Newco: failing deliberately or just that incompetent?

198

With news that SPFL clubs are able to send in proxy votes from this morning in advance of the 12 May EGM, that matter could be dead today, leaving us all to wonder why Newco failed to provide their dossier of evidence against the SPFL before votes can arrive to assure they fail.

St Mirren, Hamilton Accies and Motherwell have either issued strong statements of support for the League, or, as SPFL directors, signed a letter asking clubs to support their position.  Newco, Hearts and Stranraer have to carry the vote of every other Premiership club, including Celtic, as well as 75% of the lower leagues.

If I can borrow another gambling analogy, Douglas Park may be sitting with four aces in his hand, but if he does not know when play his cards, he will inevitably lose.  The issue has moved on from the competency of the SPFL board, to the sheer incompetency of those who purport to “hold their feet to the fire” to get out of bed early enough to play the game.

The requisitioners seem full of paranoid self-righteousness, but pent-up rage in an echo chamber achieves nothing if you miss deadlines and the process needed for success.  Newco have made this look like a lazy half-arsed attempt at insurrection.  The only questions is, is this a deliberate attempt to fail, or are they just that incompetent?  My money is on the latter.

And do you know what will bother Newco the most?  Check how they led the media in the early days, this was presented as a Newco v Celtic issue.  It became Newco v St Mirren, Hamilton Accies, Motherwell, Dundee etc.  The unsurpassed indignity.  Celtic are on the metaphorical beach, our work is done for the season.

  1. Good morning CQN from a rain soaked Garngad

Gordybhoy 64 sorry I fell asleep last night buddy, yes played with the marbles on stanks

Terje – Fess – Boggie for us as weans as well

Big Jimmy – I do remember some people calling marbles bools

Also remember making all sorts of thins skate board from a roller skate, crossbow, bow and arrow, sling, darts for the crossbow from sharpened wooden cloths pegs.

Nae play stations for us wee imaginative nutters

Anyway have we got our well deserved and earned 9th title yet

    D. :)

  2. I would expect/hope that the SPFL MAY announce the “Numbers” of Clubs who may Vote by Proxy before May 12th, in order that it becomes perfectly obvious that any EGM set for May 12th is a complete waste of time and money, due to the result/calculations of any proxy votes by the Clubs….

No doubt the Huns will try and find fault with that process, although if the SPFL DID announce the result of a Proxy vote before EVERY Club had voted, if only to show that any proposed EGM is utterly meaningless, as enough Clubs have voted against the Huns/Hertz/Stranraer resolution BEFORE May 12th…the Huns would still complain.

As for the original Dundee “Vote” that was apparently misdirected into the SPFL SPAM Mail…that is perfectly feasible, as Ive had one or two Energy Bills that would normally land in my Inbox…but have somehow found their way into my Junk/Spam mail, including the Bill for this Month. I almost deleted it by mistake.

IF the SPFL were guilty of any pre planned wrongdoing/skullduggery in relation to the Voting…why did they single out Dundee FC…and not any other Club ?

Why have Dundee FC NOT complaining or taking the SPFL to task, as they would have had every right to complain etc, IF they believed that the SPFL had acted wrongly ?

The SPFL have claimed that the original Dundee vote was after 5pm on Good Friday, and also ( when eventually found), in the SPFL SPAM/Junk mail….but 5pm was NOT an actual “Deadline” as such…as ALL Clubs had a further 27 Days to vote….and/or change any original Vote if they wished during that in full 28 Day period ?

What part of that “28 Day Process/ Deadline” do the Huns NOT understand ?

IF the Huns ADMITTED that they were fully aware of the 28 Day Process etc, why didnt they PROVIDE their so called “Evidence” during THAT Period….as to do so …and IF their “Evidence” was strong…that would allow EVERY other Club to re consider their original Vote of backing the SPFL…within that time period of 28 Days ?

  3. DAVID66…

We also used to put a Tennis Ball into a womans Nylon stocking and tie a know the opening of the stocking and then launch them into the air as high as possible….many a Mammy or Gran Maw would be left with only one Stocking when trying to get dressed…as usually those stockings/tennis ball would end entangled in telephone Lines/Wires etc for Days and Weeks.

