I’m in a quandry now, was it huns getting ready for sore erses.

Or was it tims getting ready to celebrate?

  2. The Onlooker on

I am really struggling to find a 3rd candidate for CQNPOTY after Nir Biton and CalMac.

I was delighted that we battled back to take a point, I fully appreciate that we have played 3 games in 7 days on three different surfaces whilst Livi lay in wait.

I also accept that players can screw up and have a bad day, so no point in repeating ground already covered by others.

I do have a few petty grumbles about the small details that we can control.

Nir Biton continually hurried to get the ball to take a quick throw-in, nobody made themselves available…..

Whilst time was running out Scott Brown got himself into a handbags situation with Marvin Bartley. Apart from wasting our much needed time it allowed Gollum to waste further time giving out 2 yelliw cards.

After we scored Neil Lennon is on the pitch ( telling the players to focus ) …. Gollum again gets a little more time to waste booking Neil.

On a general note, Livi showed how effective a long throw can be ( better than a corner)

… when we signed Bauer we were told he had a great long throw, he hasn’t played many games for us but he has never once attempted it , why not?

Anyway, glad I got that off my chest , I can decide on CQNPOTY……

    🤔🤔🤔

I’m giving my 3rd vote to French Eddie for services earlier in the season. He needs a rest, he looks a little off the pace this past few games and looks like he is walking with a stone in his shoe…. Perhaps a knock that he has not fully recovered.

Can we all please have a round of applause on the 8th minute at the next game?

maybe it was for our 8 in a row.

Lol.the chap who sourced this idea tonight wants him oot.’chynjed hiz mine’

The internecine war online is at its most furiously vacant on his tl.

    HH

  4. Obviously, satisfied with an extended margin tonight

Howevva…..we were not responsible for events at ibrox and must look to ourselves for areas to improve

Signings! We make them, then dont play them. We sign match sharp players then blunt their effectiveness by consigning them to the reserves (is that even a thing any more?)

Fast forward to the business end of the season, we talk about our run of games, staleness – all whilst relying on the same core if 12 to 13 players.

I hear and read about our superior squad. In reality, we don’t make best use of it.

Our entire signing strategy has to be looked at.

Reminds me of the wimmin who have 15 handbags and buy another frickin handbag – because they can. (other genders are available)

Anyway, another small step towards 9iar.

    Aff to bed now.

  5. Canamalar it looks like OCD obsession on

    Question,

Apologies I was not clear, the Hun catastrophe happened on 55, check the clock at the time

    Of the Hamilton goal.

  6. Uncle Jimmy,

I agree our signings are a major concern. What is the point of spending millions, yes millions on players who must command wages appropriate to their fees, then not play them.

Just what is the point of that ? It doesn’t make sense.

A wee word about Odsonne Edouard. He is going through an undeniable bad / unlucky patch. He doesn’t hide, he doesn’t throw tantrums and he doesn’t take his frustration out on other players.

My admiration of him has actually increased.

HH to all the journey continues.

  7. CQNPOTY is a difficult choice tonight.

Bitton didn’t put a foot wrong

Calum beavered away, scored a good goal was probably MOTM.

Third choice is difficult.james was OK as was Ryan, but just OK.so I’m left with Eddie as third choice.

Although he didn’t set the heather alight he did lay on the precious equalizer.

But maybe it should be Neil for throwing on Tom to score in the final minutes.

  8. On another note. Just as Celtic pride themselves as a club open to all, this blog also has a proud reputation for tolerance and diversity.

We live in 2020 where the world has changed. Our deadliest enemies are now our friends. Behaviour that was acceptable or even the norm is now not acceptable. Our countries are racially diverse and barriers have come down.

The twin evils of true Fascism and communism have largely been discredited and rejected. The fight against racism in all forms continues and education is key.

History , good or bad is put to one side as we progress and grow as a society.

I often drink in Merchant City, a Celtic friendly area. An area and a city that had undeniable links to the slave trade.

We cannot keep bringing up the past, we have a dynamic future to plan and participate in without alienating any sections of a diverse society.

    HH.

