  1. People saying the league’s not over…..starting to remind me of that knight on Monty Python that has his limbs cut off.

We don’t seem to be able to win the head to heads and they aren’t dropping points against the dross.

This could end up a 20 point margin which is unforgivable.

  2. Four-Leaf Clover Over & Over on

Played excellent today. They stole it. These things happen. Especially in Scotland. We’d never have gotten that red if the boot was on the other foot. On many ways the performance of the season but with no result. Played as a team for first time this season too. Frimpong just needs to be more cool and clinical. Which comes with experience. Onwards and upwards. Hail Hail!!

  3. As other have said, the league wasn’t lost today, but in the earlier games. Time for a reset and new management structure. We have a strong core of players to build on, even with the ones that will go. First half, Frimpong, Ajer, Griffiths, McGregor and Christie were excellent. Thought Ajer was our best player but we don’t have enough good defenders.

  4. The generation of domination is over.

Time to build a new generation.

Anyone who doesn’t want to be at Celtic for next season should go now and let us clear the decks.

Neil will always be a legend and I don’t blame him for today but there has been an obvious decline in the past two years and we need a top rate manager to take us forward.

  5. I said… no injuries and no red cards. Don’t the players read this site?

    It’s an oft watched movie.

All gone now. It was a superb run.

  6. Frimpong was a tiger but lacks a final ball, please coach him, Ayer immense, Laxalt dug in, Turnbull great player in the making, Eduard take the money wandered about when it was 1 up front not willing to do the dirty stuff, dont know why the manager took Turnbull off and left Chrisite on disgraceful decision.

  7. !!BADA BING!! on 2ND JANUARY 2021 2:27 PM

A man down is not a disaster, team was playing well, too many changes, guys playing out of position, he can GTF

    ———————–

Have to agree Bitton is an idiot but also poor changes to personnel and positioning after it happened.

The Huns won that game with 0 (zero) shots on target we needed to continue playing with two upfront

  8. Undone by a hopeful ball down the channel and a corner. Somehow managing to be totally on top in a big game and still losing. Who’d a thought?

  9. PETERLATCHFORDSBELLY on 2ND JANUARY 2021 2:22 PM

Lennon should pack his bags tonight and just head back to Tennents. He’s blown the 10.

    ….

    Another dick of a comment

  10. First half showed us we have as good / better team than sevco.

The pre demonstration team selection was poorer than now. The league was lost before today.

I believe the sevco mgt team will leave on a high in May. We know our cobbled together mgt team aren’t fit for purpose.

We change things now. Literally this week. We could be miles ahead as they start their summer rebuild, devoid of money.

Or, we stumble on to the summer.

  11. CHRISTIE SHOULD HAVE BEEN DROPPED WEEKS AGO – Lennon should have taken mcgregor off early in the last game as he’s looked leggy.

  12. Garngad to Croy on

A reverse of the League Cup final , and fair play to Rangers the mark of Champions to win that game. A team that was started less than 10 years ago to win their 1st Championship is remarkable.

  13. TINYTIM on 2ND JANUARY 2021 2:16 PM

It a series of decisions that come back to haunt you.

    ——————–

    BGFC here

    Agree with that.

What leads us to having two converted midfielders, a prospect winger, a loanee and an invisible goalkeeper as our back five? It is not about decisions today; it’s about team building – or the lack of it – over a long period of time.

Good first 35 minutes although most shots were long range. Dropoped off last 10 before half-time and never particularly threatened their goal in the second half, even prior to the sending off.

Said to WeeBGFC at half time – that’s probably in our top three best 45s this season, and one of their worst.

Still couldn’t get in front of them.

  14. Like everyone on here totally disappointed with the result. It appears that we can play very good first halves but fall away in the second. What does Christie have that Neil sees but I do not see in him? Failure to make simple passes, a desire to play for self and no team spirit. Why Turnbull was taken off before Christie leaves me wondering how this type of decision is made.

I thought Edouard was not as good as one would wish in these circumstances. I feel his distribution and ability to hold on to the ball were missing today.

We need to do something about the central defenders, But you and I, we have all been saying that since the beginning of the season. Will we get new players in soon or are we trying to keep the bank account looking good? Is the season over now or is there still some hope?

  15. DBHOY on 2ND JANUARY 2021 2:28 PM

Bad result, cue for a fleet of aresholes to tell us what we should’ve done or should’ve been done prior.

    Brilliant performance, terrible luck.

    League NOT OVER!

    COYBIG!

    HH

    ………………..

Says a man who can’t see the bigger picture.

