Rangers on SFA warpath since Fit and Proper enquiry

1203

Rangers manager, Ally McCoist, appears intent on testing the SFA following his outburst yesterday.  According to McCoist the Association “effectively called” Sone Aluko “a cheat and a liar”.  Chairmen of the disciplinary tribunal, former referee Jim McCluskey, had his judgement called into question by McCoist, who said, “The meeting was chaired by a former referee and I have to say his decision making hasn’t improved any since he stopped refereeing.”

This is a new tone from the Rangers manager, who never spoke in these terms about the SFA before they decided to investigate Rangers owner Craig Whyte’s suitability as a fit and proper person to be involved in the game.  Despite yesterday’s punishment, Rangers remain Scotland’s most influential club by the length of the Queen’s highway.  Sabre rattling from Ibrox cannot be dismissed by the Association, who, I am led to believe, will find their investigation into Whyte thwarted.

McCoist escaped SFA punishment for his inflammatory comments to Neil Lennon at Celtic Park in March. It remains to be seen if this new outburst establishes a new method of inappropriate behaviour without consequence. Shauny Aluko will surely not thank his manager for the “cheat and a liar” association. Words like those tend to follow a player.

    2 years!!!

But the 9th of December 2009 seems like yesterday and forever will be a day to be celebrated as Kano finally made it home to his family after spending 13+ months in hospital over in Perth Australia.

I know life could be a whole lot better for you Martin but knowing you are at home with the love and care of your wife Carolyn, Sean and Alanna raises a wee smile of happiness in this Bhoy. I hope you all have another great Christmas together at home.

Ramie. Can you give Martin a wee vody from me and have one yourself. You are a giant amongst Bhoys Ramie.

I’ll be raising a wee glass to you all later and I know you will all join me in raising a wee Glass to Pablophanque (Stevie Renaults) who started up the Bringing Martin Home campaign and passed away earlier this year. A big loss to his family and CQN.

A wee thanks to Kitalba for informing us of Martin’s plight on the blog and a big up to Paul67 for bringing us CQN without which Martin’s life would have been so much different.

I am with you on that one mate, first socialise the Banking debts and then privatise the profits, then target, sytemically, the weakest in society as they have the quietest voice and don’t vote for them anyway to try and make inroads on the debt. Meanwhile, over at Tory (and Labour) HQ they try and protect the same Bankers from the financial transaction tax. Makes me feel physically ill and worried about what would happen to us (my immediate family) is one of us became gravely ill. I despair at the inhumanity and aloofness with which this is done, with the storke of a pen – so to speak.

  19. Below is an email I received from Estadio last night, as you’ll see he’s recovering well.

    ……….

    Hi Vinny,

as promised a wee tale from the Gorbals Outback.

I managed down to the pub on Sunday for the game, but as I had to go back into hospital on Monday drink was a no go area. The can of Irn Bru was almost untouched at the end of the game!

Anyway, the Royal let me back out on Monday night and I set my mind on getting on my feet on Tuesday to at least get to the doctors.

Things didn’t quite go to plan…….

The snow covered streets of the Gorbals may have looked like a winter wonderland to those able bodied people with eyes, legs and sense of direction that all functioned as one co-ordinated unit, but to us ‘raspberry ripples’ doing an impersonation of a drunk bambi on skunk, the ice, snow and thump of road against knees, bum and forehead were akin to touching the oxygen thin void and then toppling over the edge of the precipice into the unforgiving chasm of disaster below……and all the while, oh how the weans in the school opposite laughed their darling wee heads off, while shouting ‘jakey’ and  ‘drunk’, their teachers herding them away from the undesirable mendicant lying on his back, legs on the air like a dying fly.

I promised myself that WHEN I recovered, I would have the wee @ӣ$%$^s

Anyway, I made it to the doctors and got pumped with even more drugs leaving me feeling a bit like a ‘mule’ from Amsterdam.

Then came the onterchange with the Job Centre and Benefits people.

I phoned to sign off Job seekers and sign on for sickness benefit.  40 bleedin minutes it took to register for the sickness part and that will take at least 14 days to come through. No use mentioning that I was physically limited or not fully compus mentis! Even politiely indicating that being fairly immobile I may not be able to answer all the questions over the phone only elicited the reply….”Well you’ll just have to do without any money at all then’!

As for trying to sign off Jobseekers – well that turned out to be a premium call line where they kept me hanging on at circa 45p a minute. Fortunately the line dropped out before I needed to make a further crisis loan claim just to cover the call. ( subsequently on Wednesday I hobbled and staggerred up to the broo and cancelled directly). The system is basically ‘evil’ and its existence and all who hide behind the skull and crossbones soaking the poor and needy while wallowing in their blackhearted hatred of the ‘common man’ are now right at the top of my list alongside the weans from Blackfriars School.

Mind you I also have a bit of good fortune to report.

I’ve never had a flu jab until today. It seems I’m entitled to it due to my ‘luck’ as the doctor said in having had a virulent virus attack to my brain (‘suspected admittedly’ she said ‘but I’ll bend the rules and give you the jag anyway’.)  “Just how ‘lucky’ can a man be” I pondered aloud?

I also explained that I was loathe to have the injection as everyone I knew who had had one, then developed the flu!  She eyed me like a gorgon and I succumbed to the needle and the threat of being petrified for posterity. I did however leave her with a promise that should I develop shivers, sweats, and the inability to leave my bed for day after day – she would be placed high on my list of targets alongside primaty school children and benefit beaurocrats. She smiled like a vulture smelling carrion and impending death.

Still I have my coffee, bread, milk and recordings of Miss Marple to cheer me up as in my mind’s eye I substitute the murder victims with Doctors, School weans and scavenging Tory leaning benefit office staff, who if they are ever unemployed could do a remake of ’28 days later’.

Apart from that, everything (including my cerebral cortex) is going swimmingly!

    ………………….

So what did happen to the anonymity of the 3-man panel chaired by Jim McCluskey?

    ——————————————————

It is unclear to me who named the panel and the source must be traced.

One of the key principles that the system is based on is anonymity.

    Anonymity does two things

    a) it stops any panel member being “got at” to influence a decision.

    b) it stops any panel member being afraid of his honest decision attracting unwanted attention from unreasonable people.

Thus breaking anonymity is an attack itself on the system, that all clubs agreed to.

If I were Mr Regan I would be asking if the info came from inside the SFA or from those who were before the panel.

Either way anonymity is essential for fairness as long as the panel has the relevant experience and competence.
