Prima Facie Day!

865

Prima facie day is here!  Neil Doncaster spent weeks telling us that the SPL had yet to establish if Rangers had a prima facie case to answer in connection with the alleged illegal registration of players.  Today he confirmed to the SPL board and the media that they do indeed have a case to answer.

Rangers Employee Benefit Trusts have been the source of considerable controversy since 2010 when it emerged that HMRC had taken action against the club, at the time claiming in the region of £24m.  EBTs had been recorded on Rangers accounts for a decade without much comment, so there was no reason to assume the club had made payments to players out-with the oversight of the football authorities.

On 22 February this year Celtic Quick News asked the question, were these EBT payments recorded with the SFA, or did Rangers hide them?  There was little reason for the club to hide them, unless, perhaps, they had something to else hide, which was beginning to look the case.

Today we have our answer.  Whatever is left of what some regard to be Rangers FC will be subject to some of the most severe disciplinary procedures levelled in the history of football.  Appropriate penalties for subverting the game for over a decade are impossible to define.

Celtic fans are not the only ones to lose from this illegal registration of players but they suffered significantly.  Five league titles went to Rangers, in 2003, 2005, 2009, 2010 and 2011.  All of these titles will be stripped from Rangers records and awarded to Celtic.

You can look forward to 12-in-a-row day soon, which is simply, CHAMPION!

Clubs could abstain if they want.

Sevco needs 8 votes in total, regardless of how many abstain – or even fail to turn up. A 7 – 0 vote with 5 abstentions and they are not in.

Saw ‘Thirds’ play a few times, usually against Celtic. Last game I saw we won 3 – 1.

    Nice wee ground was Cathkin.

Back in the day …………..as they say. Back in the day.

We’re not sure. Some of us think they are and others think they’re still on life support.

  5. Stop talking about a boycott.

    It won’t happen.

Neil Lennon will say he wants the fans there and that will be an end to it.

cheers for the reply,i feel it may be easier for some to abstain rather than be

seen to actively vote against a newco

  7. Is this Chris Graham character a professionally qualified journalist- I know that goes for little, in terms of credibility, in Scotland- or is he merely a hurting hun with a typewriter with at least a rudimentary grasp of grammar? I know by hun standards that makes him an intellectual but the obnoxious buzz from his blog should mean he is nowhere near a mainstream pedestal. This is a guy who has been wheeled out on STV. That is a disgrace. But then they have a track record in terms of the clearly unvetted Mingwall adumbrated as some sort of expert. It is an absolute embarrassment that a major national broadcaster does not, or worse, maybe even doesn’t care, about the qualifications of its guests. But then this is what we have collectively come to expect from the mainstream media in this country- institutional amateurishness.

Graham seems to work on the sophistry of a basic tautology: All Celtic fans hate Rangers ( now defunct). All those who hate Rangers ( now defunct) are it’s enemies. Therefore all Celtic fans are the enemy of Rangers (now defunct). That is his basic assumption. He suggests that if you are in the business of pointing out Rangers bigoted history and have sectarian problem then they must be an “enemy”. He passes this a vacuous truth. He asserts that these people must be outed, maybe even hints that they should be made to pay. This guy is only one notch above pathological paranoic and home made window cleaner connoisseur “Leggo the Looney”- it’s all tenuous links as a pretext for a grand “crypto-conspiracy”…it’s all seen as the evidence of the Hobbesian operation of the unseen giant green hand of Fenianism. These guys have obviously done their painstaking research. Who are we to argue with their more outlandish conclusions?

Those quotes from Mike Small from the Bella Caledonia Blog are to a certain extent tongue in cheek and fairly innocent: only a twisted hurting hun could see anything sinister in these comments. Graham describes Mike’s words as a “spew of hatred”. I would normally associate that level of verbal venom he describes from a Neo-Nazi site or the EDL. I haven’t seen any evidence of this level of bitter execration from the Bella Caledonia Blog- Mr Graham’s interpretation is not a a very novel or creative exercise of hyperbole. Clearly Graham has never logged onto either the FF/RangersMedia sites. What is it with this former club who legally threatened the BBC/banned the media when journalists had the audacity to ask simple, honest, straight-forward questions that are allowed and even encouraged in a healthy democracy- but how they question THE PEOPLE? What exactly is the world coming to when these upstarts have carte blanche to ask such brazen questions?

Why are the huns so obsessed with Peter Lawell? It’s very disturbing. Lenny, McClone, Keevins, even Kelly or anyone with a suspiciously sounding Irish surname are all “the enemy”. Hugh Keevins- biased? This has to be the definitive proof that the hinges of this imposter’s mind has been ripped from its fragile mooring’s. I repeat: Hugh Keevins is biased towards Celtic! Hahahaha…and this guy say’s Celtic fans are paranoid! After his paranoid rant that is designed to excite the destructive emotions of the primordial hordes he then accuses Keevin’s of stoking hatred! Now we are into Bermuda Triangle territory! He is hoping to suck many a dejected hun into his vile vortex.

This semi-coherent hun is articulating the atavistic rage of the deranged horde- like given voice to the inarticulate chaos of the beast.

But he never asks the crucial question: why do the huns need an enemy? have they not single handedly destroyed themselves- the huns are their own worst enemies- but instead al we get is typical hun deflection, projection, never their fault, they are never wrong, it’s always someone else’s fault etc…with his emotionally charged and hyper subjective words such as “hate” he is deliberately attempting to cattle prod the mindless rudderless horde towards a cataclysmic denouement of “mass” violence and general unrest. It’s a crude and clear attempt to shake the blind brutes cage. If anything guys like Graham on the blogosphere show the dangers of crackpot fans with keyboard access and journalism that has no grounding in evidence based research.

