I salute this Celtic team. Brilliant performance from a brilliant group of players who have given us so much, not enough for our perfect humans that exist on this blog, who have NEVER faltered!

    …………

Very un-Celtic supporter like behaviour from you the last 20 minutes. I think i hear your mum calling you in for your tea.

    ………………..

He might be giving out to some posters but he is supporting the team after a defeat.

There’s a lot of angry fans on here and not much in the way of support.

A man down is not a disaster, team was playing well, too many changes, guys playing out of position, he can GTF

    ———————

    Very adult, absolutely!

  4. Sad as I am now. I kind of thought this and said at half time as near the league cup final last year in reverse as you can get . Inc their best player being there keeper…. See Frazer Forster.

So that’s that re the ref the big calls. The coke head was a yellow that changes his game early.

The red card was he going to get a shot away thus a clear goal opportunity it’s a bit a matter of opinion I don’t think so but I would want red for them if it’s reversed.

Also Duffy …. He’s just rotten almost let them in and lucky not to be sent off in his 20 MiN cameo .

He should never play for us again as big a waste of money as rahpel who he shares a name with .

If we are getting a new manager. Get him in now what’s the point of limping along. Like this

When Paul67 posted that the board will back Neil Lennon and hope to recruit to a significant level in January, it stopped being Lennon’s fault.

  6. If Lennon and whoever scouts and signs our players are not sacked soon we are fecked.

Remember, according to our financials we are likely to be in debt next season, so where will the money for new faces come from?

And who would trust the existing incumbents to spend a tenner never mind millions.

Oh and those who think clubs will be lining up this window to sign our duds, don’t make me laugh.

We are in a bad place.

    A very bad place.

How did it ever come to this?

  7. Big Jimmy

All else aside, I would really like to see NFL come out after match and call out the coke sniffing kid incident. He has nothing to lose so should really go all in against the ref. Compliance should be looking at that and the kick out. I think they will as a wee suspension for an off the boil, over weight, on his way out forward will mean less right now.

Myself and others said it 3 days ago, Bitton should know better, he’s been in Scotland long enough, whether others agree it was a red he shouldn’t be giving the twitching madhun the option.

  8. glendalystonsils on

There’s been something wrong at the club on and off the park all season . We have tried to bluff our way through it and look for the mythical ‘corner’ which we would turn and find the wonderful land of Oz , just like Dorothy .

You can’t find the ‘corner’ if you’re on the wrong road to start with .

We’re playing for second now and I just wonder what the motivation will be like because the meaningful change that has to happen won’t happen until next season , when we’re going ‘for the one’.

It was all so unnecessary .

  9. SFTB @ Holier than thou central

    Blow it oot yer erse.

Excuses / deflection / tortured analysis.

We are a shambles at the moment and you just want to live in the past.

It is happy clappers like yourself that brought on today’s situation.

No matter the mistakes made by the exec level you are always on hand to rationalise an excuse.

I am waiting for “regression to the mean” to make an appearnace.

We are Carthage and Nokia rolled into one.

  10. prince of keepers on

For red in that situation ref needs to be 100% sure that attacker will reach the ball and the get a shot away, neither of which I am convinced would happen when you see the pace on the ball and the speed that Ajer was coming across.

Unfortunately gave that ref a decision and he couldnt get the card out quick enough. Quelle suprise!

Should have been in lead, need to take your chances when dominating. Really glad dont need to watch them every week even with an extra man the football they play would make your eyes bleed.

Missed the chance to give them the bloody nose which might have turned the tide.

  11. prestonpans bhoys on

Daft decision by Bitton, I mean come on what were the chances of moreorless scoring if he let him be. He would have hoofed it over the bar.

  12. UNCLE JIMMY on 2ND JANUARY 2021 2:57 PM

I’d hate for us to be negligent again

    ================

Hi UNCLE JIMMY – I just wonder if there is any possibility of another chnage in direction a la Rodgers from our Board?

As many have commented here – the experience of a CEO and Board who seem to not wish to move up and beyond the Old Firmism – to fulfill our potential beyond domestic competition – doesn’t fill me with great hope that we will see anything revolutionary.

We may, in any case, have squandered our best opportunity in generations to do just that.

Looking for a fight, foul and unnecessary language, on the high horse of he is the only one that cares?

    OK then.

The time for change was a while ago. Because we lost to a team that never had a shot on target does not mean we maintain the status quo. Yir pal is not covering himself in glory here.

  14. time for the loanees to return from where they came from.

Lenny you made an ar@@ of it today with what you done following the red ,

where did Elhamed come from ? we all thought he was back home with his family .

never mind Dubai for Duff y is should be goodbai , he how has got to the EPL heaven now’s.

  15. Dbhoy

I’m genuinely interested – you dont think the league is over yet.

We are 19 points behind, averaging 2.26 points per game, of which we have 3 in hand.

Could you elaborate on how you see the season unfolding.

    Thanks

  16. Our performances for many weeks alternated between disgraceful and embarrassing. That’s why we’ve lost the league on the 2nd January.

Neil Lennon should go, but he won’t. He’s not that kind of man. Likewise, Lawwell – he should be following Neil Lennon out the door to make way for what will be a rebuild of our Club.

We’ve 5 months of futile football to look forward to as Sevco do laps of honour.

I seen today coming so the disappointment isn’t as pronounced as it would have been.

The truth is we lost the ten that evening the board issued a statement attacking the fans and backing Lennon.

If anyone wants a pass to paradise login for the next few months then ask P67 for my private email.

