  1. Ntcham is a ball playing midfielder, generally he likes to see the game in front of him and with good movement and willing runners can be highly effective. He can offer a bit of dig as well but as i say likes to play with the ball. To be most effective he needs to play in a midfield 3 and in a team that has a lot of possession. He is one of the midfielders that doesn’t fit the description of any of the typical three midfielder types, defensive, box to box and playmaker. This is why he is more effective in a 3 as opposed to a 2.

The downsides to his game are in the defensive side, positioning, knowing when to get goal side, sensing danger and matching runners. When space is limited and pressure is applied he is less effective, this is the same however for all midfield players but they all have their level.

A good signing and certainly a better player to have then not. He will never imo be a top midfield player and will likely be more effective in certain teams as opposed to others. Which kind of makes sense in a cyclical way because you build your team around top midfielders, you don’t need them to fit into the team.

Unlucky — but we didn’t work hard enough to deserve any.

Played well for 30 minutes with 10 men.

    CMcG — terrible performance.

    MIT,

my own option is, at least try and make a difference :)

My strategy is to find the organisation who grassed up the scum to the tax man and give them all the evidence that proves criminal fraud.

Then demand answers from our board as to why they refused to meet their legal requirements to protect shareholders interests, and failed to meet their own professional ethical codes as accountants and lawyers.

While there are rules about keeping footballing issues within the football jurisdiction, there are more binding criminal laws about refusing to reporting crime, which make those who refuse to report crime as either obstructing or an accomplice. There is no grey here.

I honestly think Brendan was watching a different game from us tonight.

    JG,

got to say I agree with BR in the main, thought we could have been winning earlier on, which may have went a couple of ways, either a gubbing for being cheeky or unsettling them.

I really thought, up to their goal, they were there for the taking, they never looked better than us, nor do I believe they looked that much better after their goals with their tails up. I seriously think we can turn them over at Celtic park. We’ll win all the games going forward if we can keep a few 1st team players fit and on the park.

The first goal tonight was brutal, as brutal as some of WIT’s racing tips even. Two Celtic players not prepared to put their bodies on the line to prevent that ball into the box. I’d expect that at any level of football and in recent years have seen better defending in some of the games I watched my boy play in.

    We are shite in defence.

WITs, they deleted my post to you re Aunt Pol. Ooor Mods have been to the Mary Whitehouse school of PC and know how to set a dinner service for twelve for a seven course dinner. Should come in handy sometime. I’ll give you a laugh re Aunt Pol next time I see you in Coais.

Sort out our defence Celtic or my shares will be devalued FFS.

  12. Canman

I thought we did look good enough till the goal. But get one against us in Europe and the second will v v often quickly follow. Serious glass chin. The basics desert us.

Much of the second half was simply us trying to clear our lines and punting straight to them.

We’ll need to seriously up our performance at CP to get the goals and points we need.

And despite what some may think, it pains me to say all that.

The boxing analogies, huh ? Seldom known a boxer rattled to be able to go on and win. Gang on yes, win and against a bigger opponent never.

Bigger in this context alludes to the first 30 minutes in which RedBull had the ascendency clearly and markedly.

  17. Canamalar it looks like OCD obsession on

    JG,

as you say half the second half was us clearing our lines and donating the ball to them and they still couldn’t get a third :)

They’re pish and our players have an inferiority complex that is supported by our excuse makers babbling shite about german/austrian and every other league being better because they get more telly money, its a pathetic excuse used to support the failure of bringing in decent quality of players.

  21. There is a view that Brendan’s signings at Celtic and Liverpool have shown a weakness in the player recruitment aspect of the game.

I just took a look at HITC’s evaluation of his last 7 Liverpool signings.

Of these, 3 are clear successes and still at the club. Even with the 4 non-successes, they are players playing well for other clubs or on the way back for Pool.

    The successes were:-

    Joe Gomez

    James Milner

    Robert Firmino

    all regulars in Klopp’s team

    The “failures” are :-

Nathaniel Clyne- still at Liverpool- missed a year with injury- understudy claimed the RB place

Danny Ings- Mostly injured- sold at a profit to S/hampton after his release

Christian Benteke- bought for £32m- sold to Palace for £27m with a £5m bonus due

Adam Bogdan- bought on a free as a back up keeper- loaned to Wigan and now Hibs

I don’t think that’s such a bad record in the transfer market, really.

  22. Canamalar it looks like OCD obsession on

    ACGR,

all three shares? could the £4.50 dwindle to the £1.50 purchase price :)

Now imagine if the board had protected our interests, whose to say the share price would not be worth £10.00 today?

I’ll tell you, no one, that’s the stupidity of capitalism :)

So when clowns babble about the share price being devalued, that is a failure to understand capitalism, it was not and never was argued to be, devalued, it was the failure to achieve its full potential and who is to tell any capitalist what the possible full potential can be, we might have won the European cup in 2012, we also might not have won it but the point is we were fraudulently swindled out of the chance.

  23. ACGR

Reckon it was a reflection aff Kolncelt’s hunner badge scarf fae the floodlights that started it. Some dude sparked a doobie, another sparked a pyro. Rest is history. Celtic fined for pyro.

There is a moral in that story. ?

DD, I’m missing my Celtic fix and trying to be not too critical now that I no longer go. But, that was a hard watch from the minute the first goal went in. As the big chap said, the minute the first went in you knew a second was coming and it did. Fair play to the team that we didn’t concede any more but it wasn’t pretty.
