After edging ever-closer to a deal for weeks, it looks certain Patrick Roberts will not be playing for Celtic next season. You are well-aware Celtic have been desperate to secure his permanent signing from Manchester City, but I have it on good authority that the club and player are now looking elsewhere.
Brendan Rodgers has both budget and ambition for the season ahead and Patrick was a big part of those plans, but the manager has now moved attention elsewhere (and I don’t mean to Aberdeen).
Patrick blossomed here, in particular during the second half of last season. He is an entertainer in the great Celtic tradition, but I have confidence in the manager to deliver what is required for the challenges ahead.
We wish Patrick all the best and thank him for a great 18 months.

TET … sounds like a good day to jump in the pool/have a nice dinner in the shade…. funny, when we moved to Canada, I hated the cold… but, now, I am so used to it, I actually prefer it … I run about all winter in shorts … but once summer comes and it gets over 30 degrees, I struggle. I dont know that I could handle the heat like you guys have ….
although there is nothing better than flying out of Toronto in a cold snowy february, and a few hours later, stepping out of a plane onto a hot caribbean island!

He was great entertainment value in the last few months but had added finish to his trickery. I loved the trickery stuff.
Whilst Hayes does not have the same trickery I think he will be equally as effective in finishing terms as Paddy, especially in Scotland where he has proved it against the best defence in the country, and less we forget, if we don’t do it in Scotland there is no Europe to test guys like Hayes at that level.
I hope Paddy Roberts makes a great success of his footballing career and enjoys it half as much as he did playing for the great Glasgow Celtic where greatness is not measured in financial terms alone but in the values the support associate them with.
