If you were a professional football player, you would love to be in the Celtic dressing room tomorrow evening. You would have the perfect opportunity to challenge yourself; put in a big, meaningful performance. Record a bit of history and create a uniquely memorable victory.
There are some players who are fraught with anxiety on such occasions, but there are others who NEED these games, need an edge, to reach their peak. If we have a team full of the latter, Legia are in for a torrid night.
I’m doing my best to ignore the naked opportunism in our media this week. There is no point complaining about it, lose heavily and you become vulnerable to those who live to revel in a Celtic defeat. Don’t lose and you don’t give them (friends and foes alike) a chance.
We’ve been here before. Artmedia, Braga, Utrecht, Sion (despite the reprieve) and Karagandy all exposed an aching heart. European football is unforgiving, try to transition and you’ll find someone ready to exploit, but that doesn’t mean you are wrong to transition.
We might talk about this transition more later in the month but we have a game to win first. Can’t wait.
Check out the fantastic work by the cyclists who are taking part in the Paradise to Cardenden Cycle 2014 on 6 September. You can join them – all you need is a bike. Get involved, you’ll be delighted you did, I promise. Read about it here.

St Stivs, the Steve McQueen Le Mans one is a relatively new release from them.
You’re right, it is a belter but as the Great Escape has Steve at his coolest. my next purchase from them will be the one of him on his motor bike.
If anyone is a Ramones fan, they do a t shirt with a picture of the band with a Celtic crest running through it.
The just can’t get enough one is another cracker.
Celtic marketing need to improve their act when an outside company makes more popular & innovative gear relating to our club.

As opposed to us having to read your constant posts all night
It’s a blog friend …it’s what happens on it …right ? Right!
Has the Albion Rovers player kicked a ball since Mc Culloch ended his season??
When we were under Thatcher’s boot, I remember waking up the morning after every election in despair. Why didn’t we vote for independence ?
Scotland wanted a socialist government then and now. As part of the UK we will never achieve that.
It’s simple really.

There is a space in my car, if Brad needs a lift to Murrayfield tomorrow?

Really, you don’t think that is indicative of the way Salmond thinks ?
And you want me not to vote ?

JJ- The play offs were invented to give the huns a dog’s chance of promotion.
Correct. 5th place in their division gets you a playoff place and a crack at promotion.

Well that show will fairly collapse the ST strike at Ibrox.
They really are a desperate bunch, although, allowance should be made for jet lag after the strenuous N.American Travelling Circus Show.
BT
No idea ….
The judicial system is very different …
The Legal Aid budget is only a part of it …I have to deal with their bollox legislation……proposed by idiots …written by fools
What’s this play off nonsense ??

Mystic Glen predicts……….
that Sevco will finish games against 9 or 10 opponents and be awarded many more penalties than any other team in their division this season.
It must be the pure, stylish, cultured football they play that their opponents can’t handle………….
The secret is out

MWD says AYE as long as Shetland doesn’t want Independence from Scotland :-)
Cue the MSM going into overdrive to slate Salmond & praise Darling…first up – 5 dummies on ITV news ‘concluding’ that Salmond = bad Darling = good.
Crivvens.

I watched that useless bugger mcaskil on tv tonight then had the misfortune of watching lamont immediately after..
what Scotland needs is some decent politicians. That would be a start…
macj ….
No I don’t think that’s what neil meant. That event is very well known.
He talked about ‘ousting’ Thatcher.
That’s why I asked as I had no recollection of such an opportunity.

You should have gone to Luz, plenty of Tims and didn’t see a Hun the entire time we were there!
Can someone remind me of the guarantees we’ve had from the nats on when this free election will happen, has there even been a timescale mentioned ?
And archdeacon… Aye, I believe sectarianism is the single biggest problem in Scotland
BT
Quite
Delaney’s, he certainly would.
If you are out soon for a beer or smoke with your fellow doobie brother, pass on my regards.
The first time I remember seeing him was after the Ibrox 4 2 game.
I was on a nine and stopped at Whiteinch, near the entrance of the tunnel. He was wearing an O’ Neill’s Ireland top and a tricolour wrapped round him.
When I got to know him, he told me he had walked though the pedestrain part of the Clyde Tunnel on his todd, after getting separated from the people he was with, after the game. .

Your not voting for or against Alex Salmond.
If that is what you think the referendum is about, then you haven’t understood it, hence any vote you cast is wasted.
Vote No and say yes to a privatised NHS.
Vote No and risk never having a government even close to being socialist again. The next time the Tories get a majority or a right leaning coalition they will put through the bill to redraw constituencies around 60k populations. This will massively skew the distribution of seats towards the South East. The only reason it didn’t go through this parliament is that the Lib Dems wouldn’t back down over reform to the House of Lords.
Last post should say 4th place not 5th.

Are you suggesting that you don’t believe there’ll be a free election? Or that if it’s not within a timescale that suits you then we’re better off sticking with Westminster rule indefinitely?
Vespacide
Oh dear ….
AD hominem attacks ..poor show and so unnecessary …not to mention rude
blantyretim
I agree. The calibre of Scottish politicians is very poor. Many of them struggle to put together a coherent sentence, never mind articulate a policy. Leadership? Aye right!!
Oh I see the Nats are out to bully us all again tonight

Congratulations to HURRICANE OIL.
But the higher than expected daily output from that field is around a tenth of that in the BP oil spill in the gulf.
BT, you are bang on the money with the lack of good Scottish politicians.
I expect your workload to increase drastically over the next few years with the upcoming changes in the benefits system and going by previous posts you have made, its excessive as it is.
BBC money guy, Paul Lewis, has tweets on the Etims feed about JSA sanctions and how some can be upto four years.
Im attending a debate on independence tomorrow hosted by the scottish campaign on welfare reform..
I would report back but will be too busy watching the hoops gaining entry into the cl play off..
