Spot on but is it wrong to love seeing Sevco being pumped?
They are the same club when it suits them, with the connivance of the SPL, the SFA and the SFL (see abysmal joint statement on July 27).
They are not the same club when it suits them (when there are bills to pay).
This will not be allowed to continue because it is a nonsense. It’s amazing it has come this far, but as the nonsense unwinds and we attain greater clarity, it’s interesting to watch. And at times, such as today, very funny.

I’m no with you, entirely.
As far as I can see, Rangers are not dead because the official record of Scottish football says they are not dead.
What rangers fans believe (that they are the same club) and what you and I believe (that club died) has not been officially ratified by the SFA. Not only, have they not ratified it, they have gone out of their way to collude in the fiction that they are still alive.
It’s like the mid 80s Soviet Union. Andropov or Chernenko has died but Pravda are saying the great leader lives. No Russian peasant will mourn the lost leader and no opressed Pole or Czech will rejoice at a tyrant’s death because the Politburo are still there and a Man in an Iron Mask called Sevco will emerge and we will be told that Androchenko has miraculously re-generated and life goes on.
That wee diddy club in the 4th division still has some importance for me because it is the official fiction of the SFA, the body under whose auspices we play and depend upon for neutral administration of justice (suppress that laughter at the back!), whose word is law on this matter.
Once the official record shows that they are a new club, e.g. Rangers 2012, treated in the same way as Airdrieonians and Gretna 2008, then I will dismiss them as an irrelevance.
Whilst they remain officially Rangers of the 54 titles, I remain concerned. Had they won their tie tonight and been drawn against us, I can guarantee that I would not attend the match and collude in the pretence they are rangers.
I want to rest easy but I cannot celebrate their demise today while this fiction exists.

As a footnote, allow me to say that I am beginning to hope that Charles Green gets his wish and he has his share issue because I don’t think there is any way it will bring in enough money to enable Sevco to survive.
If fans buy into Sevco, the next administration and liquidation will be at least as complex, drawn out, embarrassing and painful as those of Rangers.
And when the new Zombie Rangers tries to get up and lurching, how are Paul Murray or whoever it is going to pitch a new flotation to their support? What is he going to say, that it’s the same club as the last one but one with 140 years of history with a tiny wee hiatus that no one need bother about?
