Levein: textbook symptoms of stress in the workplace, bank borrowing

276

I’ve stayed away from the nonsense Craig Levein has spouted about Scott Brown this Hearts 3-1 defeat at Celtic Park. Yes, Hearts disciplinary record is vastly worse than Celtic’s, and Levein’s on-pitch assaults are memorable decades after the event, but we all know Craig isn’t the sharpest tool in the box, so why worry, I thought.

Now the Hearts manager suggests Scott Brown deliberately got himself booked, while Celtic were a goal down to Kilmarnock, in order to incur a suspension before we face Newco: “I think if you look and see if Scott didn’t get booked against Kilmarnock last week and he got booked against St Johnstone then he would have missed the Rangers game. I’ll leave you to deduce what that means.”

Craig, I’m loathed to pop-psych a diagnosis on you, but you are sounding like a man with a tenuous grip on reality. Say what you like about a tackle, we are all entitled to an alternative view, but seeing conspiracies behind such mundane events suggests he is not coping with the stress of football management.

Stress is a killer.  If you suffer, seek help before things get to this stage.

Bank borrowing

The last football club in the country without bank borrowing has managed to secure an “overdraft”.  Details are sparse (it is Newco, after all), but we know the facility of around £3m is secured on at least Albion car park and Edmiston House.  I expect whatever they put in place now will be enough to see them through to season ticket renewal time, alleviating any immediate cash crisis.

There are many more assets available for security, specifically the stadium and IP (if they are so far unencumbered).  This show could run for a while, but you know the final act.

“Great news!  We no longer need to look after as many deeds as we did yesterday.”  I’d call that a favourable settlement, wouldn’t you?

Walk on Fire, with the Celtic Foundation

It’s not often you get the chance to walk on hot coals but that’s the experience you can have with the Celtic Foundation on 23rd of this month.  I know I bang on about the Foundation and the great work they do, but you should not underestimate the sheer human experience of getting involved with these projects.

People have sky-dived, climbed mountains, zip-wired from the top of stands and this month will walk on hot coals!!  When you look back on your year/your life, you will recount these occasions.

  2. I have an obsessive personality and am a voracious reader, more so now with a lot of time on my hands, so there isnae much I don’t know about the craft and also their alleged precursor, the knights templar.

Coming from the Vale of Leven which at one time along with Renton had 3 separate ludges, conversely, it also had a fiercely socialist population culminating in the title “Little Moscow”: conferred on the area, I always had a strong curiosity in the craft and its secrecy.

Currently I’m reading a book by Niall Ferguson, The Square and the Tower, which discusses social networking through the ages, from the illuminati to modern day online sites. The craft is mentioned mainly for their involvement in the American Revolution and founding of the country with particular emphasis on Paul Revere and George Washington.

I also just watched a 4 part series on the knights templar on the History Channel, as you would expect it touches on the craft but not too heavily. In fact if I didn’t know any better I would, after watching this, assume that this was a myth about Roslyn Chapel and the St Clair family.

One of the reasons the presenters mentioned for the “survival”, in another form, of the templars was their uncanny ability to disappear which was based on a supreme intellect, i.e. the Golden Ratio, gained from their period in Jerusalem and mibbees involvement with the Essenes who as part of their initiation involved lying in a cave like dwelling for 3 days without food and water and then be “raised” back to life.

One of the crafts initiation ceremonies also involves being” raised”, quite uncannily similar to the Essenes, although not for 3 days I hasten to add. Did this come from the templars, hmmmm.

For most of us any trooser lifter we know of are generally 3rd degree and in it for their own selfish gains, job, promotion, better quality of life etc., thereby they are NOT a service group.

It is estimated around half a million goatshaggers in the UK are disproportionately involved in banking, politics, and government, even hospitals and universities are often controlled by the breest barers.

BTW what got my discussing the troosers lifters was Mrs TT read about the BBC Breakfast show, I said to her did she think the trumpet was one to which she replied, naw sure he cannae keep a secret lol.

He took the questions about Levein in his stride and put Chris McLaughlin BBC in his box the he tried to push the issue. The man is a class act.

