Rangers in administration without tax case

1363

There are not words powerful enough to describe today’s news.  The English language is insufficient and I have no Greek or Latin.  Rangers Football Club have today asked the Court of Session to appoint an administrator, unable to service their creditors.  The freight train of their tax tribunal has yet to hit, these events relate exclusively to how the club has operated in other areas.

Scottish Premier League rules state that clubs are deducted 10 points on going into administration, which will give Celtic a 14 point lead at the top of the table once in effect.

This is a day we have predicted will come for over three years.  It has been inevitable for that long.  Now the really interesting events will happen.

We don’t need no stinkin’ Rangers.

Up the Celts!

I think there might already be legal precedent with regards refusal of an Administration request due to the low sale price. I hope Whyte has been given ten days to come up with some incriminating evidence. Even then I would suspect Murray rather than MIH to be the sacrificial succulent lamb as far as they are concerned. The treasury focus on football means it will end at Rangers and Murray and his acolytes.

No rankers for three years? How nice would that be. No rankers full stop? Now there’s a plan!! HH.

  4. keevins and spiers telling us all night we cannot do without them

they should speak to a real journalist i.e graham hunter who is based

in spain . graham, who is well respected on the european scene has

on a few occasions stated that within 3 to 5 yrs there will be a

european league with celtic involved and no mention of them.

i hope this is the reason we have been buying young players

so that we are geared up when this happens.

by then they will be long forgotten

Somebody should give Keevins and Speirs the dilemma-

Huns parachute into spl but the Celtic support bhoycott all away games.

  6. An odd sense of calm has descended on me, like the thing that had been bugging me all these years has crumbled and has been blown away on the wind.

A trip to the pub now for a glass of wine and some pretty girls.

    I deserve it.

Today I had the misfortune to be sitting next to none other than Donald Findlay QC in Vittoria restaurant in Edinburgh, if only I knew Rangers had served papers, I wonder if he attended the Court of Session?

Donald I hope you are hurting as much as I’m celebrating.

  8. The Mighty Quinn on RTC sums it all up perfectly:

Rangers done this. Rangers alone made these choices. Rangers are to blame for this. Rangers made the mistakes. Rangers blew up the bubble thinking it wouldn’t burst. Rangers failed. Rangers couldn’t stop themselves despite better advice. Rangers have put the whole of Scottish football at risk. Rangers are corrupt. Rangers are putting themselves into administration. Rangers did nothing to stop the rot. Rangers lost their way. Rangers did this.

    DON’T FORGET WHO TO BLAME.

Quinn, if you are lurking; well said.

  9. Had a wee tear in my eye today when I heard the news. Got very emotional. It’s been a long time coming and there’s worse for them to come.

Great, great times to be a Celtic supporter.

CW will have passed some or all of his secure creditor position onto Ticketus, as he didn’t have 2 beans to rub together.

He will have taken out what £3m to £4m in fees and salaries, in his time there, so a nice little earner!

How to Ticketus get their money, interesting question?

I am enjoying further slow death as 10 days will drag on and HMRC will play hardball on things….as the penny drops.

Re phone ins, why do folk on here bother……listening and phoning is just the fodder they need.

At least the simple question of :

‘who do you journalists feel most embarassed for being taken in by…. Murray for his lies or Whyte for his’ might have challenged them a bit !

The have no intent on reason on the ‘who needs who’ issue…..I do hope we hear an unequivcal view as to our position, and some moral high ground taken by our club, and some direction to the SPL / SFA on similar, by our leadership tomorrow.

  13. Today, with all its implications, is the culmination of forty years of jealousy, leading to reckless spending to eradicate the affront to THEIR dignity, of Celtic, the Micks, if only for a brief period, reigning supreme as Champions of Europe. THEY have never forgiven us for it.

Things started to go downhill as THEY still lashed out money even although the arrival of Fergus signalled the end of Minty’s easy ride.

Even worse, the merger of The Bank of Scotland with the Halifax, meant that the days of putting on the Old School Tie, giving some bank manager a funny handshake and having the problems swept under the carpet were over.

And let us never forget the Scottish media, that unquestioningly played cheerleader to Murray’s excesses.

Up until this point they have consistantly got it wrong. All the way thru this process. They have no credibility. I have never believed them and today hasnt changed anything

Unlike the good people on this blog and in particular the site owner who have carried the consistant story over last 3 years REGARDLESS of spiers and keevins pathetic attempts at coming across as being “investigative journalists in the know”

Mainstream journos and radio clyde phone ins , like the huns, are dead. Long live the Blog!

  18. I have waited over 20 years for this to happen to rangers.

When I took constant abuse for supporting Celtic, when the neighbours waited for me coming in from a game to slag me after another poor result.

All the while their mob were at Financial Doping to keep us in our place.

Like others said, rangers and the huns did not cry for us when we were an hour away from disappearing.

    You raise a good point.

What clubs throughout the divisions in England have liabilities are exposed to this tax scam.

Could we see a house of English Football cards crush, paving the way to an unimpeded entry to the top flight in England?

A list of all clubs affected by the tax thieving scam would be appreciated.

    Wonderful, just wonderful.

were to be believed-a pox on them

  21. Re: Clyde,

I listened for a bit tonight and I heard 2 frightened men – Keevins and Spiers depend on the “Old Firm” for their jobs (or their appearance fees, in Spiers’ case).

They have a clear vested interest in seeing Rangers survive, but they are too cowardly to admit it. Instead, they are trying to persuade the world that RFC should survive for the good of us all.

How much clearer can we be….

Peter Lawwell: “Our horizons are broader, we don’t need Rangers”.

Neil Lennon: “We don’t need Rangers”

50,000 Celtic fans doing the huddle “We’re havin’ a party when Rangers die!”

Spiers and the rest- the message is loud and clear.

    We. Don’t Need. Them.

    Now, where’s my fragola e limone….
