  1. If Brendan thinks praising cheats like Clancy, will get us something further down the line,he is very much mistaken……

  2. Bada………my own view, I think Brendan feels he can only take responsibility for what he can control, ie the team. He did express incredulity around Filip’s perfectly good goal…….

I’d throw in the keeper coming off his line at Grffster’s weak penno, also……

If we raise an eyebrow they start an even durtier war.

Hun behaviour on and off the park is Scotland’s problem to fix.

    HH

  3. BR is “dignified”. He is everything I want in a Celtic manager. I think he believes the same as i do, that nowadays there is do deliberate cheating by the officials, just rank incompetence.

Did any of you see the St Johnstone “penalty” ? Rank incompetence at it’s best.

I know for a fact that fans of other teams think similarily.

    HH to all.

  4. Both Brendan Rodgers and Celtic as a team receive praise and rightly so. However when they get things severely wrong, then they should be held accountable too.

What was he thinking, making so many changes, 7 in total ? He has tried this formula before and it has never worked. O.k rotate to a degree, make 2 or 3 changes to freshen things up… But not 7

Also, his soft spot for Hayes needs to end. In January I would hope. What happened to the concept of earning the right to a starting jersey. I could understand his inclusion to start, if Hayes had been coming off the bench this last 4 / 5 weeks, and been turning in impressive showings as a substitute. But to just through him in, from nowhere… In my opinion is also wrong Brendan

Also, what is the rush to give Brown 90 minutes? Another mistake. I would of continued giving Brown 20-25 mins at end of games until his match sharpness increased. We fell out of the game last night in the 2nd half, mainly because Brown was gubbed from the first 45mins.

Why break up McGregor and Christie ? Possibly Ntcham in for Rogic, would have been the midfield change for me.

Scott Sinclair’s contribution when he came on was tragic. He done nothing right. He had involvement 5 or 6 times, and each time it was painful to watch.

An opportunity lost last night. We should of went top of the league, plus with game in hand. A real opportunity blown, to establish some day-light between us and the chasing pack.

Surely the Papacy, as with all religions, cannot limit its advice to purely spiritual or bible-foreseen issues?

    =========================================================

    Yes it can.

That`s the job of the Pope.

    Spiritual matters. Nothing else.

Hence the quotation. Render unto Caesar.

    All religions ? That`s the criterion ? Let`s take our cue from ” other religions ” ?

Set up a multi faith ” think tank ” on morality and ethics ?

If so , then what`s the point of being a Catholic ?

And the failures of individual players . Should that be seen as Brendan`s failure ?

The team chosen had more than enough chances to put this game to bed.

The players failed on the day. Brendan did his job. The players chosen failed to do their`s.

    No ?

  7. Macjay1 For Neil Lennon

    Buck stops with Rodgers.

You talk of the players that played wasting chances. Aside from the Penalty, and the disallowed goal, I don’t recall their keeper making many saves.

It’s Brendan’s failure in my eyes if he sees fit to start, Gamboa, Griffiths, Hayes, Brown… when 2 of that 4 are rubbish, and the other 2 are simply not game ready. So yes, Brendan’s fault.

‘And the failures of individual players . Should that be seen as Brendan`s failure ?’

    ###

Yes. It’s his job to assess whether individual players are likely to play well on the day and to inspire and motivate them to do so.

It’s also his responsibility to select a team of players that will work harmoniously together.

On last night’s performance he failed on the first and possibly the second.

It’s irrelevant that with proper refereeing and a bit of luck it could have been a 3 goal win. Poor/biased refereeing is to be expected, and luck is unreliable.

    You`re right , of course.

    The buck stops with Brendan.

He alone must take all of the blame for the loss.

Which , of course , means that he alone must take all of the credit for winning the league Cup.

    Onya , Brendan.

  10. ‘He alone must take all of the blame for the loss.’

    ##

He has to share the responsibility.

It’s (part of) what he’s paid to do.

This is not a difficult concept.

  11. Woke up this morning feeling gutted. 2 points thrown away, giving hope to our rivals. I know the Bhoys aren’t machines they have a lot of games under their belt and they can be excused a poor display but still feel gutted.

Griff should have been fresh but he was terrible, Sinclair too contributed nothing when he came on,

Gamboa won’t make it with us and whilst in fairness he at least tried hard it is not happening for Hayes either.

I was surprised that N’tcham was first to be hooked, I thought a change of formation first should have been first option.

Motherwell lost 2 players first 12 minutes and were down to 10 as we scored. That greatly limited their options to change things and bring on fresh legs. Yes Benkovic had a goal ruled out but even so we should have won.

You can talk about the missed penalty as well but penalties aren’t goals, they must be scored and we have missed 2 successive ones in last 2 games.

Anyhow it’s over & done with now but we need a good reaction on Saturday.

Killie will be well organised & difficult to break down.

League is our most important Competition , there is a break coming up so until then play best available team in all League games.

Well hello , Ernie , my old ( former ) sparring partner .

    Tempted to disagree …….

Eg. Was Leigh ” likely ” to score from the penalty spot ? Show of hands .

However , in the festive spirit which currently abounds , I have to admit that you are , of course , perfectly correct .

  14. Rodgers post match comments were interesting. He spoke of certain players not playing to instruction. And also a dig about missing opportunities.

Don’t think it takes brains of Britain to understand, that his comments were veiled digs at Griffiths.

If cats have 9 lives, and if Leigh was a cat, I’m certain he is on live 8 or 9 with Brendan now. His performance last night was abysmal, but yet was afforded the opportunity to start.

I think one thing is guaranteed, and that is that Griff will be benched come the Killie game.

