McGeouch suffers in friendly test

824

Friendly games are all about building match sharpness while hopefully avoiding injury.  Celtic were given an excellent opportunity to shape up against Real Madrid last night but a suspected broken jaw to Dylan McGeouch who was knocked unconscious will set the player back several weeks.

Henrik Larsson spectacularly returned to action after a double jaw break after three weeks in 2003, scoring with a header within minutes although he walked off the field after his injury without additional complications.  We wish Dylan a speedy recovery and hope to see him in Champions League action next month.

village scenes are Pennan (I think) deffo East Coast

Beaches are camusdarach, along from where we camped, chapel is high on a hill on the approach to Arisaig at Inverailort. BUT – in the film if you go to Camusdarach beach you’ll see a beautiful cottage where the Chapel should be – because they mocked one up for those shots..

Spiritually humbling to take in the scenery up there.

You can make any amount of changes to your team until next Saturday morning, so plenty of time to get a first team keeper in, good luck.

I think Noel posts sometim on the Huddleboard.

I’m sure he keeps an eye on this site, but Ithink the level of abuse directed at a member of his family, by some ignoramuses on here, stoppedhim rom poting.

I agree, he is sadly missed here, for his humour, links and his ability to calm the blog down when the attention seekers, sought attention.

As you probably know.Commandant General Tom Barry, said himself, that he went to war to see what it was about.

He said it made him more determined,to show the brits, the folly of their ways.

Don’t twist facts,to try and make your comments, seem worthy.

You’re dead right just had a wee check. It would seem that the beach scenes were filmed on the west coast and the village scenes were Pennan.

Didn’t know that the bar scenes were filmed in a pub in Banff.

Indeed. It is also true that tens of thousands of other Irishmen fought and died for the English in the Great War,many of them did so because the English promised them Home Rule for Ireland in return for their sacrifices.

The English were not true to their word, obviously.

Noel always seemed to handle that side of things brilliantly, but I understand how offensive some of the mouthing off would be.

Other players’ families have been offended by mouthing off on CQN.

Noel was, as you say, fantastic for the blog as a whole, a tireless defender of Celtic (not players, managers, execs … but Celtic) and exceptionally funny. I would love it if he felt he could post again.

On the night the City of London Police raided the Brox, Noel posted a police-style comment about a beast being apprehended and posted a link to a goat. It was so funny. Members of my family still talk about it regularly.

  20. Don’t know if it’s been posted, but there seems to be an interesting film about Belfast Loyalists during The Troubles on Film Four @ 02:10 in the a.m. I know nothing about it; it’s called ‘Nothing Personal’.

I have seen nothing of the Olympics but feel I must say a hearty congratulations to Team GB whose medal count is quite remarkable even more so if it were to be calculated per head of population.. In the midst of general economic doom and gloom they have given the public a real lift I’m sure.Pity the politicians are incapable of reaching such heights.

I saw something about medals won per head of capita earlier, and the GB team were not even in the top 10.

Grenada were top, Jamacia second and Trinidad and Tobago third.

Sort of blows that theory oot the winde :>)
