Pathetic opportunists who are miles behind the curve

440

You will not hear supporters or staff at an opposing club with a bad word to say about Graeme Murty.  He took over a shambles of a football club and for several months matched results with anyone in the league.  Twice he took Newco to Celtic Park and left with a point, but the man is a football coach, not a miracle worker.  The disparity in resources would eventually tell.

Against the might of Brendan Rodger’s Celtic for a third, fourth and fifth time he experienced increasingly worse defeats.  No one was surprised by this, the Newco board even tried to sell these results as “ahead of the curve”, but there was a fundamental issue that made it difficult for Murty to remain in position – he was sabotaged.

The evening before a game at Celtic Park, news leaked (and was not contradicted by the club) that Steven Gerrard agreed terms to become Newco manager.  This came a day after Murty spoke about his chances of keeping the job if he won the four remaining league games.  It was degrading and prioritised the position of the board over results on the field.

Dave King made a similar comment about the future Newco manager just days before his team faced Celtic in the Scottish Cup semi-final two weeks ago.  That statement coincided with season ticket renewal letters.

What could Murty say after losing 5-0 at Celtic Park?  We did our best but last night someone, who travelled with us on the team bus today, leaked that I was soon to be removed from my position?  Whatever exchanges took place between the manager and his employers, a common purpose was difficult to imagine.

Inevitably, there has been some pullback on the Gerrard ‘news’.  It seems matter is not as clear-cut as was believed on Sunday morning.  I spoke to Peter Lawwell before the appointment of Brendan Rodgers.  Brendan wanted to come and the Celtic board were equally keen, but Peter was clear: until a deal was signed, no one really knew what would happen.  He had not committed to deliver anyone in particular, but he was nervous.

Promising a new manager the evening before you visit Celtic Park might take the edge of the inevitable pain for some, even at the cost of undermining your manager, but you had better deliver on that leak.  Otherwise, you will look like pathetic opportunists who are exploiting the trust of your fans and are miles behind the curve.

    ………………

I don’t define Celtic by them, but I do enjoy watching Karma operate on them.

They aspire to have a club as well run as Celtic, but can’t say that.

They desperately want to beat us by any means available to them, and so they are a relevant force that we have to deal with as part of our business of winning trophies.

Their culture & bigotry are less & less relevant in the real world & the fact that they knowlingly lie to each other to justify signings, sackings, takeovers, administrations & liquidations makes it a great spectacle.

As for Mr Gerrard, he seems conflicted.

His vanity wants to believe the words that come out of King’s mouth but his head sggests caution.

His advisors can ask for whatever they want in writing to help him shove over the line, but contracts, agreements & deals mean nothing to King when he thinks his own needs are better served elsewhere.

Best predictor of future behaviour is pervious behaviour.

If Gerrad thinks that he can overcome the seriously dysfunctional board, the criminally untrustworthy chairman, the permanently entitled fanbase, the lack of funds/investment, the questionable financial oversight, the fractured team spirit while at the same time attracting better players AND coaching them into a cohesive unit – then his first misjudgement is there for all to see.

If that club thinks that things will improve by appointing another rookie coach with even less experience than Murty, while changing nothing else about their organisation – then they should start prepping for the certainty of litigation when Gerrad is “resigned”.

  19. In this mornings Herald.

REGULATORS have taken legal action to compel Rangers chairman Dave King to make a judge-ordered £11 million bid for most of the club’s shares.

It has emerged that the Takeover Panel has been granted a court order which also forbids any attempt by Mr King’s South African-based Laird Investments (Proprietary) Limited from making the mandatory offer to thousands of shareholders without a third party confirming that the funds to support it are there.

The Rangers chief has already been told that he is in breach of takeover rules by failing to make the bid.

Sipsini thanks for the reply last night unfortunately I had fallen asleep.

Without seeming to come across as big headed, I am in a good salaried job and if I did drink one of these drinks with such a price rise I could afford it, but I woould take a stance and not buy it. I wonder what these companies who make these drinks think of this, because surely this will put some of them out of business, (or at least make a dent on their profits), if the consumer turn their noses up at this and look elswhere for a cheaper/ more affordable drink.

Again I think it is a ridiculous attack on low incomes, hard working people who enjoy a responsible drink at the weekend. Why should they have to pay for other people’s failings.

Greenpinata @ 6.33am I agree wholeheartedly with your post. Shocking that this has been allowed to happen.

  26. Stevie G is jist the start.

Rainjurs were booted in the balls at the Supreme Court, by a familiar score 5-0.

But, what has happened to them since ?

    Hee Haw!

Now, a lot of folk on here might not like this, or probably all of you won’t like it, but, well, its like this…..

Rainjurs FC will only die when,….

    A. Celtic supporters sack the PLC board and, construct a board for the club who will fight corruption.

    Or,…..

    B. Scottish football’s leaders decide to shut doon Scottish football, before Celtic reach ten in a row!

    But, here’s the painful bit,…

Celtic supporters, only two years ago, were asked to make a decision, the outcome of which, could have led to Scottish football being closed down, under investigation re: All shades of the recent events since, eh, let’s say, 2009, when the financial situation at Ibrox first came to light, more or less, Celtic supporters were “tested” by the PLC board, to see if they were all talk about the Celtic supporters regard of the standing of the fudge of, the Sevco / Rainjurs Same Club Lie. Well, sadly, the Celtic support failed the PLC test.

Ye see, imho, the real reason that Brendan Rodgers was brought to Celtic, was to enable the PLC to fudge the same club lie issue.

The PLC’s sleekit plan was to get Celtic supporters to rubber stamp the same club lie by getting them to buy Old Firm tickets for £49 coz, when Celtic supporters agreed to be charged that price of £49, the dispute about Rainjurs dying…..ended.

The PLC board must have had a right old party that night, a wonder if Fergus was there ?

But, what really did happen, was,……

Celtic supporters let the establishment know that, Celtic supporters are all talk.

And, as a consequence of that,……

Stevie G. will be the new Souness, backed by dark money off the pitch, backed by compliant MIBs on the pitch.

£49 Rangers FC will be subject to no regulation, on or off the pitch.

This might be the second year from the return of £49 Rangers FC into the top league, that they’ll be granted a European licence without having to submit their accounts, do they even have accounts ?

See at the end of the day, Celtic supporters should have led from the front by, refusing the £49 Old Firm tickets and same club status until, all the £140 million was paid back, and, all tainted trophies to be stripped, or, Celtic supporters would effect the changes to the structure of Celtic FC by fashioning a board who would recognise Sevco as a new club, and, would legally pursue the SFA / SPL / SPFL, for facilitating the racketeering of the old Rangers FC, when Sevco / £49 Rangers FC came into the top league again two years ago.

Two years ago, Celtic supporters were blind sided by the arrival of Brendan the pub team skelper, and, as a result of the Celtic support being easily played by the sleekit PLC’s £49 trick, the message that the PLC have bellowed oot the Parkheid chimney to their, establishment Old Firm mongering cabal is…..

….”Don’t worry about rebellion from the Celtic support of 2018, we’ll kid them on that we’re on the case of the Compliance Officer, till we shift 53,000 season books, then yeez can use them as yer pawns, cheat them, jile them, we wulny look, jist like last time ; ”

    Guid luck.