  9. St Mirren home on Saturday

    Sevco away 8 days later

Followed by St Johnstone at home then Hibernian away.

It’s entirely possible the title could be ours before the split.

    Or the Coronavirus shutdown.

  10. After a crazy day at work, fell asleep at half-time with score 1-1. Had nightmares Morelos scored a hat-trick and we had lost.

What a nice surprise this morning.

I think we will be 15 clear by next Sunday.

    Morning has broken 😃

  11. Good morning, Good morning we danced the whole night through….

Goooooooood morning from a frozen Garngad but not as cold as over at the bigotdome -13 I here.😂😂😂

Big Fraz made a mistake so what, I would still buy him in a heart beat a great big player.

Big Julien made a mistake or 3 or 4 and we got punished for 1, the big fella will learn from it, Livi certainly are his/our bogey team. But we move a point further ahead in our quest for 9IAR.

Let’s move onto Saturday and 9 league games to go, and if my calculations are right the if we win the next 3 games that could put the league beyond Sevco????

So if I’m correct we have 3 games plus a semi final, so 4 games to give us a chance of a quadruple treble and 9IAR. WOW WOW

If I’m not correct then I have just wasted a couple of minutes typing that😂😂😂

    Bring on the Buddies

    HH

    D. :)

  12. Awe shit they have a game in yawn.

GG – you called it 4 league games to make it ours

    D. :)

  13. Yawn??? I mean game in hawn, then again maybe a yawn watching Seething G and his Gumtree Galacticis.

    D. :)

  14. The only reason that some are “happy with a point” is because they have collapsed

After some defensive howlers in Europe its creeping into domestic form. Not acceptable.

  15. Timaloy29 – At this stage of the season I will take any win /point from a scrappy encounter.

Not ideal and I agree with your point about howlers creeping in but give the team a break.

They have played 52 games or something like that, ok the squad has been used but 52 games none the less.

I for one am a happy clappy chappie today.

Have a good day, off to scrape the car before hitting the coal face.

    Hail Hail

Good morning Celtic Quick News! The sun is shining ☀️ on all tims…

Enjoy it and don’t be so grumpy…

  17. Mibbe stevie will use that long, long……dreich…………. drive up tae Dingwall……( that’s DINGWALL!) for anurra wee think…….surrounded by the kultural phenomena that is the “backroom staff”……………..

Just think of the banter, back an’ forth….back an’ forth, back an’…….!

    etc etc……

    :)))))))))))

  18. Last Night

Negatives – We didn’t win against a team the defended very well (Guthrie was immense) and a team that tired later than I thought they would. We didn’t have shots from outside the box (timinohio) which I want the midfield to do, but there were at times 15-16 players in the box. The defence looked uncertain at times.

Positives – We are further ahead in the league with one fewer game to play. We don’t have any midweek games to play. Our nearest rivals lost at home to Hamilton. We are unbeaten since the new year in domestic football losing 2 points out of 27.

  19. I am one of those who are happy with a point. Paul67 had it right yesterday. I thought we deserved the 3 points as we battered them in the second half.

Can CQN start a petition to get rid of plastic pitches? They destroy proper football.

Thank you each and every Celtic player for your efforts last night.

  20. I am a very happy Celtic Bhoy this morning.

Its fact that some of our players didnt play well last night, but we kept going right to the end. It would interesting to see the Griffs so called foul on the Livi player…which may have been a Penalty to Celtic , but for Collum to say otherwise ?

For most of my long life, I have often reminded some Celtic fans that being a Celtic supporter is a Roller Coaster at times, but in recent years we have had so many high’s.

I know its impolite to laugh at others misfortunes, but I cant help it when seeing that Hamilton gubbed the Manky Mob at Ipox last night, as that Sevco mob have really brought it all on themselves, added to Celtics fine run of domestic form of course.

They will never learn…their sense of entitlement and expectations will continue to damage them.

So while its not nice to laugh at others misfortunes…

GIRFUY to all huns LOL !

