Mind the Kayal Gap

794

Neil Lennon, his goalkeeper and defenders will not be too concerned at the loss of their first goal in domestic football yesterday since Noah was a boy.  John Rankin’s pot-shot from 20-odd yards clipped the post on its way in but the Dundee United player scored from an area of the field that is usually vigorously monitored by Beram Kayal.

We’re going to miss that guy……

Great news!!! The day rangers go bust is the day the old firm becomes sole ownership of Celtic FC, to with what we will. :)

    I love it.

A 25 year old who plays for Fleetwood Town?

You’re kidding, right? Worth getting into a bidding war for?

    I very much doubt it.

Jamie Vardy is a very good player Fleetwood paid a lot of money for him about 100,000. Fleetwood are trying to get into the English leagues they have a very rich chairman.

If We are in for him would cost 500,000

Above is a link to a letter the SPL sent to all member clubs and candidate clubs.

Now while the membership criteria, rules and regulations made interesting reading..

It seems to me that The Crux of the matter is the paragraph below.

Rule A2.7; the Board may, in its absolute discretion, waive, relax or grant a period of grace in respect of any Club or Candidate Club’s requirement to comply with any part of the Membership Criteria and/or the time limit for applications for approval, waiver, relaxation or period of grace etc. and/or for Registration of a ground with the League.

    Which means…

Aye, these are all the rules, but it’s oor baw….

    Roll On March 31st…

  6. I am sure, pretty much 100% positive, that there are a hundred players out there that should be on our list of targets before some guy who, with all due respect, plays for a club in the fifth tier of English football (his highest level thus far) and is pretty much 94th in their structure.

As for getting into a bidding war for such a player? Naw.

Oh, and btw, Fulham are also interested in the £1m rated striker.

    £1m? pmsl

  8. The Tricoloured Ribbon,

Thanks for the reply. Was watching my other team, Barca. To me, we have a tremendous centre forward in Hooper. My main worry is that the TEAM, primarily because of its average age, needs an “auld haun” to guide them to winning the League. We have easily the best squad in Scotland and it can only get better, with experience.

    Everyone,

I am delighted to see Fergus getting the recognition he deserves on here tonight. We are where we are now because of him. The one time I have felt it necessary to write to Celtic was after that infantile display on flag day.

James Forrest, really hope Vardy is a rumour as I would bd seriously underwhelmed. 25 and still in nonleague? Better off with Tony Watt or James Keatings. Vary does not fit in with Lennys “late 20s early 30s striker who has played at the top” in fact Vardy is quite the opposite.

  12. A left field question….

If the FTT case were to go against Rankers, and they found themselves having to ‘re-apply’ for entry to the Scottish leagues, is there any obligation to apply to the Scottish league?

It could be that life working your way through the leagues might be a very different proposition & longer term more rewarding proposition if you applied to the leagues of another country.

My mate scored a hat trick for Linfield yesterday ..and they hate him..

    ************************************************

I don’t they hate him, i think they can’t understand how he scored so many goals for Coleraine and can’t do it for a bigger team.

I personally think he’s rubbish anyway. Couldn’t do it against us (Cliftonville).

He’s been playing in the lower leagues of England mate.

At 25 years old, if it was there – if anything was there – he’d have been well out of there by now.

Not what’s required? If he’s in Glasgow for talks with us I’ll be OFFENDED.

Professor Green- Darryl King I believe, was stating that ” Some people are trying to say Rangers have been cheating over EBTs, thats tota nonsense, they have done nothing wrong, just badly advised”

This smacks of the first drip fed sound bite by Media House re the tax dodgers.Listen out for Traynor, Young,Leckie,Dodds,Johnstone blabbing the same line verbatim. This happened after “Dougie Dougie” at Tannadice, when ALL media outlets pedalled the lie about the penalty incident(s),” but he made the correct decision in the end”.There was 2 stonewall penalties in that passage of play, not to mention McDonald holding Stokes back from the resulting drop ball. You will never ever see a decision like that in football again.

Yeah it’s very simple. Our manager has had Rhodes watched, and Diawara watched, and the Rapid Vienna striker. Rhodes is scoring for fun and fits “the profile” perfectly. Diawara has proved he is the guy we should have signed in the summer and the Rapid striker is the guy with the experience of playing in Europe etc.

To go from those guys to the signing of a Conference striker? And that’s the will of Neil Lennon?

Yes, offended is not too strong a word. It will insult our intelligence, and our manager.

The day when Fergus was booed by his own was a total embarassment.Where I was standing in the north stand

everyone seemed to be looking around, or at the floor in dismay.

I still believe many fans were deluded by the crap written about Fergus in the media. As supporters we all wanted

more cash spent on the team but Fergus could see the big picture. His treatment from the media was shameful.

Only G.Spiers and K.McCarra at the time were balanced in their comments about him.IMO.

Re Vardy-my mate’s cousin played for Blackpool v Fleetwood a couple of weeks ago and asked what he thought of him.He said he’s still a bit raw, very quick, runs all day long, not sure if he’s ready to step up.Got a bit of a bad reputation off the park.Blackpool bid 750k,Fleetwood want £1 mil.

  22. I’ve watched a good few Conferenece games in the last few seasons (admit not seen any Fleetwood games)

the boy Vardy has scored a good ratio of goals but the standard of play would make Heraghty’s Heroes Not so Goods look like Barca

no kiddin – slow and amateurish is not in it

agree with JF view and suspect the odd gem can be found in those leagues but – probably not at 25 unless he has found a supply of ‘Limitless’ tablets ;-)
