Rangers in administration without tax case

1363

There are not words powerful enough to describe today’s news.  The English language is insufficient and I have no Greek or Latin.  Rangers Football Club have today asked the Court of Session to appoint an administrator, unable to service their creditors.  The freight train of their tax tribunal has yet to hit, these events relate exclusively to how the club has operated in other areas.

Scottish Premier League rules state that clubs are deducted 10 points on going into administration, which will give Celtic a 14 point lead at the top of the table once in effect.

This is a day we have predicted will come for over three years.  It has been inevitable for that long.  Now the really interesting events will happen.

We don’t need no stinkin’ Rangers.

Up the Celts!

It will be in a bank account so that when they are wound up there will be cash available immediately to pay Whyte. That way he’s not hanging about waiting for assets to be sold off before he gets his money.

HAPPY AS LARRY! SERIOUSLY, COULD NOT BE HAPPIER…………

My youth was spent watching the Muggletons’ & Biggins’ of this world while they ‘bought’ League Title after League Title.

It was a painful for me & my mates at that time but we laughed at it and took the situation in good humour.

Today, that pain has all but gone, along with our friends across the City.

  9. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

    Evening all.

A big thank you to every poster here. Superb stuff tonight.

For the minority who have complained about the “informed” comments of Speirs & Keevins, I am reminded of the tale of the two four-year old children who were discussing particle physics.

The adult who was supervising them quickly realised that they didn’t have a clue what they were talking about … and stopped listening.

    Hail Hail

I’ll call up on Friday. I have free time then. I work until 7pm ever other night.

I never heard your call pal but read the blog comments.

Disgusting cowardice and self – preservation from the media.

The point should be made that Clyde have NO show if they disappear. At present they have not gone out of business but a bill of 75M on top of administration means death and they all know it now.

I really hope some folk have some video of Whyte being screamed at by the hordes from SKY TV.

As Neil Lennon said “this isn’t the end, this is only the beginning”.

Totally agree. I only started listening to it recently for pure comic value, but tonight was the last time.

Celtic fans kept calling in to say that we’d be fine without the huns, and Keevins and Spiers just kept responding with: “Naw yeez wouldnae”.

    Pretty stupid stuff.

I think that’s enough RT’s for tonight! Don’t be angry with me, I didn’t put you in administration…

  15. mickthetick – it’s been a long time since I played Westerwood. Isn’t the par 5 all down hill? You probably had a tail wind and hard ground in your favour :) I walked around Westerwood when it was being built/designed by Seve Ballesteros. Seve was hitting some balls up to his erse in mud and trying to figure out tee and gree positions. A real gentleman.

  18. “where’s the ticketus money?” is the question of the moment.

CW has always known this day would happen, he’s not put any cash into the club and he’s now chosen to put on the brink of admin essentially blaming the tax case – which has nothing to do with him. But, where is the ticketus money? As I said previously, there is no way ticketus would stump up £24mill knowing they were in such a perilous state. There is something afoot……

Can you help with my question?

If Whyte takes them into administration does that mean that he is no longer required to sign off the accounts?

  21. No to Administration

    No to Liquidation

    Yes to Extermination X

Have any of you bhoys whistled the tune to Jelly and Ice Cream while doing the shopping…BIG smiles when other join in ;-)

Oh and Slug Keevins you really are a disgrace to Journalism and your family (I worked in the same place as your brother)

  22. I wonder what the jambo’s will think if they go into liquidation, when their Glasgow cousins owe them £800,000.

‘Obama in the white house’ ? If you meant as an analogy with whyte then good example. Both promised much but have proven to be charlatans.

Will be taking a sneaky look at Daily Record tomorrow when in shop to see if front page has a cracked crest & tombstone. Lets enjoy the moment, schadenfreude et al. We will need to make sure we make CL group stages next year in order to keep progressing & keep this young squad together. I’m confident we can do that.

Huns & diet huns all in one swoop! Just can’t plan that :)
