Rangers on SFA warpath since Fit and Proper enquiry

1203

Rangers manager, Ally McCoist, appears intent on testing the SFA following his outburst yesterday.  According to McCoist the Association “effectively called” Sone Aluko “a cheat and a liar”.  Chairmen of the disciplinary tribunal, former referee Jim McCluskey, had his judgement called into question by McCoist, who said, “The meeting was chaired by a former referee and I have to say his decision making hasn’t improved any since he stopped refereeing.”

This is a new tone from the Rangers manager, who never spoke in these terms about the SFA before they decided to investigate Rangers owner Craig Whyte’s suitability as a fit and proper person to be involved in the game.  Despite yesterday’s punishment, Rangers remain Scotland’s most influential club by the length of the Queen’s highway.  Sabre rattling from Ibrox cannot be dismissed by the Association, who, I am led to believe, will find their investigation into Whyte thwarted.

McCoist escaped SFA punishment for his inflammatory comments to Neil Lennon at Celtic Park in March. It remains to be seen if this new outburst establishes a new method of inappropriate behaviour without consequence. Shauny Aluko will surely not thank his manager for the “cheat and a liar” association. Words like those tend to follow a player.

The only way that team would be realistic,is if it’s the last game at home and the leagues been well wrapped up.

But hey, we may finish with that team. when we’re 4 up.

It would be awfully amusing were Hibs to win today couresy of a penalty awarded in injury time awarded after a Gary O’Connor dive.

Apart from Dylan there isn’t anybody who hasn’t been a regular starter due to injuries etc.

Ultimately I agree with you though,Stokes n Hooper will play

An ex-footballer (Burley) on ESPN has agreed the panel’s decision to find Aluko guilty of cheating was correct. He then complains that the people on the panel should not be there – presumably on the basis that they are not fit to carry out their duties.

The ex-footballer then indicates that the panel should be staffed with former players. If Burley is a representation of ex-footballers, and their levels of intelligence, then it is no wonder there are no ex-footballers on said panel.

  14. So Dalziel on Clyde is happy to call Larsson of Sunderland’s effort last week a dive but is not happy to call Aluko’s as a dive nor is Wishart.

    Why is that?

Pat Fenlon is a good tim,and this would mean a lot to him

    7/1 with some bookies,worth a punt

  16. Put Brown and Kayal in the middle – our most effective central pairing.

I’d go for Paddy and Hoops up front, but realise it’ll be Stokes & Hooper – happy enough with that, but hope Stokesy’s got his shooting boots on.

Who should make way for Brown? Loovens, imo, although it’s a tough one. Wanyama has been playing so well, I’d have in at CB, though Lenny may prefer to go with what’s worked on our run thus far. Sammi is undroppable right now.

The full back area is where we are weak, and if I were the Hearts manager it’d be diagonal balls all afternoon.

  17. The Battered Bunnet on

According to the Sportsound team, this is a ‘big, big’ game for Rangers. Hibs apparently present a tough challenge.

Last time I looked, Hibs were a single point above the relegation spot.

This should be a walk in the park for Rangers. Why the anxiety?

  18. Snake

The only rational explanation for that statement apart from the fact that both you mention are deeply biased, is that Larsson actually simulated a dive.

Sone Aluko didn’t, he fell without pretention to make it look like a penalty.

He didn’t even need to simulate, and still got a penalty.

I don’t see any problems in knowing who the people involved in the disciplinary procedure are, in fact I’m all in favour of it.

However, the lack of transparency that previously existed at the SFA was a real problem and led to some baffling decisions like allowing two Rangers players and their assistant manager off the hook for their odious behaviour at Celtic Park last season, and deferred punishment on Lafferty’s for simulation while overturning Charlie Mulgrew’s red card in the same incident within two days.

No one knew anything about the people involved in these incidents because the SFA kept their names secret.

Because he’s a hun that needs the income and is shit scared of saying anything that would upset huns,I’m surprised he doesn’t want to make some kind of representation in his official capacity of hun players union rep,to the sfa.

The ongoing press bias is interesting – but not half as interesting as a story on the front page of today’s Herald – where the Chief Constable is criticising the defence lawyer in the Gormley case. Its clear the defendents were horrible people but the police are continually attacking the legal profession as are the SNP. An unholy alliance if ever there was one.
