Liquidation Day

1062

May all the scammers rot and toil in hell.
May the cheated titles fall and may we live to tell.
May all the world forget they ever played.
And David Murray regret he never paid.

  3. Would I be greedy in hoping that Murderwell freefall into the relegation zone and Mullet McCall gets his jotters for his part in allowing Sevco to advance in this competition???

  10. The Exiled Tim,

I’ve heard myself argue for all of those points singularly and collectively, I can’t fault your summary.

But every time I get cynical about the outcome, something happens and we open another door and shed light on yet more murky misdeeds…

When RTC appeared and it became crystal clear that the endgame had started I felt the forces of reaction would just roll them over, and to a large degree that has happened.

I don’t doubt that the fear of ‘disorder’, amongst the non-sevconian worthies, was central to their motivation in this.

However I don’t think they bargained for the citizen journalist revolution, Turnbull Hutton etc. Nor do I think many of them were fully aware of the sheer scale of the spivvery at the heart of this saga, and its’ attendant potential for public internecine war, such as we may witness thanks to Mr Whytes’ latest salvo.

It seems plain to me that a potential independent Scotland which has not dealt fully with the twin issue at the heart of this – to wit the clarion for retreating protestant supremacy (quote W. Smith) and the bullying extremism of a core of its’ underclass adherents (quote G. Spiers) that was oldco, and the corruption of the nation’s favourite pastime to their ends – will be treated very warily by a broad swathe of enfranchised Scots.

It remains utterly compelling, and of vital importance for the future of everyone who lives on these isles of wonder (quote Danny Boyle:)).

For these events – first real potential for Scottish Independence, Devo-Max etc and the recidivist behaviour of those in charge and on the terraces at Ibrox pretty much forcing the great and the good into either supine acceptance or suitable punishment, for these to co-incide is extraordinary.

    There’s a lot to play for…