  16. I salute this Celtic team. Brilliant performance from a brilliant group of players who have given us so much, not enough for our perfect humans that exist on this blog, who have NEVER faltered!

  17. GARNGAD TO CROY on 2ND JANUARY 2021 2:36 PM

Agreed. We were outplayed in that cup final but the mood was “the result is what matters” and congratulating our winning mentality.

The shoe is now on the other foot. The gap is now 19 points and claims we have a better team or that “none of their players would get in our team” looks daft.

It was a great run while it lasted but the rebuild starts now.

  18. DBHOY on 2ND JANUARY 2021 2:28 PM

The league’s over, short of points being deducted for something or other, which won’t happen.

It’s been a funny old season.

I can’t help thinking about the concluding lines of the Falling Masonry article about the Ibrox Disaster and how appropriate they are for the man who owns and controls Celtic Football Club, The Great Desmondo.

‘the club has many friends, and in the words of the first official club publication (1923) ‘all who look upon the old club with a friendly eye stand prepared, by precept and example, to protect its interests and its good name.’

  19. Ref won it

Morelos assault on frimpong in 2 minutes was a red

Could not wait to show the red

Lenny and board totally to blame

So many errors by lenny, eg Duffy and barkas are possibly worst player’s ever for celtic and lenny always goes back to them

Second half fall off displays unimaginably poor coaching, and lenny s subs today were utterly baffling

Time after time after time this season

Board chasing blue £- truly horrific business decision and for us fans- cos they are not – it has been sickening

  20. CLINK

If he spent as much time in the tactics room at Lennoxtown as he does in Tennents we might not be in the shit we’re in.

  21. THEORIGINALSADIESBHOY on 2ND JANUARY 2021 2:38 PM

You don’t know me, don’t pretend to do! Prick

  22. End of the road today. Reset and rebuild needed. Bitton was daft and the decision was “marginal”. When you’re in a good place you can absorb that kind of thing. We are all over the shop…. rebuild starting with as big a January clear out as possible. Summer window is the next big game.

  23. Better performance for 45 minutes — showed how poor they are.

But we have thrown away any chance of winning the league with our second rate management.

PL really is the worst level of CEO — vain / stupid / greedy in equal measure.

Up there with BoJo and Not-Jacinda in the top rank of useless muppets.

I think he might be the worst — he is that bad.

  24. Connaire

Against hearts and sevco, we have also seen these teams change things at half time.

As I posted during the game, our mgt team seem incapable of doing same.

Rather, we react to a red card, lost goals etc.

We just dont seem to have the tactical knowledge to change things, make the opposition think.

Far too reactive far too often

  25. Wee BGFC

Think that’s spot on. A defeat in a run of Hail Mary matches would have come at some point. There are a lot of reasons for our unravelling and it wasn’t just Nir Bitton, slow converted midfielder, brain fart. Today was just a symptom of a decline that has been papered over by Fraser Forster heroics or hun implosions last year.

Let’s do what a professional club would do now. React with a plan that tackles issues right across the club.

    HH

  26. So, so Guttted by the result.

So proud that we actually gave a performance today.

As usual the foot was well and truly shot again!!!

Defensive (individual) errors and poor finishing cost us the league…. Not today but earlier games in the season…..

Hopefully CQN can keep it civil…..

Ps…… Im away to play beer pong, although there’s lager, gin, cider and Bacardi…… This is gonnae get Messi lol

    Catchyeez. 👍

  27. The league is over… But I think we showed we are a better football team…….. Rangers win without a shot on target….. At home against celtic… Not a shot on target……. I’m still convinced EPL.. That red would have been a yellow…… Some things aren’t meant to be

  28. a game we had to win we can’t even score 1 goal

Lenny why didn’t you just leave the team as it was after our midfielder playing at centre back brain freeze, you made us worse with your subs, they couldn’t get in our half for goodness sake we were totally dominant.

Duff y should never play for us again a total shyster he ends up playing centre forward after you subbed the griff , totally scunnered they were there for a hiding.

  29. ERNIE LYNCH on 2ND JANUARY 2021 2:40 PM

Sevco could probably afford to take administration, the ten-point hit, sell a couple to get their finances in order and still win the league by ten points.

This has been an abysmal season and the time for excuses or “HH” is over – questions need asking. Tough questions.

  30. Not a red in my opinion. Was neither a goal scoring opportunity nor dangerous play. It was a deliberate foul. On the wing.

Those who say no attempt to play the ball. Most of the fouls committed by them was no attempt to play the ball.

And it just compounded the invented free kicks for them in that first half.

Wasn’t the ref who beat us, but he helped.
