Mind the Kayal Gap

794

Neil Lennon, his goalkeeper and defenders will not be too concerned at the loss of their first goal in domestic football yesterday since Noah was a boy.  John Rankin’s pot-shot from 20-odd yards clipped the post on its way in but the Dundee United player scored from an area of the field that is usually vigorously monitored by Beram Kayal.

We’re going to miss that guy……

Professor Green- Darryl King I believe, was stating that ” Some people are trying to say Rangers have been cheating over EBTs, thats tota nonsense, they have done nothing wrong, just badly advised”

Ignorance of the law is not a defence. “We didn’t know a big boy told us it was ok to do it” is not a legal stance any sane person / company would take. If the court finds in favour of the HMRC they – Der Hun are guilty of cheating, no ifs and definitely no buts – Simples – no argument cheats to the core.

  3. Iniesta carded for falling in the area. Radio Nacional think it should have been a penalty “como una catedral”, which is a much nicer way of saying “stonewaller”.

BadaBing, Vardy a bit raw? he is 25!! He will be a vertern if he joined Celtic. No thanks. Sign Baba, the man Lenny wants (i think)

  5. Barcelona are going to get a winner here.

However, as I have made clear on other occasions, I wouldn’t put money on it (for The Exiled Tim).

  6. re Halifax Town (and from Wiki)

Huge tax debts buried Halifax Town A.F.C. after almost 100 years as a football club. New figures put to a reconvened creditors meeting in May 2008 showed the cash-strapped Shaymen owed over £800,000 to Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs. The Revenue refused any deal and that effectively finished the club

Betis down to ten men, free-kick on edge of box for Barca…..Messi hits the wall.

  8. The Radio Nacional team has noted that wee Lionel Messi, famed for never arguing with the ref, is having a right go at the officials tonight. He is on a yellow. Seventeen minutes to go.

  9. The Exiled Tim

Not for me to say, but there must be better odds on Betis getting the draw, or even sneaking the win.

    You deserve an evening off.

  10. “The squirrel scores,” says our man on Radio Nacional.

The squirrel? If I was Alexis Sánchez, I think I would rather be called the lynx, or the panther, or the jaguar or the hen harrier or something.

  11. Manuel Fraga is dead? Hadn’t heard that before the news update there. Woooft.

What links to Franco remain now?

Iniesta carded for falling in the area. Radio Nacional think it should have been a penalty “como una catedral”,

A Scottish take on this would be for the Wee free Calvanist follower of Knox commentator to say “como un bien construida iglesia protestante”

However it is unlikely that any of the currant bun – sorry current batch of Scots commentators would dare to defile their mouths by speaking an overtly Papish language.

  13. AngelGabriel – its always shameful when history is rewritten.

Fergus was booed because he refused to give adequate investment in the team in his final year (he delivered on his 5 year plan a year early and stood still for that year) – that allowed the huns to win the league again the next year. The Celtic Support recognised this – Jansen’s departure was good evidence of it.

Fergus did what he said he would do and he got handsomly rewarded for it financially. It however should NEVER be forgotten that it was the Celtic support who made the whole project a massive success. In his final year Fergus rewarded us by refusing to invest in the team – he was protecting his investment and treading water. Meanwhile the support flocked in buying season tickets etc.

It has ever been thus for Celtic – indeed its once again happenning with DD simply treading water but expecting us to keep the money coming in.

Fergus took his (sorry our) money and dissappeared. I’m not criticising him for – he said he would do exactly that.

But trying to portray him as a romantic hero of some kind and villanising the support for showing their displeasure really wont do. Celtic fans have always made their own mind up – we didnt need to pay any attention to the laptop loyal to show Fergus was letting us down very badly.

So enough reinvention of history please.

  14. Oglach. Very funny.

Protestants do have cathedrals too, of course, even the Church of Scotland, even though it doesn’t like it.

The way this works in Spanish is to say, “como una casa” (the size of a house) if something is very obvious. “Como una catedral” is something even more stonewaller than that. I’m not sure if “stonewaller” is the correct translation. Maybe stonewaller is “como una casa” and “como una catedral” is like an honest mistake.

  15. Chema Abad on Radio Nacional refers to Manuel Fraga as “one of the fathers of the constitution [of modern democratic Spain]”.

A minute later he says: “I really can’t read out the messages I’ve just received. I’m not sure why people feel the need to use such language … ”.

  16. Bada Bing

Darryl King was on talksport a couple of months ago answering “questions” about the tax case from Andy Gray & Richard Keys.

If you were uninformed or say a casual listener from down south with no alliegance to any team up here you would have felt

sorry for the huns. Darryl stated that the huns although badly advised had only done what many other clubs including Arsenal

had done but on a bigger scale ! He stated that HMRC were actively chasing football (sic) clubs and were using this as a test case !

It was like a party political broadcast on behalf of the orcs.

I nearly crashed my works van while shouting at the radio.

A lot of what you say is true but we should never underestimate what the bunnet did for us. Yes we, the support, were the driving force but he put his money where no one else would. Many of us would have liked to see the 3 amigos stay and players of their calibre added to the squad but Fergus played a huge part in saving our club. Regardless of our opinions of the mans tenure as chairman we should not forget that.

  18. James

Vardy is from what i understand twice the price of Rapid strike.

Is he a better player i will leave that to Neil Lennon to decide.

But guys i can think of like Ian Wright never played for Crystal Palace until he was 23 and Arsenal

until he was 26 or 27 Sheringham not in top flight before 26 or so even Frankie McAvennie was late developer

so it doesnt mean the boy cant do a job if Neil decides that what he wants.

I am sure there are a lot more examples out there.

I’m pretty sure the fans didn’t boo Fergus in 1998 due to inadequate funding in 1999.

    Hello CQN.

Long time lurker, blah, etc… blah.

I notice on my daily scroll the ole south stand debate getting a brief airing.

Really hoped it would happen as part of the 2014/triangle plans,

although it probably wont as long as we’re stuck with the SPL.

Anyway, I’m aware that the project has been looked at a few times and plans dawn up.

Does anyone know where i can get a look at any plans/drawings and related content.

Thanks in advance for any info’.

    Evening all,

Listened to Radio Clyde on way home from the game yesterday – fully accepted by the journos that Rancid FC are in deep doo-doo.

But, it wasn’t illegal (according to D King) – they were just badly advised!

Oh, that’s all right – never mind the ‘moral’ aspect of it.
