  2. Will be a different selection for Saturday v Killie now after that, would you start Broonie or go back to McGregor….? I would…..

  3. I think Brendan’s comments were aimed at Ntcham, hooked at HT,wasted left side on a narrow pitch , Hayes should have been subbed at HT,Rogic on and Ntcham moved to centre midfield IMO

  4. Sinclair, Griffiths, Brown, Hayes and Gamboa will not start on Saturday. In the case of Brown it’s just that we have better options. The others listed are not good enough. Ntcham is the only one I would consider starting, he’s a first 11 player for me.

    ——

I thought Ntcham did ok down the left – better than Sinclair did in the second half ! The guys on BT assumed Ntcham had picked up a knock, he was far from our worst player.

The comments were clearly aimed at Griff imo. He’s been the man claiming to be our number one striker and tonight he blew it.

  6. Fan-a-tic

I’ve no idea how Sinclair is keeping his place. I’ve been asking that question for a year now. Maybe he’s a dossier on BR from a night out in Swansea or something but at this stage his inclusion is borderline ridiculous.

  7. Disappointed. We will

    Still win the league

Don’t agree with Brendan’s words that he can’t rely on same 11

Mm. Maybe a bit true. But we should never rely on Hayes Gamboa They are waste of a jersey

Last Sunday’s team was our strongest 11

Play that only change in case of injury or loss of form. Squad rotation does not work

  8. Is Brendan becoming the tinkerman?Tonight again showed the fringe players are not up to it. I just can’t understand why Gamboa and Hayes are still at the club.,At least Sinky is consistent he always seems to make the wrong decisions and is now a luxury in the team.Playing Calumn in front of the back four gives us a good chance of playing the ball forward quickly instead tonight we were back to slow and dangerous passing from the back.We found a good style with Calumn and Christie, why change it to accommodate Scott Brown,it might be harsh on Brown but thats football.

  9. For me squad rotation is resting three players and making early subs once the match is put to bed.

The changes tonight were too many. As was the case at Tynecastle and Rugby Park.

3 away wins from 8 in the league indicates that we’re not quite at the level we hope to be at despite a good couple of months.

  10. Would anyone be complaining about the number of changes had:

    Big Ben’s goal rightly stood?

    Griffiths converted the penalty?

Calum put away a relatively easy chance?

Clancy whistled for the foul on Gamboa?

  11. First post! Ave Ave all.

Good point won tonight although the Referee denying us all three disallowing the second goal was a sore one.

Hindsight’s a wonderful thing and gambling on Griffiths converting the penalty was a mistake when Christie could have ran up and blown it into the net such is his want on current form.

Reckon the SFA have match day preferences involving Celtic sorted out now for the remainder of the season: Madden; Clancy; and Dallas although not necessarily in that order.

I can already see from many of the posts above that many on here haven’t a clue about football but there you go. Seems like a good place for those that need more power to their elbow so watch out!

Sevco fans moaning about an inability to break down defenses but Aberdeen keeper made 3 very good saves in those highlights.

For all our possession tonight i don’t remember the Motherwell goalie having to many saves.

Our football needs to be simplified and focused on putting the ball and players into dangerous areas.

We have the players with ability to do so just not sure the tactics allow.

  13. Fanatic

There was a staleness about our play.

Too many were off the boil and too much weight was placed on the shoulders of Christie and McGregor.

I don’t think Hayes, Sinclair or Ntcham put in the effort required to make them contenders for a regular first team place.

Rogic looked bewildered, like he’d been awakened from a bad dream.

  14. Some amount of pish on here tonight. We scored 2 legitimate goals and should have won the game on the back of them. Shite referreeing cost us the game, not Celtic. How hard is this to understand?

Hi folks – take all the points re: Clancy’s influence on the game.

However – at the game there were plently of fans getting more frustrated and angrier as the second half wore on, so I don’t think it is only the result that has generated the negative views here.

Sinclair (when he came on) and Griffiths were being commented on all night in the stands – and not in a complimentary way.

Seen the movie many times before at Motherwell – total control and blow points away needlessley. Despite what Brendan has said, too many changes was a factor in our play.

Biggest factor was, for me, moving McGregor away from his recent role – the metronome – as Paul was describing it – was broken with that move.

Anyway – off down to Windsor for a bliddy meeting in a minute, but back up in time to see us (hopefully) crush the hopes of those Killie fans.

Now, who , exactly is saying it has been proven?”

    Where have you been ?

    =======================================================================

I just read a few articles on what was said by these people. I googled each of their names with the tags “Climate change” and “proven” attached. Google did not throw up any examples of any of them claiming it had been proven.

So, to paraphrase your last line-

What have you been reading and where?

Do you still not get the difference between proven and disproven?

I feel I have been wasting my time if you cannot grasp that point.

As evidence from the articles I read:-

    Attenborough said

“climate change is humanity’s greatest threat in thousands of years.”

it could lead to the collapse of civilisations and the extinction of “much of the natural world”.

“If we don’t take action, the collapse of our civilisations and the extinction of much of the natural world is on the horizon.”

“The world’s people have spoken. Their message is clear. Time is running out. They want you, the decision-makers, to act now,”

the world is “nowhere near where it needs to be” on the transition to a low-carbon economy.

    Pope Francis said

““Global warming continues, 2015 was the warmest year on record, and 2016 will likely be warmer still. This is leading to ever more severe droughts, floods, fires and extreme weather events.

