    If our Brendan is happy then I am happy, I loved Neil Lennon the manager, I loved Tommy Burns the manager, I loved St Martin the manager but I can assure you Brendan is my favourite manger ever could listen to him every minute of every day, by the way I liked big Billy & Wim Jansen & the quiet assassin that was Davie Hay :-)

    10 days ago, there was to be a challenge, so we played the game with 10 Mhen.

     

    Today we played against 10 men, and as above, have gone 10pts clear

    We have set our own standards by last season’s performances.

     

    The fact that we are failing to match these standards is not an unwarranted criticism, it happens to be true.

     

     

    We remain Celtic supporters regardless, but there is absolutely nothing untoward in wanting us to be the best we are capable of.

    As far as I’m concerned we are 12 ahead, Sevco have a game more played and anyhow they won’t be second.

     

    So 8 games left 12 ahead plus 28 ahead on goal difference, I don’t think there is too much to be bothered about.

     

    Of course I always want Celtic to win playing champagne football but I accept it won’t happen every week.

     

    Today was one of those weeks, I can live with that.

     

    Thought we missed KT’s marauding runs.

    Tommy Burns’ time as manager was unforgettable. We may not have won stuff but we were thrilled, game after game after game. It was beautiful to watch, an embodiment of Tommy’s football philosophy. I feel privileged to have been there. May God rest his soul, what a man, what a man.

    My mother had no time for any football but she loved our Tommy her two favourite phrases were

     

     

    “Better singing at chapel than at Parkheas”

     

     

    “Celtic don’t put food on the table”

     

     

    She was a wise woman, Tommy Burns & my wee mum both passed in May 2008, MissGFTB wa born September 2008, delighted she knew the wee blade was on the way, totally gutted she never met her :-) as a young Bhoy I probably brought far too much trouble to my mums door, gutted she didn’t see my being one of the good ghuys in latter life :-)

    Thought we played well enough, their MotM deserved his accolade blocked quite a few net bound shots, they played to their best and got their just deserts no quibbles here, entertaining enough game and would have preferred to have hammered them but for today’s game I’m not too disappointed, I was more annoyed last week when we made harder work dispatching a worse team. I did not tjink well were too agricultural either though some tasty challenges went in from both sides.

     

    Rogic MotM for me and thought the big lad Hendry did not OOK out of place, quite impressed by him of late and glad I wasn’t stupid enough to form an opinion before I watched him play in the hoops, got to say well done Brendan on that shout.

    Your dear mum will have known you were a good lad, even when you weren’t behaving like one.

     

    She sounds too smart a lady to have thought anything else.

     

     

    I was up visiting my dear mum this weekend. She’s mentally as sharp as she ever was though she’s physically limited these days. Still as strong in her religious beliefs today as she ever was. Heart of gold, kindness beyond words.

     

    I’m glad I’m moving back home in July so I’ll be be able to spend time with her. I dread the day she’s no longer here but I’ll focus on spending some quality time with her whilst I can.

     

     

    Anyway, the point is, like you, I wish I could turn the clock back. Done things that must’ve made her sad, but, like your mum, they can see beyond the bad stuff and see the real person.

     

     

    With maws like them how could we fail:-)

    Has anyone got the details on the Centenary 1988 event that is taking place this summer? Walker should be booed at every opportunity, no friend of Celtic and I think the support should let him know that…….on another note BR did not seem his usual self in the interview after the game.
