GCHQ know where we are and what we write on mobiles. We are tagged.

You don’t get mobile signals in caves. ;))

  2. Astana are undefeated at home in quite a wee while. In their European history at home they have only been beaten twice.

I would be quite happy if Brendan went all dukla Prague defensive for a zero goals conceded.

Aye, they know everything about us like it or not :-(

Correctamundo, inside the cave there is no signal, strange really cos even with a clear sight of a window or door still no signal unless the phone is next to the outside window, even then it’s dodgy.

I had one a few years ago when I was in Ireland, needed it for work, when I left there, the phone was left behind, but the Mrs makes up for it, she has two iphones.

I would rather it ended quickly, couldn’t handle surviving a NB, you may be right tho, seems to me if they were on the grass you would partake in everything would be hunky dory :-)

Huddersfield and Newcastle are shocking fitba teams. Was the goalscorer an ex Saint Mirren player?

I quoted Roger Waters. A big Arsenal fan, but now a big Celtic fan due to our support for the oppressed Palestine folk. The Green Brigade all inclusive banner for Glasgow Gay Pride day was poignant yesterday.

TET…I would be willing to wager that I would be the only poster on here who doesn’t have a mobile phone :-)

I would be willing to wager that I would be the only poster on here who doesn’t have a television…not for the past 4 years or more… :-)

  8. DD/TET, sorry was watching football. Correct. My language was a tad more colourful :-)

“One of us is misreading the original claim. I assume Huddersfield have never been in the Premier League before so, having won their first two fixtures, they have won every game they have played in it. The teams you mention may well have won opening fixtures but they certainly went on to lose Premier League games. Huddersfield have yet to do so. ”

    Just back in.

You are right that Huddersfied have never been in the PL before but the same applies to the teams I mentioned.

They too had not been in the Premiership before as it only started in 1992/93 season. Therefore, those teams were unbeaten, at that point in time, for one, two or, in Coventry’s case, 3 matches in the Premiership, in the past.

Which is why you have to add currently or current to distinguish the Huddersfield claim.

Incidentally, Huddersfield will have to beat Southampton at home to match Coventry’s record and then beat West Ham in London to surpass it.

I reckon Celtic would hammer Huddersfield and Newcastle combined. Two poor teams.

When the telly coughed its last cough in 2013, neither my wife nor I expressed any desire to replace it…so, I escorted it to the local recycling depot and unceremoniously dumped it…it has never been missed…I have a computer, a camera and a simple mobile phone for calls and texts…hey ho!

  15. Regarding the desperation and “do whatever it takes” efforts by the masonic media in scotland, we need to remind ourselves, that this is their last throw of the dice, the game is up.. and although we still have a way to go to get justice, I really believe we’ll see this through and see our goals realised.

Dont buy the filth, dont even read them, and let them and the world know at every opportunity.

    We Will Overcome. KTF.

  16. DD

On our day we can beat anyone.

However, every PL team is battle hardened and used to a tough fixture every week. The trick to be learned, in an Premiership setting, or any big league, is to remain competitive week in and week out so that you are in the race for the title.

Some very big teams with some very expensively assembled squads, such as Harry Redknapp’s Spurs and various Newcastle outfits, have struggled to be anything other than mid-table presences, at best.

The teams, individually, and in one-off matches, may not be to daunting but we have never had to face that demand to be at a 90% pus level of performance in all league matches. To be honest, we can be off form and operating at nearer 50-60 % and still beat most of what we have to favce, unless they too are on their best form.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating.

Hope we draw Spurs in CL group. Think we would do them.

  18. DD

One off games give us a chance. We have a good record against nglish teams in european competition but playing them constantly week in and week out in the Premiership is a different challenge. In our first season in such a league, we would face the same culture shock as a newly promoted Championship club would. We are just not used to facing a tough-ish team every week.

  19. My brother in law asked me today if I would be happy taking our nephew to an Old Firm Game – I said if you have a time machine like that……

BRENDAN Rodgers could sign one more striker even after Patrick Roberts re-joins Celtic, but Erik Sviatchenko could be on his way back to Denmark.

Report from Denmark suggest that Sviatchenko is set for a £3m switch to Copenhagen after falling down the pecking order at Celtic in the latter half of last season. However, it is understood that while there is also interest in Jozo Simunovic from Burnley, that Celtic are unwilling to sell the player.

There were suggestions of an offer up to £10m coming in for Simunovic but sources have insisted that Rodgers does not want to sell the player, although another central defender could be added to the squad before the closure of the transfer window.

We understand the Parkhead club is happy to allow their manager to spend more money before the end of this and if a frontman was to become available and he fitted a certain profile, then Rodgers has funds to further strengthen his already strong squad.

Leigh Griffiths is the only fit senior striker at the club with Moussa Dembele sidelined and while Roberts did well when he played through the middle last season, Rodgers would not think twice about adding a natural frontman if the right player came up .

Celtic flew out to Kazakhstan yesterday afternoon two days ahead of the return against Astana on what should be a rare nerve-free night in a play-off because they go there with a commanding 5-0 lead which even their opponents admit cannot be over turned.

However, Rodgers will take nothing for chance and won’t ask his players to simply see out the tie, which would go against their natural game.

“We will go over there to win,” said the Celtic manager. “That is our plan for every game. It will be no different going to Astana. We will be in a different state now compared to a year ago when we were there, as we were at home.

“We expect a tough game again but we plan to win every one we play. I think you saw that at Kilmarnock on Saturday, there is confidence in the players and how they understand the game, so on Tuesday we will be looking for an equally good result.

“There is a huge amount of pressure on them. They will know that if they open up and press the game, we have the speed and mentality to score goals. We will have a clear mind. We know what qualification brings and the team have been really impressive up to this point. Now we have one more stage to go and let’s finish the job.”

Every Celtic player has carefully stuck to the script in that the tie isn’t over, which is sensible, but Rodgers insisted he wouldn’t feel the need to remind them that there was still a bit of work to do.

“It’s not really hard to keep their feet on the ground,” he said. “Complacency is something we tend to avoid. We want to get through, there is this final game to go and we want to achieve that. The fundamentals in the team will be the same.

“That’s why we don’t concede a lot of goals. In all our competitive games for far we’ve conceded once, and that was right at the end of the Hearts match.

“So the team tactically is set up to press, be aggressive, not to be beaten easily, either in one-versus-one duels or collectively, and attacking-wise we know we have the game to score plenty of goals.

“So it’s one where lots of people will be thinking about all the conundrums but, for me, I only think about winning.”
