am sure Artur actually retired in his early 30s stating his wages (EBT) were being halved, so much for all the EBTers would have still have signed Ronald side stepped the issue by saying his financial people dealt with “all that” (tax evasion :-)

  12. the latest podcast is excellent, the highlight being the jock stein interview after the 1977 cup final.

very pleased for johannes edvaldsson, marked johnston out the game, pat stanton is in there like a wee bhoy, and sorry for johnny doyle being left out , just tactical.

    wonderful.

like the other week when you had the snippets of celtic for change, and media from the time.

you guys are doing a great job on this, fair passes my gardening time,

  13. “So Ronald, in the midst of all the pink and rosey memories about the “o** f***”, is there any pang of guilt that your tax evading contract helped kill your club?”.

    Nah? Didn’t think so……! Mercenary.

Mols, De Boer, so who’s next? Must be time to wheel out “wee Doddsy”.

  14. There is only 1 sports journalist really worth his salt in Scotland and that is Phil Gordon. He is obviously not part of the wee coterie of Sevco supporters and those who allow themselves to compromise their ethics to get a job.

The one organisation I personally take exception to is the BBC since that is paid for by the public. I wonder what the powers that be in London feel about their output…….

COPENHAGEN IN TALKS WITH CELTIC OVER SVIATCHENKO SALE

Celtic are preparing to offload Erik Sviatchenko to Copenhagen and sign a new centre half as Brendan Rodgers looks to solve his defensive dilemma.

According to Danish outlet BT, Copenhagen manager Stale Solbakken has been speaking to Celtic regularly this week regarding Sviatchenko’s availability.

Celtic are willing to sell and will sign a new centre half to partner Jozo Simunovic, but the two sides have yet to reach an agreement over the sale of the 25-year-old, with Celtic looking more than the offered €3 million from the Danish side.

Pedant Alert- you would have to add “currently” or “current” somewhere in that sentence, since Norwich, Coventry, Leeds, Sheffield United and Notts Forrest all won their opening fixture in 1992/3 season. Coventry actually won their opening 3 games so have a longer unbeaten record than Huddersfield at present.

Franco Baresi was too small to be a centre back.

Bobby Moore was too slow to be a centre back.

Erik Sviatchenko ain’t Baresi or Moore…….he’s

    just as small and slow.

With a bit of focus and humility we’ll finish the job on Tuesday and qualify for the CL again.

Yes, he looked pretty competent, but there was little to test him. I’ll consider him. Shindlers’ on the list.

Aaron Mooy got MOTM. Probably the second best Aussie playing in UK at the moment. Cost 10m from Man City and never kicked a ball for their first team.

Impressed more and more every week with what Brendan is building. The youngsters slot in almost seamlessly

That said, we could do with another CF. Jamesie tries his best, but he lacks the instincts of a CF – not his fault.

  21. glendalystonsils on

If BBC want to deflect attention away from Celtic, why don’t they do a series of interviews with players of the great Aberdeen side which won the European cup-winners cup ? An honest to goodness ,tax paying outfit who achieved great things honestly and fairly.

Surely there is more sporting merit in that ,as opposed to dredging up players of a team whose success was built upon fraud?

I’m sure Mols said he would have signed without one.

No wonder that “company” went bust – paying all these players money they didn’t even want!

  23. An entertaining first half at Wembley, not a great fan of EPL games but this has been good. Spurs are a great side to watch.

  24. BBC Scotland Sports is a Hun hole, I heard something the other day which surprised me greatly, that a senior person is a family member of a former director of Celtic pre McCann, the output is clearly all Level 5, I do not know why they call themselves journalists, more like interviewers with a set agenda, much like the Press conferences at Milngavie

One of us is misreading the original claim. I assume Huddersfield have never been in the Premier League before so, having won their first two fixtures, they have won every game they have played in it. The teams you mention may well have won opening fixtures but they certainly went on to lose Premier League games. Huddersfield have yet to do so.
