McCoist at odds with hero Whyte

979

We all know Craig Whyte doesn’t get nearly enough credit for the wonderful job he is doing for Scottish football but his cause was not helped by rookie manager, Ally McCoist, who when asked today if Nikica Jelavic asked to leave Rangers said, “No he didn’t, not at all. I have a wonderful relationship with Nikica. He never said that.”

The Rangers manager then passed the buck onto the unfairly beleaguered club owner, telling STV, “We received a bid from Everton which Craig [Whyte] found acceptable. Therefore business was done.”

McCoist refused to take a manager’s responsibility for deciding who leaves the football club.  Craig Whyte made it clear to all concerned yesterday that Nikica Jelavic wanted to leave Rangers and there was no point keeping a player who didn’t want to be there.  Whyte needs the backing of everyone with the best interests of Scottish football at heart, including his manager.  The intrusive scrutiny he has been placed under in recent months will not help him achieve his objectives.

Whyte hasn’t put a foot wrong so far, we should all mind our own business and let him get on with his job. Eye on the prize, Craig.

Sipping a lovely ginger beer from Scotland – Morrison’s own 2012 blend of ginger and, surprisingly, no beer. Should be 89p a bottle and indeed that’s what it was.

Nice for sipping and wishing it was Saturday, the one day each week I’ve been bevvying this year, whilst observing the perfect storm (and whilst doing the quiz!)

What we are dealing with here is ‘smoke & mirrors’……..my thoughts ?

cw borrowed £18m to pay Lloyds..

He then borrowed £24.4m and stuck it in an account in Monaco (or Switzerland)

His plan is to go into administration at some point (not sure whether that will, strategically, be before, or after, HMRC ruling

He will then use the £24.4m to pay the bank, HMRC ,and other creditors, circa 6p in the £ ……keeping the rest for himself, and then spend the next 20 years building up the club to mediocre status, while living comfortably on his strategic gains………

That’s why he won’t publish accounts / hold an AGM………….he is ‘hiding’ the £24.4m, and thought we wouldn’t notice…..LOL….!!!

What he has failed to understand / appreciate is that, without success on the park, the current buns will NOT buy season tickets (especially if it is used to pay back the ticket loan) and, when that ‘penny drops’, he is going to ‘do a runner’…..

Let me tell you, when the penny drops amongst the current buns, he had better be a fast runner……….!!!!!!LOL…!!!

GOD to follow…..no matter how this pans out……….

  7. CRC,

I may be wrong (probably am) but Burchill scored his HT at Celtic Park, not in Luxemburg. Was the away leg not MONs first competitive game in charge? The away leg was defo 1st.

  8. McNee is like a lot of pundits, they think they know best. Name one commentator who has had success in their chosen field. Keevins, Young, Traynor, Delahunt, Gordon and the rest couldn’t make it their game yet they feel qualified to criticise managers and players!

The fact is that, with few exceptions, sports journalism in Scotland is populated by people who, by their own admission, can’t/don’t use the internet; read a balance sheet; distinguish between administration and liquidation; recognise a fact or an opinion; commentate impatially.

Not familiar with these things but I assumed at the very least that the owner of the assets would be required to give the lender some form of guarantee of his intentions, to ensure that the borrower wasn’t just a time-waster – given the amounts involved. (at very least the owner of the assets would have known what was going on)
