  1. Onwards and upwards – literally – to the highlands and hopefully no injuries for Tuesday .Isnt it great to witness the pain of the paupers as we have the group stages in our sights for the third year in a row not saying we’ll get there but we’re more than capable they can’t even hide it anymore so that’s all the better for us and any fans who are lucky enough to get to away group games should send the sevconian in their life a postcard from the continent just to let them know we’re thinking of them

  2. Delaneys Dunky on

    Bhoylo

    Mikel Lustig has been the best player in the Celtic team since the day we signed him. Mik is our only World Class player, the noo.

    FF WAS great…..but he’s gone now….get over it…he is INDEED but a distant memory….the king is dead……long live the king…

  4. jude2005 is Neil Lennon \o/

    Notice they didnt replay the Kayal “penalty” claim.

    ———

    They showed it again on Sky News, but from the same angle. Looked a pen.

  5. It was great to see Beram getting back to what he can be.

    Confidence being instilled in him from RD?

    Derk was the obvious Bobby Petta candidate but perhaps Beram is gonna be the guy that gets his mojo back from another boss?

    Like a new signing perhaps :P

    Nice to see some of you guys being big enough and giving him a well deserved pat on the back while holding your hands up about being critical of him in the past as well.

  6. Ellboy - I am Neil Lennon, YNWA. on

    There are still glaring deficiencies but tonight is not the night to point them out.

    Kayal was fantastic and young Callum is an old head on young shoulders. Lots of criticism of Izzy, lost count at the number of times he cut out passes by screening the defence during the second half. He read the danger well at an important point in the game. Overall much much better tonight against a side with limited quality but 1-1 is a great result, hopefully bang some goals in next week and swell the bank balance a little bit more.

    Good performance great result HH!

    £17M even

    Thought the £22M started this season, always open to correction though

  8. There was not ONE Celtic player who came off that park that didn’t put an honest shift in, Maribor where blawin it oot there arse in the last 15 mins, what an outstanding performance from the whole square, aweright a couple of wee hiccups , but sheet happens.

  9. Got to credit the linesman for a great call when Berget received the pass, could quite easily gone the other way

    Wish you would say what you mean mate, hate it when posts are deliberately ambiguous :-)

  11. Just Another Tim on

    We desperatley need some cover for Izzy. We missed a trick in letting Andrew Robertson sign for Hull. I’ll shout that till my throat is hoarse. Izzy needs a rest. Sloppy passes, tired running back, the bhoy needs some cover.

    Berget, I think has surprised us all. He works hard, has scored 2 goals, assisted at least 1 in the CL. i can see now why RD has brought in 3 wide players for that position. Smart management, especially as they are all loans.

    Denayer, looks and plays like VVD’s wee brother. Permanently signing him would be a miracle but we need to look into it.

    Johanssen continues to impress me despite his unfortunate double touch tonight. a great signing!

  12. saltires en sevilla on

    Superb result, performance deserved a better result.

    Stars all over the park for Celts.

    Callum stood out amongst them all, in a team with few below par.

    Take a bow son, take a long slow bow, an outstanding performance tonight.

    Ronny shoving some words down a few gobs too!! Egg splattered coupons, serves themselves right !!

    Bring it on next week; cannot wait.

  13. the glorious balance sheet on

    Nothing has been won yet.

    “This mob will crumble in front of a packed Celtic support.”

    They didn’t crumble against Europa league winners Sevilla last season.

    Nor did they crumble on front of the atrocity that is 50,000 screaming orcs at Ibrox in 2011.

    We got a good result tonight. It could have been better. And that mob only need 1 goal at Celtic park to change the complexion of the tie.

    They’re not very good. But they have the carrot of CL football dangling in front of them.

    They won’t capitulate at Celtic Park. We will have to play well to go through.

    Sharper up front and resolute at the back. That’s what’s needed. Let’s not lose sight of that.

    Almost feel guilty about keeping this bar open, almost but not quite.

    Petec,

    90mins 11against 11 and I’m happy on tonight’s performance we have a great chance but nothing more.

    Potentially £39M game

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    They will be well drilled as ever and we treat them lightly at our peril.
    We are in an excellent position to proceed howevah.
    Ronny definitely has plan that doesn’t have a capitalised P and that is good. ;))
  16. For me keyal mom. Tony great 2nd half but needs to patrol middle more. Thought Jeff put turncoat in his place.
  17. 31003, so you feel the same about right wingers in that respect do you?
    Or strikers?
    All I said was we can praise CG, without the need to be disrespectful of FF.
    I felt that comparing them, to FF’s detriment was disrespectful.
    Nothing big, nothing to argue over, but worth a wee mention.
  18. Well done Bhoys, Anton and Beram put in a real shift tonight.
    Berget reminds me of the Swede that used to play for AC Milan and the national squad, wish I could remember his name
    Any chance `We’ can have a moratorium in callin people huns?
    Hail Hail…
  20. Smashing display with not many negatives, possibly only one being izzy at left back looking slightly more uncomfortable at this level as the standard improves, would love to see us sign a left back to at least put pressure on him! ! Anyhow enough of that for tonight , very fine result and lets finish it next week. ……… VVD Johenhson and Kayal all tremendous! !
  21. Moonbeams,
    Braw min.
    Plenty mistakes before efe entered play. His one coulda been costly admittedly.
    Progression;)
    31….
    Izzy was not shit tonight, he made a couple of mistakes, that’s all, every player made a couple of mistakes
  23. the glorious balance sheet
    Agree 100% absolutely no evidence to suggest this team will fold in a hostile atmosphere, quite the contrary in fact their past record would suggest they are comfortable in that environment
    Notice they didnt replay the Kayal “penalty” claim.
    ——————————————
    They didn’t show it in Croatia either. TV feed is supplied by local TV company in most of these games, which suggests it was a stonewaller.
  25. Jeg er Delia Smith on
    We need to get behind izzy, not get on his back. Bluntly, we have more chance of his finding form than we do of signing a decent replacement.