    HH

  21. Haven’t posted for a while but day off so here we go.

Thought it was a good point irrespective of the Huns result as it could have easily been zilch albeit due to our own mistakes. Another game over and a point closer to 9IAR :-)

Now that said there are a few lingering concerns, viz:

Neil playing the same core of players all the time despite us investing reasonable sums on transfers, as a result some look jaded and in need of a rest.

Neil’s subs – imho Griff should have been on much earlier (I’d actually have started him) and JF hooked.

    Our left back/wing back position.

    FF and crosses.

Our centre backs appetite for physical battles against big powerful CFs.

Throw ins (my personal bugbear) as we have no feckin movement and constantly lose possession.

    Ozzie Tom’s reaction to scoring and at the end of the game;

And, something my mate mentioned last night, is there a contractual agreement with Southampton that Mo Elyou has to play in televised games if he declares himself fully fit? Unusual I know but it would explain his selection in the cup final, Copenhagen and even last night. Was thinking that may also be the reason TR looked so pissed off!

Anyway, just my tuppence worth and I’m aff oot now (as a famous CQN’er used to say) with a spring in my step, a smile on my face and whistling oh oh oh…. Sevco bye bye :-)

    =======================================================

I noticed exactly the same thing .

    No big beaming smile.

No rushing over to the crowd.

    Seemed out of character .

  23. Did the young blogger boy and his dad look like they were just about crying there at Hamilton beating rangers . And what about sevco fans turning on a handful of Hamilton fans exiting the lavvy god they really are finding this hard .

  24. Big Jullien has played against bustling bruisers before. In fact the big guy from last night Dykes was invisible in our home games, likewise a good few others. Its obvious to me,he does not like playing on plastic.I have every sympathy with him.Lenny telling us today,Rogic did not want to play on it.WGS telling us all,how difficult a surface it is to play on.Very few times I have seen Broony play well on it.Jullienn getting stick for a poor game last night, yet on an atrocious Turnip field on Sunday,he was terrianyone else.fic.I have every sympathy for players who are forced to play on this abomination of a surface.

What I will say is Livi use it better than anyone else.Punt the ball into the channels, chase it up,HOPING,for a throw in,then launch one into the box.

  25. The game against St Mirren will be our fourth in ten days. As others are saying, why not freshen it up, why have a large squad of players if you are not going to use them?

  26. Tom Rogic not smiling after scoring.

FFS. Bampots. Forensically searching for meaningless shite to whinge about.

Crap pitch. Well drilled team of big, physical players packing their defence and using a route one to Dykes up front. Wimbledon-esque throw-ins that shouldn’t have been allowed.

Last night was about the result and the additional point lead. On to the Buddies and a win that keeps us 16 points ahead with a week’s rest to focus on putting the stake through Sevco’s cold, miserable heart.

    Happy, happy bhoy

    Thanks for the measured response.

For clarity, I am very happy with what Jullien & Forster have provided us over the course of the season.

Last night was what it was. Scraping a point because we shot ourselves in the foot time and time again.

Trust me, I’m a happy Tim. I’ve been enjoying their pain on social media and I’ll indulge myself on SSB.

    Hope that`s the reason.

  31. Livingston man of the match …

Our wullie the comic book referee ,

long throw ins ,is it the linos job to make sure they are fair and if it’s not his half of the field the ref keeps an eye on them ,wee Wullie couldn’t look away quick enough to see if there was a barging in the box by a celt.ok it should be defended better ,but four in a row foul throws and nothing done . Now imagine ,let’s say celtics long throw expert ,Bauer had done that, there would have been a shout from the fourth official to book him after the second foul throw , and this continued into the second half ,so no half time chats between officials about things we missed .Sutton said at half time I wonder if someone will have a word with wullie about the foul throws ?apparently not,or maybe they did and he said “I’ve no got eyes in the back of my heed ye know”😜

Wee wullies man marking of Celtic players as we break with the ball is also another bug bear of mine …but never mind it makes it all the sweeter …

    Up the hoops

  32. RT @KRB_83 The best comment I’ve seen from a hurting bear “teams are taking turns going bottom of the league just to beat us” 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

………spot on, we have equalised, but have not won the game.

    WGS knows, as does NFL
