Not interested in your “Where’s the fixtures” patter

488

I appreciate there are people wanting to book flights and other travel arrangements, but I’m not interested in your “Where’s the fixtures?” patter.  No one else cares or is concentrating on who Celtic will play when they win the league, others have thoughts only for the Scottish Cup semi-finals.

Get Sunday wrong and it will be our last meaningful game of the season.  Whether the police are stuck in the last century or not makes no difference, but take our eye off the ball as we prepare for the weekend and things go wrong.  Look at St Mirren for an example of a club and support which spent energy planning a title party but lost to the worst Dundee United team in over 40 years.

Sunday is the only fixture we have. Literally. Keep our heads in the game.

I’ll only be able to see two of those matches. No thought given to nightshift workers.

And little thought either to those travelling from distance, like in Ireland or England, etc.

Absolute rubbish selection of times and dates.

  2. Hibs v Celtic, 20/4/18 19.45

    Celtic v Rangers, 29/4/18 12.00

    Hearts v Celtic, 4/5/18, 19.45

    Celtic v Aberdeen, 8/5/18, 19.45

    Celtic v Kilmarnock, 13/5/18, 12.30

  3. Surely it’s for the players and management to keep their head in the game.

It’s a perfectly reasonable expectation for supporters to want to when matches will take place.

The tone of the article is startling.

  4. What about the posters who have dogs? They have to organise dog sitters so they can to the game or the pub and have no worries?

    Woof Woof

    Bit harsh.

Plod’s concern is that winning the league against the huns will cause them to behave like, well, huns.

    That’s a realistic view.

I’m all for down playing The Old Firm rivalry, and if that involves manipulating the fixture list then that’s fine by me.

Though I realise it’s bad for business.

Thankfully the players will be thinking only of Sunday. It is our Irish and far flung support I feel for regarding the five league matches.

Looking for info re game on Sunday. Normally park near Neeson’s and walk to park from there but Old Father Time winning the battle and not only a long walk but takes me ages now.

Wondered if anyone knew if CCB and 2 daughter’s could get transport on Brazen Head bus if we went there before game.

At the moment choices are drink in Kilwinning go to nearest place to park(need to set out really early), stop at Flying Horse on way there,(could leave A bit later) or forget libations and go straight to game!( not really an option there?) or saved by the Brazen Head.

    BTW where has TD67 gone?

  8. Wow

So all you bhoys who need to travel and organise flights boats ferries etc, shove yer “ where’s the Fixtures “ patter.

Only the semi final matters and you know when that is.

    So shut up.

That’s the tone of the message.

    Astonishing.

This site is becoming more like the Celtic board by the day.

    Pay up, shut up.

Easy to say, Paul, but there’s a massive big “title decider” coming up. A real “must win” against our arch rivals “Rangers” who can also win the title. You only need to hear what the MSM are saying…..

Only word of caution is that it grows arms and legs and burst your budget! You then have to get more kit/upgrade kit/get new speakers/but hunners mair albums – all on the fly!

When I was 13 DSOTM came out and my mates older brother was already into Pink Floyd so us youngsters had already dabbled; safe to say we were all truly blown away by it; then came Wish You were Here! Fully converted by that time.

Another memorable album we used to listen to at that time was Who Live at Leeds! Those along with Hunky Dory, Ziggy Stardust, Transformer, Electric Warrior, Past Present and Future, Tubular Bells and Piledriver formulated my young teenage musical mind.

  12. Maybes if the polis took their heads out of the masonic handbook, stopped harking back to the shug dallas game in 1999 and transported themselfs into this centuary, was it not a few short months ago at the bigot dome our captain was assaulted on the pitch, coins, lighters and batteries were thrown at Celtic players, Celtic players were racially abused, the coloured ones, the Irish ones are always racially abused, wall to wall sectarian chanting and singing, wallowing in Fenian blood, illegal anti-Irish,Celtic marches condoned by the police, jeez I could go on for pages and pages but you get the drift.

How long did the outrage last about the assault, the throwing of batteries, coins et all at our players, it wasn’t even twenty mins let alone twenty years.

The sooner they die a proper death the better for society.

Aye , and what about people who have cheese to toast , or roast in order to make toasted cheese, roasted cheese, cheese on toast or a cheese toastie. They need time to decide which one to go for , before they leave for the game.

I was wondering about TD67 as well.

Place isn’t the same without him.

  15. Cosycornerbhoy, my big mate drives a fast black and drops me and my other mate over to Hamdump when we play the huns. I will be leaving from the Gallowgate around 1:30 so you are welcome to meet us there and get a lift. I’m assuming there are only 3 of you.

Did you see The Who live at Celtic Park with SAHB? My older cousins and neighbours went in numbers to that gig. They still talk about it as one of the best ever. I got Live at Leeds as compensation.

When I read the first par of that article I thought it was an ironic piss-take aimed at The Blazers.

Sadly, it seems to be serious.

So, living in Oslo, if I want to see a game at CP I have to organise time off work, shop around for cheap flights, arrange ground travel connections, fix up hotels, all of which is only possible given a bit of notice, obviously the more notice the better/cheaper.

Believe it or not, Paul, it is possible to concentrate on the SC Semi on Sunday while also trying to arrange a visit to Paradise before the end of the season, a visit that becomes less and less likely thanks to the SPFL’s ongoing incompetence.

Sorry Paul67, but the tone of that article is boorish, sententious and unbelievably patronising.