    Stay safe.

  4. Know nowt perfectly describes the Hun board.

Have they published their interim results or are they in a Junk folder somewhere in the ether?

  5. Bogies. We used the wheels from a pram frame. A plank of wood, a wooden box, preferably a banana box, and a rope pinched from my maw’s clothes line.

Raced them down the hill. Thank God cars were few and far between.

  6. Restrictions are starting to ease here. Golf courses likely to open soon as well as public parks.

Why parks were closed beats me.

  7. Big Jimmy – was the wimmin still wearing the stocking/tights😂😂😂

  8. One for the “coincidence theorists”

Dr Fauci has been funding research on deadly bat viruses at the laboratory in Wuhan China.

The research was to take these naturally occurring deadly bat viruses and engineer them so as they could be passed to humans.

Nasty unethical work that was stopped in the US by Obama after many scientists expressed their concerns. The experiments were restarted 2 years ago !

  9. weet weet weet on

    .

    Looking back……..how did some of us “auld yins” survive? from the 30’s, 40’s, 50’s, 60’s & 70’s?

As children we would ride in cars with no seatbelts or airbags.

Our cots were covered in brightly coloured lead based paint.

We had no child-proof lids on medicine bottles.  We rode our bikes we had no helmets.

We would spend hours building go-karts out of scrap and then ride them down hills

only to find out we forgot the brakes..

No-one was able to reach us there was no mobile phones.

We suffered cuts, and broken bones and teeth, but there were no suing. they were accidents.

No-one was to blame, but us. Remember accidents??

We had fights, punched each other and got black and blue and learned to get over it.

We ate cakes, bread and butter, and drank ginger, but we were never overweight. because we were always outside playing.

We shared a drink with friends from one bottle and no-one died from this.

We did not have Playstations or X-boxes, 65 channels on pay TV, video films. DVD`s, mobiles computers, Internet chatrooms-we had friends. We went outside and found them.

We rode bikes or walked to a friend`s home and rung the doorbell, or just walked in and talked to them. imagine such a thing, without asking your Ma or da!! By ourselves..Out there in the cold cruel world.

    How did we do it??

Footie and netball had trials and not everyone made the team.

Those who didn`t had to learn to deal with disappointment.

Our actions were our own. No-one to hide behind

The idea of your Ma or Da bailng you out if you broke a law was unheard of,

they actually sided with the law-imagine that!!

This generation produced some of the best risk takers, problem solvers and inventors ever.

The past 50years has been an explosion of innovation.

We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility and we learned how to deal with it all. Congratulations!!

I am not one who believes strongly in the `Good Old Days` but I thought that was a cracking and accurate post.

Talking of the Good Old Days , I used to have a wee poem on my Classroom Notice Board :

    `These are the Good Old Days;

Just you wait and see. `

I think it was Carl Sandberg but I cannot find it anywhere. Anyone?

  17. Tim Malone Will Tell on

    Paul 67 et al – a genuine question…

What would have happened if Dundee’s original e-mail had not been “lost”?

If votes for all 42 clubs had been cast and counted, would SPFL have been expected to…

    1. Announce a definitive result

    2. Announce a provisional result – the proviso being that clubs had another 28 days to review and revise their position

    3. Don’t announce any result – but use the 28 days to encourage clubs to review and revise their position in the background

In respect of how their voting procedure works, is there a different process for proposals put together by the SPFL board as opposed to proposals put together by an individual club?

  18. Peter Purves fae Blue Peter was on Good Morning Britain….he’s 81 ffs, looks great for his age

  23. KJ’s Q&A with Doncaster is perhaps a new low in impartial journalism. A few of his questions here for your amusment:

    1. KJ: The general consensus is that you’re guilty either of incompetence or corruption. Which one is it?

    2. KJ: Is the SPFL guilty of a lack of contrition?

    3. KJ: Rangers must have a reason for calling for your suspension. What have they got on you?

    4. KJ: Given the extent of damage done to your relationship with Rangers do you agree your position is untenable?

  24. The huns are hoping that their resolution gets scuppered by proxy votes. Then they don’t have to show their ‘evidence’.

All clubs need to sit tight and demand sight of the dossier.

Do not let them off this hook.
