  1. But hey, what is the problem, we are the best ran team in scotland, nay the world as so many on here tells us, there is no problem, Pedro will ride to the rescue and make it all better, after all he is the bestest CEO we have ever had and we are so so lucky that he has demeaned himself to stay with us.

  2. Chris Sutton, when he is not at the wise-arse act, can speak a lot of sense about football. he spoke some home truths tonight.

We had 30 minutes of dogged competence and a reasonable defensive set up tonight, but that was followed by 30 minutes of collapse and “The Fear”, which left them 2:0 and comfortable. The final 30 minutes was a non-agression pact of a game. Funnily enough this lethargic 3rd period gave us our best chance of a goal, as they made a mistake being unused to this stuporific pace of a game.

One lazy swing of Kouassi’s leg which, in turn, deceived Boyata, left the diving Brazilian with an easy chance. They, then came on like Gangbusters and we came on like the Jellyfish Gang. It could easily have reached more than double the 2:0 score it was in the next half hour.

All the rarely seen players showed why they are rarely seen. Gamboa, who was really trying hard, overestimates his ability to recover using his speed. Going to ground like that, at the 2nd goal, took him out of the whole move. Kouassi tracked back slowly, and when it was crossed in front of him, he too went to ground and was out of commision. Boyata and Simunovic had not enough help tonight.

Both Christie and Morgan were brave tonight and always showing but each of them needs rapid improvement in 3 areas.

    1) Core Body strength- they were both easily muscled off the ball

    2) Ball protection tehnique- they do not give the ball enough protection when they have it.

    3) Decision making- Lewis needs to learn that the long distance shot is the rarely used “keep the defence honest” option; it is not the default one. Ryan needs to curtail the “Hollywood pass” tendency and make his game more direct and simpler.

I do not believe that 2:0 is a good result if it comes to a Head-to-head between Leipzig and ourselves. I cannot see us bettering that result at CP.

The keeper’s save from N’tcham really hurt us.

Despite expecting this result, it still hurts badly.

Sack Brendan and drop KT. Maybe Broony should go to Oz as he just cant be relied on.

    Wur doomed doomed.

Perhaps if the SFA appointed Wee Durranty as a community coach, Scottish psrcormances would improve in Europe.

Yeah a load of p!sh, but not as much p!sh as some of the keech Jacksun written on here tonight.

  4. I’m scunnered.

  8. Nye Bevans’ rebel soldier .we will win on sunday, cause we are playing a spl side, its European teams we canny beat.hh.

  9. why do the opposition players always appear to be more athletic, pacer, stronger, have better first touch and ball control , never hide always moving looking for a return pass , able to take corners and throw ins to their advantage than us , answers on a postcard.

  10. did nt see the first half , but the severe lack of urgency from the team in the second half is mind boggling !!!!! Even simple things like when we got a corner late in the game , no rush to take it . We could barely get in their penalty box yet we got a free kick in their half with about 10 mins to go did we try a big loopy high ball into the box n maybe get lucky ?…..nope we made about 3-4 passes and ended up back at Craig Gordon . That team make me want to scream at times . Blame the players yes but Brendan needs to step up , he simply is nt doing it and there is absoloutely no passion coming from him from the touchline . I The team in the second half seemed to settle for “just ” a 2 nil defeat………….something far wrong

If Gamboa, Kouassi and Morgan had been given some game time in the SPL it wouldn’t have been so hard for them tonight.

  12. Disappointing performance tonight but not unexpected.

There are definitely psychological issues which come into play after we go a goal behind in away ties in Europe. We don’t have the belief to come back, and as someone else mentioned earlier, we often lose another goal quickly which compounds the problem.

I’ve said it more than once.We need to employ the services of a sports psychologist, and I’m surprised that a ‘modern’ coach like Brendan hasn’t already done so.

Too many players seem to play like they don’t think we can come back after going behind, when we’ve done it often enough domestically. I know the level of opposition in Europe is way above what we’ll face domestically, but I don’t think Leipzig were anything special tonight, and if Edouard’s early chance had been converted, we might have seen a different performance tonight.

Another disappointing thing tonight, but equally unsurprising is the return of the ‘usual suspects’ on here who are posted missing after a good performance, whose only joy seems to be in criticising everything ‘Celtic’. I question why they seldom post after a good performance.

    Laters……

  13. Bobby!

It’s only 8.30pm. You should be in your kip. I thought you were night shift?

Did you see the game? No surprises I suppose. It’s still painful.

you know who I blame. For all I had a wee word with Kev the other night I agree with him more than I disagree with him. Our board are a disgrace.

I just don’t blame the fans in equal measure the way Kev does. There is no doubt that a boycott would get rid of the present lot. But there is no hunger for it. I gave my reasons.

Yeah the Huns deluded fools. But they are backing their team. Our support (did I write support). Are in large part a shower of fickle ingrates, spoilt with a tendency to reach for the self destruct button.

When Brendan’s Celtic have delivered a double treble, the whinge-o-meter is recalibrated to even higher levels.

  15. Bateen Bhoy, we do employ sports psychologists. But if you have ever began to look into that subject, it is so subjective to be almost meaningless.

I see it the same way.

Now the huns DO have good reason to stick it to their revolving door Board for at least the last ten years.

But do they ? To the same extent that we do ?

I don`t claim to be an expert , but they just don`t seem to.

Why not ? Whats the difference ?

Chip on the shoulder syndrome ?

    I wonder.

Number of fans who left 5-10 minutes to go at the Hibs game on Saturday – 3:00pm kick off – was abysmal. Must have been about 25k left in the stdium at the final whistle. Fekin part-timers!!

“we do employ sports psychologists. But if you have ever began to look into that subject, it is so subjective to be almost meaningless.”

If what you read was subjective then it was not Psychology, Sports or otherwise, it was just speculation.

There is a vast body of peer-reviewed, evidence based work which seperates out techniques which help from those that do not.

It is not like CQN – where everyone has a pet theory that they continue to believe in, no matter what the evidence says.
