Manager happy with preparations ahead of tomorrow

854

Half the battle when it comes to PR is not to score an own goal, which Neil Lennon managed to do in his pre-match press conference today when asked about the local ‘tradition’ of ritualistic animal slaughter before the game.  “You have to respect the traditions in Kazakhstan, they have a different culture.  We have our traditions.

“Our scouts watched Shakhter’s game against Astana on Friday.  We know the played a weakened team.

“We arrived early to adapt to the weather condition.  The journey went well.

“Tomorrow we play against a strong team.  It’s important to get a good result in the first game to increase our chances of reaching the Champions League group stage.”

Really looking forward to this one now.

I wasn’t doubting your source, and had read that before, just how long it would take Chuckles to write the cheque, if he ever got around to it. Agreeing to a deal and seeing it through are not things Spivs see as something they need to adhere to.

I hope you’re right about the signing of quality players. I agree with selling players if we get the right (large) transfer fee in but we must try to improve team development by ensuring that we use the money wisely to buy in quality players. I’m against buying a job lot of cheap projects. Make sure that the project has been well scouted, carry out the proper background checks and then get them in and work very hard at coaching them to help them fulfil their potential.

First time post, very angry and upset at the lack of vision shown by the board ,we all knew that our top players would leave in the close season. Amateurish we did not have a replacement striker in mind, scrambling around in the bargain basement at this stage is not on. For the first time in my life I am pondering regardless of outcome this season, if I will t let that lot pull the wool over my eyes again with false promises. 45 years it has taken me, far to long to come to the conclusion that we’re being played. More arguments that I care to remember against good friends and fellow Celtic supporters, telling me how naive I was. No More

It’s not every night you almost get to hear Dolphin spoken on national TV!

Black’s a patsy – much in the way that TGEF was hired to be Minty’s patsy!

Earlier – been out for a while – Bada ( I think – apologies if it wasn’t ) – raised the case of Michu at Swansea

He was bought for a couple of million last year and now they seem to want £25M for him

This is supposed to justify us paying £5M for AB who only cost £500K last year

However there are some big differences

Michu scored goals in Spain before going to Swansea – a much higher level than AB ever played at

Secondly Arsenal have made it clear they have £ 40 M to spend on a striker like Suarez

That allows Swansea to inflate Michu’s price greatly

The Steve Jennings arrest was to do with heavy betting from the Liverpool area (where Jennings was youth player with Wayne Rooney at Everton) that there would be a red card in the game against Hearts.

Jennings got a second yellow 8 minutes from time for mouthing off to Referee Steve O’Reilly.

Black was at hearts at the time.

    ————————————————

through all of last season, for me the most shocking result that happened, and then defended by this

” The Motherwell manager Stuart McCall had questioned the notion that his side were pre-match favourites, and he was proved correct as they tumbled out to the Third Division team.”

    Rangers 2 Motherwell 0

    SOMEONE SHOULD ASK QUESTIONS.

  20. Black grassed up by someone who has sat on the information for quite some time, it seems.

I have it said it before …… information is often more potent than money.

I always think of a certain referee who was ultra helpful to the previous club that played at Ibrox.

When he outlived his usefulness, the scandal hit the headlines.

  24. croppybhoy-thanks for your reply,AF scoring regularly in a good league IMO.I posted earlier that with Heerenveen offering AF a new contract,he doesn’t have an agreed buy out in his current deal. His agent will want a payday,i think £3-3.5 mil might do it.All my own guesswork of course :) HH

  25. paolosboots Good Luck Wee Oscar on

TOSB – Yes that would be the right idea, maybe we have moved on from prospects to early stars , i like many others are impatient about allowing our spine to be sold and leaving too much to chance imo , i hope pedros gamble pays off for him & us. That we can fish in a better pond once we’ve qualified, but if we don’t see new signings fans will continue to vote with their feet we are over reliant on fans attending matches and the peripheral spend that goes with it. If we have football the celtic way to watch then they will return, on that note why don’t we have season books on the web that are reducing in price after each match so fans at different stages in the buying process can still buy them? however i feel that many fans think we are being sold down the river in terms of signings. We have been told that all money from signings will go back into the team and that if NFL thinks that a player is worth £5m then he can have him. That’s good enough for me at the moment lets hope we back our manager as the alternative isn’t worth thinking about!