‘Was Leigh ” likely ” to score from the penalty spot ?’

    ###

That’s a sensitive one because it’s rumoured that he might have issues similar to those of NFL which it would affect his confidence, and which BR would have to take into account. In the event he didn’t play well and the penalty lacked conviction. When it was given I thought Christie might have taken it. I assume BR will have designated the penalty taker prior to kick off.

  16. When watching games, a lot of fans just watch the general flow of the game. The collective.

I paid a degree of attention to Griffiths performance, and there were umpteen times when the motherwell centre halfs, simply walked on to the ball. Make-shift centre halfs at that. The lad Carl McHugh.

If the ball went forward and down the centre, the 2 motherwell centre halfs were playing almost against an invisible striker. Griff rarely positioned himself between ball and opponent. He did in the first 25 minutes, but then stopped doing it. Really poor centre forward play.

Leigh is the best striker we have. imho.

He is a victim , again imho , of the Jimmy Johnstone syndrome.

He needs Brendan more than Brendan needs him.

    Hopefully Leigh understands that.

    That`s not characteristic of Leigh.

    I`ll be making allowances.

    And so , I presume , will Brendan .

Ernie`s comments give pause for thought .

  20. Still angry about our display last night .. yes we can blame the referee … yes we can blame Griff for missing the penalty…. yes Gamboa could have headed the ball before their goal…. however if we had played with the urgency and commitment that we showed AFTER they scored w would have easily won the match….for 43 mins we passed sideways and generally played backward football which is a trademark of Brendan’s teams …apparently it’s called “Possesion Football” ….well I sorry but it is so boring …that second half was awful to watch……..

I am old enough to have watched and remember our greatest managers teams and what he said about defending …” you defend in the oppositions box not in or outside your own…

    Please sort it Brendan ….

is it time to start the Rodgers Out campaign yet or shall we give him until Christmas !!!!

  25. The workers pulled the boat up, Their families and some possessions saved, they come to the biggest town, and look for help from the parish priest.

Father, 30 years now we are cutting the logs from the forest, and every year these floods get worse, we are washed out again, out homes are under water. We clear vast areas of the land, and were promised a better life than our existance before, but ever year god brings these terrible floods, and each year its worse than the year before. Why does God do this to us ?

The parish priest wants to defend God, but cant find the words, so he says, let me ask the bishop.

He calls the Bishop and says the same things, and ends with “why does God do this to this most worshipful and dutiful and believing people. The bishop says I dont know, but let me phone the Arch Bishop.

The Bishop wants to defend God, and again ask the archbishop, why does our God do these things to our people, we promise them a better life through prayer and devotion, and still the floods come, Only the businessess get bigger, and they make more money, and the people have some material things, but every year its swept away. Some people are questioning their faith. The archbishop says, this is so serious I am going to ask the pope for his guidance,

The archbishop calls the Pope, and starts with saying offcourse our god works in mysterious ways, and I need your help to settle the people and defend our god, and I want to help the people as well, every year the floods get worse and the people are affected, but when the waters recede, they must go back to cutting the logs , and making the fires, and pushing away the animals, and for this they get money and goods, and shelter , well until the next bigger flood. The pope says, I understand all that you say, I have many of our people praying to me, and telling me of these things, all around the world, they must take the resources, to make the life now, and ever year there are disasters than come worse and bigger than before, they then ask our god, “why do you do this to us, do we not pray, are we not dutiful do we come to the churches and praise you “. The pope a most learned and humble man , from a very poor beginning , is hurt and feels the pain of the people and says “i will talk to God” and surely he will tell us the way.

The Pope goes into a deep medidation, He opens up the Channel to God. Because he can. He tells God all he has heard, he is distressed but calm in telling it all, but allways he comes back to the people ask “God why do you do this to us”.

God, was waiting for this, he knew the conversation would come, he wanted it to happen, he needed the Pope to speak, and he needed the pope to hear and understand.

Francis , I do not do the things that the people suffer. I gave man free will to determine their lives, I gave them the most resourced planet , I gave then food and an abundance of water, animals and the sun and the stars and the chance to live, and the planet had enough of everything for everyone for all time. But, like in Moses time , some people take more than they need and force others to do their bidding ignoring the harm they do, they take too much and destroy too much and the impacts worsen for many millions. If we leave them to free will, the end of days will come, and in an apocalyptic way.

Francis, I gave the earth science, I gave the most intelligent people the chance to learn and influence the world for good, I gave these people the chance to discover the worst and to warn the people. Hawking and Attenborough giants of men, their voices must be heard, but they are not.

Francis, you are my representative on earth, you are my voice, you must address the people and preach the message, you must tell the people of the errors of their ways, you are me on earth and when you talk it if for me.

Francis understands, he has to speak out, he is the man on earth to represent and speak for God, The people will get the message, God does not do these things, man does, and man must fix it, or the end of days is upon us. I know when I speak I speak for God.

Francis and God are ready, they are about to go their ways, when there is a slight cough and a mumble to the side, Saint Peter slightly flustered, a little ashen faced, a little nervous, lifts his head some and asks “can I speak”.

God, says yes, my most trusted adviser, the first Pope, and my new best Pope together , you both carried me on earth, and both speak for me to the peoples. Please speak now

    Saint Peter begins,

“Oh Holy father, and all wise all knowing all powerful, all seeing , the creator of heaven and earth, and our beloved Francis, a real channel of your peace, a pope for the people , helping the people, leading the people, and now wanting to save the people, you look after 2 billion people on earth and your knowledge is unsurpassed.

well I just want to say, its all very well trying to save the planet, and all that good stuff,

but have you asked MacJay for his approval first.
