Never step into a great man’s shoes, Nadir

798

Remember Henri Camara?  Martin O’Neill paid a significant loan fee to sign him 10 years ago, in the considerable wake of Henrik Larsson.  Henri flopped and soon lost his place in the team but the weight of responsibility thrust upon his frame was considerable.  No one could come close to filling the gap left in the Celtic team.

Nadir Ciftci would do well to consider whose shoes he’s stepping into at Celtic.  Last summer’s striker signings, John Guidetti and Stefan Scepovic could hardly muster a start the second half of the season.  Leigh Griffiths, who arrived 18 months ago, got the striker’s gig most weeks, but Leigh came to Celtic with as illustrious a heritage as Nadir.

Never step into a great man’s shoes, but Nadir’s not doing that.  This is the perfect time for a striker to join Celtic, I hope he has the appetite.

I see the great and the good in the media are flogging lyrical at the prospect of a prodigy arriving from Madrid.  None of this has come from Celtic.  The player may become available at some point but I reckon it remains a hard task convincing Real his immediate future should lie in Glasgow.

The fellas you defend in the British army are part of a well paid well set up and we’ll trained army with countless people directing them and with vast knowledge of war behind them.

The young volunteers of the republican army were young men and women forced into a corner by the great elite .. Poor mainly working class people with little or no training .. Poorly equipped to start with and mostly with no previous experience of war methods .

Yet I would say the British army you keep standing up for dId a lot more wrong .. That’s not even getting into the collision and arming of loyalist deaths squads or turning a blind eye when a squaddie shot dead an unarmed person in broad daylight.

Clear to see what side of the fence you are on .

  6. Two examples where communism worked.

Cuba – economically it is not doing too well however as the army is staffed by the population they have always had the power to change it any time they want, they have not therefore it is a consensus, there are no starving or homeless unlike the bastions of the “free world” where malnutrition in children is on the rise.

Kerela – a state in India were the electorate have freely voted the communist party into power more times than any other party.

Yougoslavia – quite simply, going on what happened when capitalism regained its foothold, as we have been informed the natural way for many people is greed and that is exactly what happened in yougoslavia, is actually the perfect example of what capitalism brings. Imperialism.

Your comment that Communism was great in theory but didn’t work in practice is fair enough if you take the Soviet bloc as your example.

How can you say Capitalism works when over 50% of the world’s population lacks the basic necessities like sufficient food and running water? There must be something better and while there is such inequality in the world, the have nots will justifiably demand change. If their demands are ignored, there will be trouble and revolutionary groups/religious zealots will find many willing listeners to their message.

PvH should be working in the interests of his client. There aren’t a great deal of offers from elsewhere from him.

As I said last night,he is the same age as Stuart Armstrong, from the same club for a similar fee. His wage offer,I expect, will reflect that.

  15. CELTIC are delighted to confirm the signing of striker Nadir Çiftçi. The forward has arrived from fellow Scottish Premiership side Dundee United, putting pen to paper on a four-year deal at Celtic Park.

The 23-year-old is Celtic manager Ronny Deila’s fourth signing of the summer transfer window following in the footsteps of Dedryck Boyata, Saidy Janko and Logan Bailly.

Cuba, despite its close proximity to the Florida coast, must be considered a success, even although we would rate it as a poor country.

There are more doctors pro rata in Cuba than anywhere else in the world. The literacy rate, at 98%, is the highest in the world. As you say, they have a citizen Army which no doubt would stage a coup if there was great unrest in the population.

They have a specialist force to deal with the aftermath of hurricanes which contrasts starkly with that of their giant, superpower neighbour who sent the National Guard to protect the abandoned homes of the wealthy in the wake of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, whilst allowing a complete breakdown of law and order in the ghettos.

All this, despite an economic blockade imposed by the good ole USA.

Plus they enjoy some of the best music and dancing in the world.

I do fear for its future when Raul Castro steps down. The expat Cubans in Florida are itching to reclaim their lands and power which their grandparents abandoned in 1959.

    Viva Castro and Che Guevara!