  19. Been busy all day, so haven’t scrolled back – so if this has been discussed up the wazoo & back – ignore.

Chris McLaughlin of the BBC contrived to ask one of the most offensive questions to Brendan Rodgers, live on air, in a recorded media session.

Brendan dismissed it initially as a jokey bit of nonsense, but the BBC man persisted, and, actually asked the Celtic manager if he thought there was “anything in” it, that Scot Brown had deliberately set out to foul/harm another professional player. In other words, do you think your captain cheated? Since McLaughlin thought that it was worth pursuing twice it’s safe to assume that he actually thought it might be possible. Such is the nature of lies & defamation – Mark Twain/Sam Clements said it best – that the truth is still getting his pants on while the lie was halfway round the world.

The pathetic, ridiculous & puerile line of thought that produced the question came from Craig Levein. Levein left no-one at his media conference in any doubt as to what he meant & who he was maligning.

For the second time in as many weeks, he shared with breathless media folk exactly what he KNEW Scot Brown was thinking during two football games in Scotland. These “thoughts of Scot” that Levein invented were hysterical, defamatory & designed to continue his campaign to damage the Scotland & Celtic captain’s reputation & harm Celtic FC in the process.

I wrote the following about this in another place – just to demonstrate the shallow, knuckle dragging thought process that Levein used to make his disgusting comment.

“Mr McLaughlin, a professional journalist, asks the Celtic manager during a recorded & filmed media session –

If the Celtic & Scotland captain Scott Brown deliberately chose to foul an opponent so that the referee would definitely book him, thereby ensuring that he would be definitely banned for the next SPFL game against St Johnstone: so that he could avoid a booking that another referee might give him during the next again SPFL game against St Johnstone, or the next again SPFL game against Aberdeen, or the next again SPFL game against Dundee (pause) whereby he might, if he was booked in any of those games, be unavaliable for the next again SPFL game on March 11 against Rangers.”

I only know what Levein is reported to have said, but if the substance of that is true, then the above is the essence of it.

I agree with Paul that Levein is disturbed on some emotional level or perhaps has a personality disorder. He pandered to the worst elements of his own punters & corrupted the gathered media into thinking that his nudge & wink last remark was merely banter. I’m sure he and the media chuckled since it was only at the expense of a man who wasnt there & who is, after all, only the Celtic captain. I don’t believe he was challenged on this remark by any of the media present, which speaks to their lack of integrity & courage.

This is how prejudice begins: knowingly & unjustly maligning another by attributing to him odious sentiments that you yourself harbour on the basis of some distorted & prejudice tribal rationale.

Levein has twice alleged that Scot Brown has cheated on two separate occasions against two SPFL teams – without the slightest shred of evidence. If he made the same allegation against a referee or assistant, he would be hauled up & banned for bringing the game into disrepute.

Why is publicly calling a player from another team a cheat any less of an offence?

We all saw the disgust registering on Brendan Rodgers face when he heard McLaughlin genuinely ask the question. I hope that his disgust is translated into an official complaint to the SFA/SPFL & to the BBC.

If you don’t call out this behaviour it becomes the norm, and we’ve been though enough of that stuff.

Scott, keep calm, but win every game against them.

    HH

  20. If we remember the first game of this season against Hearts, in the pre match presser Brendan criticised the treatment of Ian Cathro and as such had a back handed dig at Levein. The next day after the game Jon Daly came out and slaughtered Brendan after one assumes he was instructed to do so by Levein. I think this is where the Scott Brown stuff stems from, it’s not necessarily Brown whom Levein is trying to get at, he’s got a complex with Brendan.

What he is trying to do is play games and meddle in Celtic’s business. He may think it’s funny and it may pander to his low life supporters but in the end he will look foolish as Brendan and Broony will succeed were it really matters, by racking up trophies.

Why do so many Celts in the West of Scotland expect to see Celtic when they look in a mirror? It’s more than a bit mad to me. Do you know the book Foucault’s Pendulum by Umberto Eco? I like it very much but it doesn’t register a hit with everyone.

  26. Levein sounds like a stalker!

I do not honestly believe that any other manager of lets say, team A, would know the disciplinary points of the captain of Team B, and that his booking against Team C, would mean that he would avoid potentially missing a game against Team D (for deid)
