Ladbrokes SPFL-PR warning media to stop title stripping talk

1623

I’m told by a broadcast journalist friend that Jim Traynor, of PR company Level5, started Newco Rangers broadcast media conference yesterday with a warning to journalists that discussion about title stripping was off limits.

The law was that if manager Mark Warburton was asked about the proposed sanction for Oldco Rangers financial doping the conference would be stopped.

Say what you like about journalists, but they regard being told what to ask, or not to ask, as a line in the sand issue. Traynor, a journalist for decades, should have known better than to make such a rookie mistake.

He was told that attempts to subvert discussion about Oldco being stripped of titles is not something that would be accommodated. By the broadcast media, anyway.

Warburton was subsequently asked about title stripping and although he was happy to answer, I’m told, this angered the would-be news-denier, whereupon he “lost his temper”.

Post-conference there was a bit of chat about how they would be able to appropriately report on less-partisan issues, like the Level5 PR-controlled Ladbrokes SPFL, although there was a consensus that “He’ll fall out with everyone soon enough. He always does”.

Delaney’s , hope you had a good trip.

Met Gal from.the Lions bus last night at the Paul Heaton and Jacqueline Abbott gig in Kilmarnock.

    He hasn’t changed at all

  2. Dennytim You are assuming the 4231 formation is workable. And young players will fit into it. I posted previously that I watched arguably the best football teAm ever Brazil 82 playing a similar system and they were pick pocketed by Paulo Rossi. The system doesn’t work.

  3. A good away double tomorrow. Celtic in Dingwall and Villarreal in Barcelona.

    Celtic Submari!

    No we play a 4, 2, 4 obviously :-)

Maybe that’s why our midfield is regularly over run

Lockheed Martin maker of the Trident D5 multiple ballistic missile , BAE, & Thales A major French company with defence contracts in the UK all heavily involved in sponsoring this year’s poppy appeal. It is so unreal almost pythonesque that remembrance is contracted out to these people who build the very tools of death we are remembering

Lockheed Martin are also an IT company that hold many contracts with the Scottish Government, you see that student loan your kid gets it’s LM that does that, want benefits, there you go. Help with grants on your farm or fishing boat, welcome LM. Go to love the modern world :O)

I remember Shug Keevins raving about the man with two surnames Campbell of Ogilvy and our Shug said we have the best administrator in the country in charge of our game… WTF, Hearts admin then Rangers (they were called that then) admin then liquidation…….. Maybe Campbell is better than Sir Dodgy Dave when dealing with the tax laws of this land

  7. Good night all

Make up your mind, we have to few up front or to few in midfield, the certainly aint in defence judging by the ease teams walk through us :O)

  10. Apologies to blog tonight for expressing my thoughts on Ronny

I dread to think where we would be under his leadership in 5 years

And I will support him whilst he is there

On another note, I do believe playing 90% of our games in the SPFL, we could easily play a

    3 , 5 , 2 ? And totally dominate games

    Off ooot now

COYBIG at Ross County tomorrow :-)

  11. I’m in a bit of a quandry, watching the boxing and both the Liverpool bhoys bless themselves, who to support..oh well, nearly over already.

Celtic play with more than one forward ? 3 invisible targets in the box genius………

No wonder they don’t get any service……………………

I am good friends with Gal’s bro in law. A Horse and Barge and Dalmuir train to Paradise regular. Gal married a Celtic fanatic fae Dalmuir. Lovely Irish family the Toner’s. I agree, he hisnae changed.

  14. Anyone Who says 4-2-3-1 dont work…Get This…Watch MOTD tonight..When They Show The Lineups see How many Are 4-2-3-1….My guess

    ..All Or Almost All..

    .Just Saying like…

Corkcelt, I agree about Kieran. He is still developing physically and football wise. I would rather he plays three or four games then missed some games

I don’t want to see him get burnt out. Michael Owen in my mind. suffered so many injuries due to him playing constantly while he was still physically growing

  16. Oh and if I don’t know the team structure, how do the players feel

Cause from what I am watching neither do they

    In my opinion only

  17. BIG-CUP-WINNERS on

All that slow, slow sideways passing between the 4 midfielders and the adjacent Commons is an effort to get the Leigh’s invisble 2 or 3 partners into the game………feck me I never noticed that.

  18. The reason fans ‘feel it’ more than players is, that when things are going ‘tits up’ they think of how many thousands will be in their bank account at the month’s end, and, how soon they will home in their million pound plus house with any number of luxury cars in the driveway.

Then when they retire, they MUST be seen to be ‘even-handed’, and in press terms, that means joining in the ultra and mostly unfair criticism of Celtic, which has always been the norm.

Why doesn’t Celtic employ a PR company? We never seem to fight our own battles adequately.

There are only two people in the Scottish media who give us ‘a fair crack of the whip – Andrew Smith, Scotsman and surprisingly, time and time again, Willie Miller on the BBC.

  19. Question for you punters.I stuck a couple of £ on Hibs to win that league they play in at 16/1 with 365.They are 0ffering me over 50% back plus stake on cash out now. Why?

You have the rights of it. Get two guys up front, not others with a dual purpose, it’s not only wanted it’s required when, as we face here teams who want us in front of them.

Cos if you cash out you will have thrown away half of your stake, just how it works, if they are looking like the might win, you will be offered more, if not, you will increasingly be offered less.

Youtube really is amazing, go from the The Leftovers TV show and Iris Dement singing the theme tune to clicking on Our Town which has Emmy Lou Harris (favourite of mine) joining in and Aly Bain from the Shetlands playing fiddle (used to hear him playing live in the front room visiting my gran)
