There are truisms in life. The sun rises in the east and sets in the west, night follows day and Hibernian Football Club will not win the Scottish Cup. However, a failure to lift the trophy since Orville said to Wilbur, ‘I bet this thing gets off the ground’, does not guarantee subsequent failures. Hibs have already beaten Celtic this season and are perfectly capable of doing so again on Sunday.
Before this season Kilmarnock hadn’t won at Celtic Park since 1955, but it happened. St Johnstone, Motherwell, St Mirren, Inverness and Ross County beat us too. All these defeats were against the odds; no more so than Hibs are on Sunday.
Celtic need to get in touch with how they felt after their League Cup semi-final defeat to St Mirren, a day of so much regret. The 90 minutes will pass quickly, there’s no point leaving something in your locker for next week. Let’s get off to a flier.
Many thanks for sending over your Seville photographs, we are planning to pull photos and your comments on the event together into a special publication. If you have any more please send them in, celticquicknews@gmail.com.
Willie Wallace will be signing copies of his book at Waterstones on Sauchiehall St between 2pm and 4pm on Saturday, 25th May. Bet he knows what he was doing that very afternoon 46 years earlier. Get along to see him or order your own signed copy below. This is going to be a great weekend.

Fair point re Utd game, however it took him until that point to get up to operational effectiveness, were he to do that from the start no probs but we cannot wait until plus 90 mins as we could be out by then.
I would not play him initially, and have Watt and Samaras drag McPake all over the park, then consider Forrest.

Not Gary’s biggest fan……but got a
feeling Sunday will be remembered as
the Hooper final.
================================
I sincerely hope so, but if I was less than 100% like McPake I would rather face him than Watt,he never chases down a defender.
The front 3 will be interesting on Sunday. We’ve played very well, particularly in attack in last 2 games with different personnel. Forrest, Hooper & Stokes v St Johnstone & Commons, Hooper & Samaras v Dundee United. If all fit and available I can see the manager picking Forrest, Hooper & Commons as Hooper is undroppable, Stokes always gets left out of big games and he has already said Sammi doesn’t play well at Hampden.
The midfield 3 will be Brown, Ledley plus one. Mulgrew if fit, again another undroppable, if not then Paddy may get a start.
Back four picks itself with Forster in goals. Can’t see Matthews in squad after being out so long.
Forster
Lustig Ambrose Wilson Izaguirre
Brown Mulgrew Ledley
Forrest Hooper Commons
Subs Zaluska Samaras Stokes McCourt Rogic or Mcgeouch
For me, the manager has failed miserably at hampden, picked and excused too many favourites.
Those leaving Celtic park should be give a swansong, and we should use the occasion for that purpose.
Aye JF has talent but us talent has been used as a political tool, or maybe that is why changes to management are happening.
Is the manger allowed to Pick the team ?
Is the manager getting too big for his boots ?
Tony Watt HAS to be in the squad for Sunday!
Imo of course.
HH!!
K33-If Mulgrew fit i think he will play beside Wilson ,decision then is Sami or Stokes?
Anyone who goes to Hampdump on
Sunday is in the tank with the sfa…. and
deserve’s to burn in the fire’s of hell.

I think he’ll play Charlie in midfield if fit. Up front Forrest & Hooper play if fit and Commons is our most likely source of goals at present. I’d rather see Charlie in central defence but I think lack of midfielders means he will play there. I’d also play Stokes ahead of Hooper but that will never happen.
I would go…
Forster
Lustig Wilson Mulgrew Izzaguire
Forrest Brown Ledley Samaras

UEFA are set to announce plans to
award the winners of the Europa
League a place in the following
season’s Champions League on
Friday.
Currently, the winners of Europe’s
second-tier competition are not
guaranteed a European spot which is
not earned by virtue of their league
finish or winning a domestic trophy.
However, in an attempt to increase
the prestige surrounding the
tournament, Europe’s football
governing body have agreed to offer a
UEFA Champions League place to the
victors.
The plans will not affect each member
country’s allotted UEFA Champions
League qualification spots, with an
extra place set to be granted in
special cases whereby a team wins
the UEFA Europa League but does not
finish high enough domestically.
The winners of the UEFA Champions
League are already guaranteed the
opportunity to defend their crown,
qualifying automatically for the next
campaign.
Seville
I went with 4 people. And met 2 more over there.
From that group of 6, 2 are now dead, both around the age of 40.
Life is precious, moments like Seville are few and far between.
I’m glad I was there.

Yes agree tho’ im goin for anytime 6/5
I would prefer if Sammi started on bench on Sunday. That way we are more inclined to keep the ball oe deck as we did very successfully against St. Johnstone with quick passing and movement. Bring on Sammi if struggling