A word concerning his use of the word “hun”- a term used by non-Celtic fans incidentally: any hun who thinks hun is a sectarian term is either a bore, a moron, being deliberately obtuse or is a bigot themselves. The fact that Graham is an unalloyed bigot and nothing but a mouthpiece for the worst elements of the primeval tribe is his insistence on connecting “ice-cream & jelly” with child-abuse…now this is the very lowest of the low and only proves he has firmly nailed all his cancerous colours to his sectarian mast ( and in public too). What afirst prize wally. This just further reinforces the disgrace of the STV allowing such a heinous individual to peddle his execrable views to the general public. These diddies cannot help themselves, the other night on Newsnight Scotland, some hun historian brogue wearing white socked mammy’s boy reacted to accusations of hun cheating: he conjured up some piffle about how Aberdeen had broke the rules of fair play by avoiding relegation by using SPL rules on stadia requirements. Whataboutery in full flow! Rangers should be punished, but…how many times have we heard this jaded old MSM mantra?

Lastly, when he mentioned Cosgrove, I thought Jim Spence is next on the hit list, but he was strangely omitted- which I thought was strange- but his roll call of names increasingly read like a blacklist. Graham ends with “all those who speak out against us” will be posted so that they remember them when they return to conquer us all again with their Calvinist God firmly behind them…again its all default threats and a pandering to the lynch mentality of the moronic mob- the rationale being: if we intimidate them enough we will terrify them into silence.

But the reality is they have no power to suppress the truth, there are just too many bampots and lunatics out there for that ever to be anything other than a fantasy cooked up in the hun imagination- for as Buddha said: Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth

They are still dead and we are still waiting to know whether their successors will be allowed into the SPL, as anticipated in the season book renewal form.

Are you still scornful of the notion that the SPL vote will be by secret ballot?

Hilariously OTT music for the Ireland game. Ireland’s exit on a par with the holocaust.

  12. up_over_goal on

Would be nice to see Ireland play with a bit of freedom tonight, but suspect the Trap will want to show Italy that his dour system can punish Italy’s new-found attacking style.

So far in this final group match stage we’ve had both games showing on different channels. I have a sneaky feeling both channels will opt for the spain game tonight.

Methinks that’ll be on its way once the FTT is done.

Even uefa won’t ignore cheating on such a grand scale.

  16. !!Bada Bing!! @ 18:59,

Surely NewCo must be an a seperate entity.

If! They are forced to accept any punishments of RFC’s it is an imposed forefeiture.

It would allow NewCo to accept RFC history warts & all.

Now we all know, if guilty, that with SFA/SPL penalties correctly imposed, RFC face a Sine Die Ban.

Now, no way will NewCo except that or even a one season ban.

    So

It will be Trophies lost, fines, points deductions anything that allows RFC to continue and re-build.

    No

They should follow the rules – RFC get ALL Trophies percured illigitamately removed, get a severe censure for sectarian singing, stating if ANY other club were found guilty of the same the penalties will be huge, then a Sine Die ban and a museum for their infamous history.

NewCo starts at Div III or the bottom of the restructured Leagues and have an opporunity to detox the brand.

  17. Why are the boards of other clubs discussing what will happen if they vote in favour of a Newco with their fans and Celtic aren’t? A colleague of mine, a Don, was bemoaning the fact that it seems to be business as usual with Celtic, no threats of not returning to watch their team play if a Newco is allowed in the SPL no fan pressure on the board, season ticket sales up on last year. Why are the fans of the smaller clubs being the most vociferous in their opposition to a Newco and making sure that their respective boards know this. Maybe he has a point.

There has to be a juncture where doing the right thing takes precedence over what the clubs manager or board want.

Hope Spain pump those diving cheats.

I have never liked the Croatia National team after their antics at France 98 against Germany and France including their current boss getting a Frenchman sent off.

Shocking divers like few others I have seen.

  19. Having read here what some of the orcs are saying, I reiterate :

they are known planet-wide as ‘animals’ for a reason.

  20. McGeady is a knob thats 2 games in a row he hasn’t sang the soldiers song every other player and all the Irish fans belting it out. Shame on you McGeady, another big Artur slap deserved for you me lad

You won’t hear this from me very often FORZA AZZURRI! It is more palatable in Italian.

Any country who’s national anthem lyrics are “Ice cream for me. Ice cream for you.” is worth some support from the Celtic family.

  22. Anyway, anybody any the wiser about Barcaboy’s long promised nuclear news? Y’know? The revelations that would have some heading for countries with no extradition treaties…

…..would even that be enough to shame the animals?

  23. tommytwiststommyturns on

oglach – I take it you’re extracting the urine. Only the boys brought up in Ireland knew the words. Dunne, Doyle, etc. did not sing either.

  24. After the news on the contracts today, there is no way whatsoever that the newco can be voted back in.

They are a dirty , lousy, cheatin bunch of liars.

Can i mention these views are my own!

  25. !!Bada Bing!! on

Chairbhoy-I see what you are saying, but the dual contract situation will have to be seen to be acted on,or UEFA will step in IMO.Regan and Doncaster will try to make it a pre-requisite of share transfer IMO,to save their jobs.
