  1. Jozo, KT, Christie and Edouard passmarks, the rest not up to standard tonight.

Feel sorry for McGregor who gets moved to 3 or 4 different positions in one game, never going to get the best out of him doing that. Christie must be in with a shout of starting on Sunday, Jozo’s injury a blow as he looked good and was looking forward to seeing him and Benkovic team up. Gamboa showed why he doesn’t get a game, can’t defend, Ntcham poor again in Europe and Boyata had his worse game of the season.

Onwards to Sunday, the team will pick itself, last 11 standing.

  2. Two Nil is no disgrace. Yes they were better than us but we battled away, I’m extremely proud of our Bhoys.

I’ll sign off now & let those who want to vent their fury free rein.

    See ye on Sunday, maybe.

  3. FT 2-0.

ON, CM, EK, and CG all had poor nights.

Ryan Christie was the only fringe player to emerge with credit.

  4. Fairhill Bhoy, your point is that KT is unsure of what he had is hasn’t been told. He doesn’t need to be told how to act like a captain. That should be easy for a dyed in the wool Celtic man.

  5. Good night all good Celtic men and wummin!

Not many of you on tonight!

    C’MON THE CELTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How can anyone be proud of that garbage?

The same story in europe plays out again in front of our eyes.

Just imagine we had got into the Champions League……

i would doubt no-one on this blog knows the inner workings and coaching instructions at Celtic for sure.

But a big clue to such is that when we lose possession we immediately run around like headless chickens with the resultant plenty of chances for our opponents no matter how much we dominate the possession stats.

I kinda wish Brexit started in August and we couldn’t travel due to ports being blocked and planes grounded! At least we wouldn’t need to suffer this. We might starve and die due to food and medicine shortages but at least we wouldn’t suffer this pish.

I don’t buy into ‘not good enough at this level’. We have the players , what we don’t have is the collective plan , organisation, attitude confidence and heart.

Tonight was flat, sterile , nervous and submissive. AKA Celtic away in Europe.

  10. Fairhill Bhoy the first error was from Tierney and Ntcham allowing the cross to come in. Downhill from there.

He has not showed the mentality or leadership requirements to be a captain tonight.

  11. ?-I agree about a captain stepping up.

But it’s easier to do that when you’re a big centre forward or a number 10,or big old fashioned centre hof,

  12. Telly off!

Don’t care what crappy spin BR comes out with.

    It’s simple. We don’t defend.

    Sick!

MWD. Maybe with any luck British teams might get Banned from Europe after Brexit. H.H.

You see your expectations to high. Do you wish me to manage them?

WE CANNY DEFEND WE RINSE & REPEAT THE SAME BASIC ERRORS

    MWD your welcome

  15. Well I’m glad we managed to keep it at 2-0. After the first half that’s all I wanted. It’s a great shame that Olli couldn’t score with his chance. He did very well to get the shot off. If it had been 2-1 then a 1-0 win at CP would have given us the better head to head result. Ah well. On to Sunday!!!

  16. It seems like stating the obvious to suggest that our players stand out domestically but out of their depth against even average European sides….

Time to admit that the same goes for the manager?

  17. FANATIC

Do you know that for sure?

    Simple question.

That the players are are not doing what you think they should be doing does not necessarily mean they are not being coached in that area.

Perhaps they are just not good enough.

  18. Gary67 he isn’t a whipping boy. He produced probably his poorest performance in a Celtic jersey. He didn’t step up as captain when we needed a leader. Just calling it as I see it.

Neil Lennon and Gordon Strachan played a pragmatic style of football, home and away domestically.

They realised that you can’t play the “Celtic way” domestically and play a tight game away.

They understood that the team has to settle into a style and stick to it.

Brendan doesn’t accept that philosophy and neither, perhaps would the support.

RBL, like others , kept the pressure on us , with quick passing, which took us out of our comfort you zone.

Eventually it forces mistakes, as happened tonight and previously……and is what we do to most teams domestically.

    =============================================================

    That says it for me.

There`s a mentality which has to be overcome.

Hate to mention it , but the huns seem to be coping reasonably well ” at this level”. And we are better than them. Without any doubt whatsoever .

  21. Kouassi, Morgan and Christie have had very little game time this season and are then thrown into the deep end against a leading Bundesliga team. There was not a single midfield player on our bench tonight, which shows how bad the injury situation is. Broony is clearly on the way down, Rogic is incapable of playing 90 minutes, which is stopping him from becoming a really top-class player, Ntcham is probably having to play too many games, Mulumbu also injured it seems. With the defensive situation – Boyata and Bencevic not staying, the others injury-prone/unreliable (apart from Ajer) – rebuilding needs to start in January if possible.

Having said that, our strongest team would propbably have lost tonight, though we might have at least had a couple of shots on target. I doubt very much whether BR knows how to set up a team to defend.

  22. Well done NtCham. More than 10 unforced errors in 90 mins. Reassuring to see that he’s not going to be the next young Frenchie to leave for big money anytime soon.

  23. ?-agree to disagree, just remember KT has had to play with so many different formations and defensive team mates, maybe he just forgot who’s arse he was trying to cover at that shy?

  24. celticrollercoaster on

First 30 mins was a decent performance. We then proceed to concede two poor goals and then we crumble and lose heart.

    Uninspiring stuff.

The only positive is it remained 2-0.

I honestly believe Celtic will win at home against both Red Bull teams if they can field a full strength team. A draw away to Rosenberg will see them through.

What I cannot fathom is why we expect Gamboa, Christie, Kouassi and Morgan to perform against opposition that are way ahead of what Celtic face in the SPFLwhen they haven’t proven they can perform consistently for Celtic in the SPFL!!

  26. Fairhill Bhoy, I agree centre half or centre mid is ideal for a captain but he should still be trying to inspire the team. For me, he did not do that tonight.

    Once more sold short.

Successive managers and players don’t seem to mind letting them down like that.

  29. I am more relieved than upset, that we did not get a heavy defeat which is bad for morale.

Never like getting beaten, however in all honesty I did not think they were anything great nor Salzburg for that matter, if we are organised and up for it we can still get points.

Quite a few found wanting,dis-appointed in Nchamp, did not look motivated,in my opinion Morgan should not have played instead of Hayes, who is a tough customer and over the years gave us plenty of bother.

Should have been a defensive,go for a draw set up,BR reluctant it seems to think this way, which is a mistake.
