Manager happy with preparations ahead of tomorrow

Half the battle when it comes to PR is not to score an own goal, which Neil Lennon managed to do in his pre-match press conference today when asked about the local ‘tradition’ of ritualistic animal slaughter before the game.  “You have to respect the traditions in Kazakhstan, they have a different culture.  We have our traditions.

“Our scouts watched Shakhter’s game against Astana on Friday.  We know the played a weakened team.

“We arrived early to adapt to the weather condition.  The journey went well.

“Tomorrow we play against a strong team.  It’s important to get a good result in the first game to increase our chances of reaching the Champions League group stage.”

Really looking forward to this one now.

I, like desertbhoy have 6 years on you and you’ve captured perfectly my own feelings – it’s must be an age thing.

    Great post.

  3. Hopefully, Celtic can do it tonight. Also, after some of the views expressed on Newcastle fan sites I was glad they were thrashed last night, petty I know but LOL.

It is looking more and more like there will be no new faces at the club, money money money that’s Celtic plc for you.

James Forrest is a rising star, a quality player who needs more game time, Celtic plc will be rubbing their hands when the 10m bids start coming in next season.

    KTF hoping for 1-1 tonight.

Great night out with friends and one microbrew too many. Not to worry, took Tuesday off for the game tomorrow. Will be watching he game with two nutter Hammers fans, who are rapidly developing a thing for all things Celtic. Amazing what educating Londoners about Scottish football can do. Fantastic post.

I think the difference between the differing views is to a greater or lesser extent generational. As we get older we are less rebellious and acquire a more develped emotional intelligence. (generalisation i accept)

This allows dissention whilst according respect and consideration of the oposing view point.

Enjoy your day sir and the game later.

  14. Morning all.

Very much looking forward to the game tonight. A leap into the unknown in many respects, but I’m sure the coaching staff have done their homework, and the players have had the chance to prepare for what is a VERY important game.

Feel relatively confident that we will not lose – going for 2-1 or 2-0 to the Hoops.

Would be happy with that. However, I would be happier if we had signed a goalscorer!

The opening line is classic….thee ould whataboutery!

GAMBLING probe Rangers star Ian Black is just one of many Scots footballers who break strict rules by betting on games, an insider claimed last night.

Last night a source said: “He likes a flutter every now and then — but so do loads of players.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Broke my rule and tuned in to SSB for 10 minutes last night just to hear the reaction – first comment from Sneevins:

“…Let’s be straight about this, there are lots of footballers in Scotland who do this…”, then some comments about the players’ union providing help for those who are drawn into betting.

Worst thing about it was not the obvious scope for match-fixing, or at least score-fixing, but the fact that “..he bet against the Rainjurs – the fans could never forgive him for that!!”.

  25. I wouldn’t know where to begin predicting a score this evening. Know little of SHakar Lagershandy and their plastic pitch.

For me the main objective is get back to Glasgow with an away goal scored and no more than 2 conceded. Anything better than that would be welcome.

We will know by half time what we’re up against.

Looking forward to it. Hope big Derk is fit. Liked what I saw of him against Ross County. He looks like he could be useful for us away from home in Europe – he has pace, strength and delivered a decent ball in to the box.

I suspect we’ll be fairly conservative in line up and tactics until the bhoys get a feel for the opposition, the pitch and the game. The surface is the least of our worries. We have achieved good results on every plastic pitch we’ve played on from Moscow to Belfast. Elfsborg was a bad performance but the right result. It’s the same pitch for both sides. No excuses.

Have a good day folks. Load of stuff to get done before 4.

Excellent post outlining why we are much more than just a football team. Why supporting Celtic is a way of life.

Alfie 49, Welcome, but why so negative for a first post, especially just before a crucial game. I can understand why some comments ask if you are a current.

Ref Ian Black : I was tickled pink to hear that he has been caught red handed. For all you Sevco true blues down at Castle Grayskull the news must have come as a bolt from the blue.

He is certainly not green behind the ears and how many times has the red mist descended. He truly is not lily white on the park, and how many times has the yellow bellied black sheep complained about tackles on him while trying to achieve brownie points. Definitely the pot calling the kettle black.

Anyway enough of singing the blues, every cloud has a silver lining and Sevco must be green with envy as the CL beckons.

Lets hope our small band of fans are as good as gold as we hope for another purple patch.

To summarize, for once in a blue moon let us hope for a rub of the green.

    HH, Always in Celtic.
