Manager happy with preparations ahead of tomorrow

Half the battle when it comes to PR is not to score an own goal, which Neil Lennon managed to do in his pre-match press conference today when asked about the local ‘tradition’ of ritualistic animal slaughter before the game.  “You have to respect the traditions in Kazakhstan, they have a different culture.  We have our traditions.

“Our scouts watched Shakhter’s game against Astana on Friday.  We know the played a weakened team.

“We arrived early to adapt to the weather condition.  The journey went well.

“Tomorrow we play against a strong team.  It’s important to get a good result in the first game to increase our chances of reaching the Champions League group stage.”

Really looking forward to this one now.

I have trouble understanding why they have such an attitude. I am genuinely baffled.

the hands are drawn around the board, slowly, but deliberate, and there is a gasp as the assembled Bretherns toes curl up in their brown brougues and sammy the goat strains on his leash, and a sentence is written down

It seems obvious that black, is being hung out to dry, to get him off the wagebill as some posters have said.

Man United an one other is how it usually goes … well for the past 20-odd years anyway.

Can’t believe some are still moaning about buying players when the players we want will be waiting to see if we get into the CL or not ….. to listen to some of you, it seems we just need to say we want him, him and him ….. Hilariously naive ..

We have brought players in, and Neil has already said we are trying to get others in ….. Patience FGS …..

He certainly did miss some sitters……if it was simply early-season lack of sharpness, he is going to score a barrow-load…..he certainly gets himself into great scoring positions….

By my reckoning, there’s enough there to keep you and the rest of the VINTNER TIMS happy for a few days.

Now,if it was lager,I’d be up there like a shot-I remember the contents of an overturned Tennents lorry being “salvaged” a few years back.

    OK – got me!

    Loved the early Holy Goalie!

He was a guy who really got Celtic – he seemed to enjoy being here!

Some players find it too much for them – big Kelvin never looked as if he enjoyed the size of the club and its support and the pressure it puts on players

Give me guys like Sutton,BBJ,AT, Stan Petrov

Guys who walk out at places like the Bigotdome and don’t shrink but grow in to CFC players.

Sammy has it in a quiet way!

Tomorrow we need guys to step up to the plate as the Americans say and put the opposition in their place by playing good football and being mentally strong enough to do the job!

I concur with your thoughts re. regular CL qualification and the financial snowball from it.

It always got on my t–ts when a potential signing for yon deid club, came out with the well-rehearsed line of, “I want to come here because they play in the Champions League EVERY year!”

Glad we wont be hearing that about “thems” for a good few years!

You’re a right nyaff. Why is it that you have to come on and annoy us when we’re perfectly entitled to talk about prospective signings. Why is it that you can’t believe we are talking about signings? Why do you have that credibility gap? Do you not understand English when you see it written? We’ve been talking about it for weeks now and we’ll be talking about it until the transfer window slams shut on August 31st. There can you believe it now?

  23. paolosboots Good Luck Wee Oscar on

TOSB, ideal , we should be the go to club that continuously punches above our weight, so if a player can’t get into a bigger league team then we are known for our success in qualifying, great atmosphere and a shop window for that move to bigger league. Maybe if we have the cash and get a reputation of paying better or fewer installments then we attract those players and not end up with rummaging in the bargain basement and not at a time of our choosing. NFL deserves alot of credit to where we are, it would be disappointing not to get CL group , (i believe we will) but have now guaranteed 3 years european money & group stage football which is some achievement. I don’t know if we will ever get beyond last 16 but we all want it to be a rollercoaster ride!!!
