One day in Fife

519

Over 70 CQN’ers gathered in Aberdour, Fife, on Friday for our eighth annual charity golf day.  As before, the day was hugely successful.  Both those there on the day, and hundreds more who contributed beforehand, raised over £6,000 since we kicked off the summer’s fundraising activity in May.

This year LIvingston manager and former Celtic player, John Hughes, gave his time to entertain us with a mixture of great anecdotes and outrageous anecdotes.  The big man spoke warmly of his time at Celtic, the joy of signing and working for Tommy Burns, that goal at Ibrox, and how he still benefits from his time learning from Tommy.

Many sincere thanks to Taggsy, BlantyreKev, Jonnybhoy, Barassiebhoy for organising an excellent event yet again.  A special mention for Oldtim, for more than I am prepared to tell you, and to everyone who contributed to an excellent Celtic occasion.

What a burst of power from Bolt!

The USA guy seems to lack humility… All the posing after winning his Quali earlier…what was that all about? Then shooting along with the stars and bars after winning bronze lo

Didn’t seem to be enjoying himself at all.

    Hmmmm

The Jamaican boys seem to be genuinely enjoying themselves

Nice way about them and look forward to seeing them in Glasgow 2014

I know what you mean. I saw myself as well (although I had to press pause and look very closely!) as I was near where Sammi took a boot in the mouth.

Funny, I was thinking along the same lines on Saturday.

YNWA has been great but nearly everything has a shelf life. I believe the great Celtic Park renditions of YNWA are all in the past. Even if they are not, I don`t like the timing of it at the start of the game.

  3. Haven’t scrolled back.

Anyone on Twiiter may want to check out @PleasanceElite who has tweeted about standing in ‘glass range’ of our club captain. Disgraceful.

Sorry mate disagree we have being doing great Walk Ons for over 40 years

It is the iconic rallying song and stirs the blood like no other song we sing…. Even Hail Hail cannot match it for sheer emotion and passion

Some dj and bad timing will never change the impact of the song now or on the future

    YNWA

Missed it myself. Though quite frankly the sevco BBC can stick it where the sun don’t shine.

  7. YNWA will never date, ever.

It will always be our special anthem.

    However,

Overuse is not advisable. We all know when it is a massive positive.

A Celtic supporter can feel it. You instinctively know when it is just right.

It will always be the same.

    YNWA.

So Keevins thinks we shld listen to what swallter is saying? Is this the same swallter that was manager of the team that brot all this trouble to our game and now he’s to be its saviour? I dont think so!!

    Souptaker supreme!!

  9. Nice gesture from Bolt and Blake.

Wearing the Donegal colours out of respect.

ttt – I would include the huddle in that, not just YNWA. Keep the huddle for the really important games!

I agree that we should start the second half with a really uplifting song, not YNWA.

The same Walter who has nothing to say about why he had one EBT at Everton and another one at Scotland. Odd that

MacKay-Steven continues to impress and Johnny Russell did well for United. I think the former could well end up in the Hoops down the line.

  16. HIbs had a fairly big support at Utd today, fair few empty seats in the Utd end. Also the minis had plenty of empty seats for their first home game of the season.

Know a few hibbies and minis that aren’t renewing their ST this year, nothing to do with the huns just no money or no interest.

Why should we listen to Walter Smith? This is a man who, according to Richard Gough and himself, would sit with David Murray and work out all player bonuses and payments before the season began. Are they trying to tell us they didn’t know these were illegal? So,again, why should we listen to him?

Walter and wee Doddsy are only getting their pleas in mitigation ready— I wasn’t there– I was told the tax was paid ( By the way going by his previously released statements– Dodds could be an absolutely key witness in proceedings against Murray! )– I didn’t know it was illegal— I don’t deal with these things, it was my agent……. please don’t take ny job away— I earned that £2m……. etc etc

But the detailed evidence from the FTT and elsewhere may well blow a hole in their ship……….

    Great expectations.

Wednesday night is going to be all about how neil and the team cope with this. Last year our young team out performed any expectation I had away from home. It would be great if we had a bit more experience in european football but we have to go with what we have got. These boys out performed the expectation we had away from home last year. We are a young team with what is most important, confidence.

Saturday I think we missed the speed a direct play of forrest and in turn with no one on the right meant matthews never got a chance to get forward as often. We got the win that was most important but a positive from the game was we got a clean sheet, we were solid at the back. Helsinki are not a team that looked like they could break us down. The goal came down to our own errors.

I think it will come down to how well our midfield covers the defence. Let wanyama, our best player so far, and kayal hold the midfield. Ledley supporting emilio and brown doing the same for adam. Let forrest run at them and hopefully hooper is told to do his work in the box.

After wednesday showing, helsinki are there for the taking. Both we and the players know this. As a club we define who we are, we should be in the champions league.

    Great Expectations.

Hello bhoys and ghirls, just a post to say that so far we have raised £3,000.80 in badge sales and donations for Oscar, as there are still badge costs to come in this figure will rise even more. – http://www.justgiving.com/CQNbadges

Myself and CRC would like to thank you all for the generosity you have all shown during this.

During this raising of funds etc it has been very humbling and I feel honoured to have assisted in this for such a great cause.

Once again thank you all for this
