Michael, they have taken you away… from Ibrox

1425

If you aggregate the nods, winks and rumours around Celtic this week you might be inclined to think we’re in the market for a target-man striker with a few years’ experience under his belt.  I agree with the principle that we need a target man and I’m also of the view that short-term deals are not nearly as desirable as permanent contracts, but as we know, it’s too easy to load the club full of squad players who cumulatively cost a lot of money but scarcely trouble the first team.

Hooper, Stokes, Samaras, Bangura, Rasmussen and Murphy are all under contract for next season and we cannot be confident of attracting bids for any of those Neil Lennon might want to move on.  If we add a seventh striker, his name better be on the team sheet before Gary Hooper’s.  Signing an exotic version of Daryl Murphy would add spice to our week but would only consume scarce resources.  I’d rather not.

Co-opting a media partner works in theory.  It’s always better to have good relationships with the media than the kind of relationships Celtic perennially have, but what happens when your media partner plays with a straight bat?

Rangers media partner, STV, today report Nigerian trialist, Michael Uchebo, boarded a plane out of Glasgow a few hours after arriving (Michael, they have taken you away….) as the VVV-Venlo striker with 8 career goals to his name had “a poor first impression of” Rangers.

Michael, you clearly have a rubbish strike rate but you’re a remarkably perceptive individual.

Tommy is kidding himself on if he thinks bigotry and sectarianism should not and will not be discussed on a West Scotland fitba phone-in

it is a key, relevant and important issue that should be talked about long nd often until it is NAILED !

sorry Tommy lad, might suit you to sweep it under a carpet, but its often not wise to do so – better face these things head on

True but I sense another medai obsfuscation attempt in the offing in that whether it is repaid or not a loan involves a payment. Contracts that show what players were paid is what the FAs want to know.

The conduit for payment is important but secondary to knowing through being informed which is what the rules require.

    ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

The last time I seen MoJo talking about Celtic was on Scotsport before we played the huns @ibrokes on, October 1995 Huns 3-3 Celtic.

Mo when asked by a stoney faced Jim White ” who was your favourite team?”

Mo replied “Celtic were my favourites!”

I still find it difficult to dismiss the theory that….Mo was used by a, desperate Celtic board in 1989 just before the SCF vs the huns and, paraded on the understanding by Mo that, Celtic would look after his tax-bill of, £150k ?mmmmm

I thought that the first time I heard him on snyde ,if you think he is bad now ,you should have heard some of his earlier stuff .

Someone at snyde must have pulled him aside when he first started and told him to at least try and put on a front .

Before anyone else comes on and suggests we show mercy to the huns, for the sake of our own finances, they should have a think about what RFC have brought to this country. I wont begin to mention rioting fans or apartheid club policy.

In my opinion RFC are THE central character in much of what we know as Scotlands Shame. From Orange walks to Corrupt organisations, when you think about it,. they all bare the hun fingerprint. The biggest losers in the hun conservation (now preservation) movement are Celtic Football Club. When I reflect on the many decisions which benefitted RFC to our cost, my blood still boils. You could write a book about the goings on, from Hugh Dallas to striking refs and how timmy was a paranoid troublemaker and bad loser.

The huns must be served with a punishment which fits the crime, if guilty. Thats the most important issue here. From a Celtic viewpoint, if it means us losing 10000 season tickets and downscaling somewhat for a few years, then I dont care one little bit. It has to happen. If it means the huns disappear for good, which I doubt, I’d be happy

They got away with too much for too long. If it wasnt for UEFA and HMRC they still would be.

IMO the fact ragers are in so much brown(brogue)stuff is great for the spl ,the other spl teams get so much more exposure on shows like snyde /shortbread when there is bad news to be reported about ragers
