Lock up game’s tax deviants

887

The football industry is busy with its twice-a-year transfer jamboree this week but there will scarcely be a player, manager or executive in the country who isn’t daily checking on Harry Redknapp’s on-going court case into his alleged tax arrangements.

Harry, of course, is one of the game’s popular figures, everyone likes him, including me, but his evidence yesterday, that he’s been told “The problem with you is you’re named Harry and you have a cockney accent”, will have the nation pondering if he’s another victim of the systemic prejudice against white, wealthy, indigenous-named, senior and successful people from London.  There must surely be a support group he can join.

I’m sure Harry’s innocence will be established but the law and tax authorities are right to pursue any doubt that exists in the running of the game, without fear or favour.  Where appropriate, pursue the guilty through criminal, not just civil, courts.  Only then will the innocent be sure of a level playing field. Lock ‘Em Up, as a Cockney may observe.

Sorry – but I asked yer man a question last night and got an accusatory response along the same “double-posting” lines as you.

He seems to be a devotee of multiple IP addresses and uses that expertise to accuse others of the same sin. Herod = Kit. End of…..

Oiche Mhaith for real, now that Nadal has clinched his semi.

  2. Knoxy2000 ,

    spooky. just logged in. HH

I thought of making a short 2-3 mins clip showing what was involved and leaving out the gory bits . I’ve been giving plasma for about 20 years now and it’s a complete dawdle – in fact , don’t tell Mrs Sanna but it’s about the most relaxed time I have each month . I’m back in on Sat 11/2 so I can arrange it for then.

  3. Voguepunter, no, but that’s a good idea.

Tom McLaughlin, happy to confirm you are neither of the other mentioned identities. Confirmed.

It’s a bit of a trek to check EVERYONE else but happy to check any individuals you care to mention.

    ASonOfDan, indeed.

    @CelticAgents, yes, that works better.

  4. Knoxy2000,

Good to see Oscar eating. Nothing like a mcd’s to get the strength up!

Paul 67, I find something dodgy with old ‘Arry. Not sure what it is though. Portsmouth were extremely dodgy in the Mandaric days, probably why the are a mess at the moment.

I can now continue to enjoy the blog and return to ignoring kitalba’s posts.

    Magnus –

I remember you posting a comment to me the other day about my “erratic” estimate of the driving distance from Gold Coast Airport to Byron Bay.

Next day I addressed a comment to you re ‘Breaking Bad’ on Aussie TV.

So I was somewhat mystified as to what was going on when I was being accused of being you.

Thanks for clearing that up mate.

    Hail Hail

  7. Wee Whytey holding out for £9m for Jellyfish. Must be true its in the Evening Times and on Clyde lunchtime sportsdesk (which reads the back page of the ET and passes it off as news)

For everyone’s sake can you do the same for me as for the innocent Tom.

Sorry you need to be bothered.

  9. Magnus –

That’s it! The Airport is in QLD and Byron Bay is in NSW. There is an hour’s time difference.

So my 2+ hours included the time difference.

    Well, it’s worth a try.

Regarding your article and alledged tax avoidance prosecution. How does this equate in regards to the Rangers Tax Case? Could there potentially be criminal prosecutions to individuals if Rangers are found guilty?

  12. The biggest fear I have for the fore-seeable future is that, Lennons Lions win the treble, beating the huns in the SCF by 4-0 and the huns would invade the pitch on 4 seperate occassions to try and get the final abandoned just like their fathers did in the bygone days of yore! Or, the 1969 SCF in which Jock Steins Celtic humped the huns by the same scoreline Celtic 4-0 huns!

After this treble was clinched with the icing on the cake for me, the huns go into administration, or worse! My biggest fear is that…Neil might be tempted away from Celtic to a top EPL managers job ?

    Hail! Hail!

  13. Has anyone heard from our man in Fife, Tiny Tim?

Haven’t seen him post for some time.

I used to meet him for away games back in the 80s and just wondering if all is well with him.

  14. Tom

You have a point. I was caught out last week heading South and had to add an hour on to my ETA Sydney.

However, my TomTom put me right at the border…!

  15. jude2005 is Neil Lennon \o/ on

I see Robbie Keane and other billionaire footballers have been caught in a investment scam down south. Robbie who has built up an estimated 13m fortune tossed £20000 into the scam after being promised 20% return every month. Heard his wife spends that on shoes every month. What a greedy little man he seems to be now hawking himself all over the place. 20% return every month Robbie?? Come on Robbie you’re not that thick are you?. Maybe someone on CQN’s who might know him could ask him to toss £20k into the Vanessa Riddle appeal.

Im sure he would feel a 100% better in his mind and heart every month!!

  16. Bangura injured again?

Looks like he might have to wait until the end of next season for his big move to the EPL.

  17. I know I sound like I should change my name to Thomas, but the doubts keep coming so here is what I am being asked to believe and my comments.

    1. Her majesty is so annoyed with the fiscal ineptitude of her loyal subjects at RFC, that she is aye ready to instruct her Revenue to inflict financial punishments that will threaten their existance in its current form, similar to what hapened at Portsmouth. All this at the risk they will revert to all blue and take to singing “Flower of Scotland” at every match, before all voting for independance in 2014. Well maybe..?

    2. The SPL blazers not content with that, will seek to apply a further penalties (every match would be nice) by deducting points

(say 20 to 25) at the start of every season for next five years, ensuring a one horse race for the foreseeable. Can’t see it!

    3. Sky TV will be not be bothered paying for a invalid league. Not allowed in the contract.

    4. All the other debt laden Scottish clubs will support RFC being made an example of and hope they show no mercy. Looking for my pills now!

    5. The media in Scotland all back the outcome to ensure fair play in our national game. I give up!

Tell me the nurse will be here soon..!

VOTE YES TO INDEPENDANCE THEN TAKE IT FROM THERE !

It’s after 11pm here so I’m off to bed. Back to work tomorrow after a day off for Australia Day.

Thanks again Paul for your quick response.

    Hail Hail.

  25. Magnus, checked and confirmed.

Dan, I read in today’s Scotsman that the tax case went “as well as could be expected for the Ibrox club”.

This surely means they have nothing to worry about? Hmmmm.

Tom McLaughlin, TinyTim is in fine form, if a little tardy at keeping the blog undated.

Timabhouy, your comments read like political spam. There are no taboo subjects but I’m reluctant to allow the blog to be hijacked for a non-related political campaign. Moderation, please.