I’m done, not one more penny or second of my time will be spent while Lennon and Lawwell remain in post.

  17. We were the better team today. McShagger made 2 great saves from Eddie & Griff & that ultimately won them the game.

That may not be any consolation to some but it is to me.

We have good players, yes there needs to be a clear out, particularly in defense and we need a few proper defenders in but they are not miles ahead of us by any means, the League definitely looks beyond us this year but I have every confidence , that we will be back stronger than ever next season.

We have a season to play out & a Scottish Cup to play for.

With Julien out long term we need a couple of central Defenders, loans with an option to buy would be ideal.

Like a small few others I’m not conceding anything, it is out of our hands now and they would need a mini collapse to give us any chance but stranger things have happened,

In 9 days we are at home to Hibs, all we can do now is to go out & win that game.

  18. The most frustrating thing about the situation we find ourselves in is that we exposed that ‘rangers’* team for what they are. This idea that they are world beaters was never bought by me. The sh*tebaggery way they all started wanting the ball when we went to 10 men was revealing.

Sending off? Sadly you givevthe ref the chance he will take it. I don’t know why Nir wasn’t in line with Kris at the outset which puts the Colombian ned offside or gives you half the park to recover. It changed the game. Simple.

I may be howling at the moon here but I think Celtic just gave the rest of the SPL the formula for taking points off them. They have the look of one season wonders about them.

Honestly, after the first half I was of the opinion that this league is not over yet regardless of the result. I still feel that way.

The biggest issue here is how we let that shower of dung get so far ahead of us. Those draws at Easter Road, Pittodrie and at celtic Park have cost us. But I always live in hope.

    F %^& it. I’m still a Tim.

  19. Bitton red card not only had team a man short but also meant the dismantling of our midfield which had been running Rangers ragged. Amazingly Barkas had only one shot to deal with so dominant were the Hoops. Six Celtic changes since the last derby made a huge difference. Interesting to see who stays. Rangers owe it to their ‘keeper.

  20. spikeysauldman on

MadMitch – Carthage and Nokia ? so there’s no return ever ? man, it’s worse than I thought !

  21. Regarding the red card while we will say its not a goalscoring opportunity seeing as its Morelos,

the huns will say it was as we had Barkas in goal.

  22. Talk about snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, well this was case in point. We played them off the park with them not having anything near a pop at goal. The entire team was looking great with the possible exception of Christie, who wasn’t that bad to be fair.

THEN, once again a rush of blood by Nir Biton, ffs, does that guy Ever learn, looks not to me.

This is not a kneejerk reaction but if either Biton or Duffy gets anywhere near the first team again, I will be seriously hacked off. Duffy is a very very average player and how he is allowed to earn his living playing football is simply beyond me. Get him off the wage bill next week and leave Biton in Dubai.

So frustrating to have so played so very well and get hee haw in return.

Think, Biton has not only cost us the game, but the championship and our 10 in a row. What a price to pay.

BUT, we have been warned over and over again.

    Seriously pissed off

    Ooooft!

    19 points gap?

Beaten by a team with no shots on target?

    Never saw that coming.

    Said no Celtic supporter. Ever.

    U

  24. Lol it’s not a red card at all.

For the ref to show a straight red card there are only THREE criteria which apply.

Is it a handball on the line by a non goalkeeper to prevent a goal?

No, it’s miles away from the goal.

Does it prevent a clear goalscoring opportunity?

Absolutely not , for the reason stated above, it is miles from the goal, at an acute angle and there are at least two Celtic players running back for it and who stand a chance of getting there.

Is it an example of serious foul play?

Once again absolutely not in this lifetime.

Is it stupid? Yes. Reckless? Yes. Is it a moment of utter incomprehsible stupidty? Yes.

But it is NOT a red card and no argument to the contrary will convince me of that. Because there are three criteria and only three criteria and stupidity is not on that list.

  25. One off the list …

Mauricio Pochettino has been appointed as the new head coach of Paris Saint-Germain.

  26. glendalystonsils on

Ignominiously out of Europe (again) , out of the LC at the first hurdle against a team near the foot of the league ,blowing arguably the most important league in the club’s history by Jan 2nd . I don’t think any manager would last longer than 24 hours after that.

  27. Not sure why Barkas is being criticised, thought he had a decent game – goal was a deflection. As for Bitton, he played well too, up to the point of the (not a) red card. A degree of reality (imo of course) is always welcome.

  28. Morelos!!.

    Goal scoring opportunity!!..

This is the guy that missed from 6cm against us ffs…

    Barkas didnae have a save.

The didnae have a shot oan target and win!!!…

When Neil took of Turnbull my heart sank!!..

Away tae get a few bevvies oot the garage..

  29. PeterLatchfordsBelly on

Losing the league by 2 January in the 10-in-a-row season really takes some doing.

Big back slaps all round to Neil and Peter for pulling it off. Reducing a quadruple treble winning team to this season’s collapsing shambles really is something.

    Well done lads.

  30. ulysses mcghee - a demographic of one on

I think Madmitch is framing his post in the 10 in a row context

Anyone see that opportunity arising again?

    U

  31. spikeysauldman on

An Dun – if we bring in a new CEO and manager that you like, will you ask for your pass to paradise back ?

  32. AIPPLE on 2ND JANUARY 2021 3:03 PM

    …………………

I agree Mate, it would be great IF Neil came out in his Presser and just ask ” Why Moelos wasnt even yellow carded” ?

I cant comment on Bittons Red Card as I missed it…but according to some others on here Ref Madhun couldnt wait to pull out a Red…which is not a surprise to me.