“Climate change is also contributing to the heart-rending refugee crisis. The world’s poor, though least responsible for climate change, are most vulnerable and already suffering its impact. ”

“….work for the common good while taking steps to resolve the “ecological debt” between the global north and south.

Repaying it would require treating the environments of poorer nations with care and providing the financial resources and technical assistance needed to help them deal with climate change and promote sustainable development,”

    Barrack Obama said

“I do not believe that any part of the world has to be condemned to perpetual poverty and hunger. And I do not believe that this planet is condemned to ever-rising temperatures. I believe these are problems that were caused by man, and they can be solved by man.”

“During the course of my presidency, I made climate change a top priority, because I believe that, for all the challenges that we face, this is the one that will define the contours of this century more dramatically perhaps than the others.”

My final word on the matter

    Attenborough is clearly.stating that ” climate change ” is a fact , not a theory .

See when I want to “clearly” state that Climate Change is a “fact”, I would use the sentence “Climate Change is a fact- Neither he nor the others did.

If I wanted to communicate the view that Climate Change was the best-fit theory to explain the evidence and observations ( I don’t even call them facts becayse there are damn few facts that are actual facts – invariable and true), then all the other observatiosn actually made by these people are accurate. You have to proceed on the basis of the best information available to you- you cannot rely on it being possibly wrong because the costs of you being possibly wrong in that assumption are greater than those involved in accepting the wisdom of your informed peers.

None of your damn business , Francisco.

    Not your job.

    Render unto Caesar………

And the observations by Popes on other religions, on communism, on slavery, on sexual politics, on gender identity, on eating meat on Fridays, on helping the poor etc; – Are they all non-Caesarian in your view? I believe the Pope is rendering unto Caesar- he is rendering advice and is he not an informed Catholic?

The introduction of whataboutery with the church’s sex abuse scandal only works if the Pope has never made a series of pronouncement on these matters and made his position clear. Unless you feel that he should deal only with that subject and touch on nothing else till that has been addressed? Why not address them both and many other topics of interest to all Catholics, informed or not (though I think you are mistaking informed for those that agree with you), and the non-Catholic community.

Would you have censured the Parish Priests in Castlemilk who strongly advised their flock in sermons to vote for Teddy Taylor, because of his views on abortion. Or Archbishop Hughes of New York who railed against Abolitionists and said “owning slaves was not a sin”?

Surely the Papacy, as with all religions, cannot limit its advice to purely spiritual or bible-foreseen issues?

He addressed a large group of schoolchildren in an arena and told them about the ” danger ” to the Great Barrier Reef caused by ” climate change ” . Presented as fact to an adoring adolescent audience.

Now that`s a party political issue in Oz.

Don`t interfere in domestic politics , Barak.

It is NOT a party political issue per se. It may be an issue on which the policy makers of certain political parties have taken sides but I dare say you will find easily some Australian right wingers who accept Climate Change and some centrists and leftists who don’t.

At some stage in this discourse you are going to have to define what you take to be a fact because you are using the word freely to present people who believe their views fit the known data and observations, but who retain doubt and scepticism. They remain especially sceptical on the tactic of ignoring the evidence and hoping it is a blip. I think that form of scepticism and doubt is well founded but not yet a fact.

Anyway on to football matter now before work calls.

  24. The last two blogs have gone from

“Time to rest a raft of players” to “Time to Roast a raft of players”.

There is plenty of scope to criticise the lower qality of football that we saw in last night’s game, and in the weekend Cup Final, because it was a drop from the previous month when we recovered a bit of form.

However, it is still too early to say that our early season form and the form of the last 2 matches is typical of this squad, or whether the November form will prove to define our season. We have played only 14 League matches of the 38 we must complete, that’s just over a third. It is a sizeable sample but not yet a season defining sample. A good run in December or January or February could see us motor on or alternatively, we could keep pace or fall behind- all scenarios are possible.

We cannot win every league by 20 points or more- some will be close and tough- and, at one point in the future, one will be lost. That is the nature of sporting competition- you have to be able to deal with setback and loss and still progress.

Some people want the manager to slate the players who let him down. Others want the manager to admit that too many changes is always wrong. I think Brendan was more measured than that. He knows some changes are necessary and he knows that fringe players are squad contributors and, even when they don’t equal the performance of those they replace, they have still served the team goalsof allowing rest and recovery to the form players who cannot just be flogged into the ground.

We have several important matches in the 7 we have yet to complete this month, none more so than the next 2- a game against the current league leaders and the game that decides whether we remain in Europe after Xmas.

We will continue to use more than a squad of 14 to get through these strenuous fixtures, brendan has shown enough ability to spread the load in the 2 seasons with 7 titles and trophies earned, to be given more respect and judgement.

I am not trying to stifle anyone’s legitimate criticism of poor play; this is just a plea to retain context in the criticism and avoid the “FFS Brendan- not this crap again!” type of response.

    Work calls!

  29. Ooft! It’s akin to FF without the sweary words on here!

Bottom line is that we should have been 3-0 up at half time. We weren’t because of an inexplicable decision by Clancy to deny a perfectly good goal; and a poor penalty from Griffiths (and the reluctance of the assistant referee to point out the keeper moved off his line before the kick).

Second half we huffed and puffed and were were 2 occasions where a wee square ball would have set up gilt edged chances. Clancy then contrives to ignore a blatant foul on Gamboa on the edge of the penalty area before Murderwell score.

We will have a few more games like this (operation stop the treble)(/b) before the end of the season. We had enough on the park to beat this team on a level refereeing surface; unfortunately the ref was shocking.
