Relentless pillage of transfer stories wearisome

News (confirmed by his club) that our next Champions League opponents Juventus have opened negotiations with Athletic Blibao striker Fernando Llorente, ahead of a possible free-transfer move in the summer, appears to put recent fantasy stories about Gary Hooper supposedly moving to Turin in the correct context.  Liverpool, who several newspapers also ‘reported’ were interested in Hooper, signed a different striker this week.

The relentless pillage of Celtic player’s names used to sell newspapers is wearisome, probably more so to those at the club hoping to convince Hooper, and Victor Wanyama, to sign new contracts.  Chances of re-signing Hooper if he thinks Juventus and Liverpool are about to bid for him: 0%. Chances if it’s relegation battlers from England: considerably higher. I see a new front has been opened today on Beram. We have to ensure another 28 days of this nonsense.

Llorente is a current Spanish international and played a huge part in Atheltic’s march to the Europa League final last season, but I would not be too concerned if Juventus tried to secure him this month.  Moving to Turin is notoriously challenging for strikers and Llorente has never been based outside of the Basque country.

    BTW, my wee tub is attracting serious interest from tyre kickers and theives. My insurance is due on 18th Jan and marina fees in March. If I dont get a buyer by then I’ll put her back on the loch and get on with catching yon auld pike. I’m still owed a game of golf at the carrick from my young bro and that monster chomper is still elluding me. I’ll see what come my way in this new and bright year.     I think Paul67 would be an excellent Leader.

     

     

    The establishment is being dismantled, it takes time. The shocking performances of the Referees is a desperate act by people who know their time is up, IMO.

     

     

    When we revolutionise the game here, would you want any of the current Referees in charge? It is a no brainer.

     

     

    There are excellent Referees ready to break through just like there are Brilliant young players ready to break through if they are protected by the Referees.

     

     

     

    Shocking Mortal Kombat Footage but this is what is needed to the whole establishment before the level playing field will be enabled, the gaming footage and my thinking is metaphorical, obviously.

    Listen closely to Neil, they will have to pay absolute TOP $ to even get the Celts to contemplate selling at this stage. Celtic, if they are going to sell anyone, will sell in the first week. Gary is a £12M asset right now IMO. He comes alive in the Biggest of games as long as he is FIT.

     

     

    It is £25M for Victor and that will probably drop to 19 by the Summer. FFS what a drop. ;))

    Was having a quick read back after driving my son to Edinburgh Airport.

     

     

    Seems that one of the ‘moonhowlers’, namely neganon2, pays £600 a year to watch “rubbish” and be exploited by the evil DD.

     

     

    I never quite understand this attitude. I, too, have a season ticket – as does my son, but I don’t see this ‘rubbish’ of which he writes. My team are in the last 16 in the Champions League and are doing ok at home, too. I sometimes buy a bovril and a pie, and that might be regarded as ‘exploitation’, as I am charged for these before being allowed to consume them. Perhaps neganon2 can point me to another club who provide free refreshments for their supporters.

     

     

    It seems to me that there are other places to watch football in Glasgow. I know of at least one third division club where the season tickets are slightly cheaper than at Celtic and where those who criticise our club are celebrated. I understand that they hold many world records and have a chairman and CEO who work for free and who aren’t interested in shares or profits. They probably just like the fresh air and a wee walk now and again. And a sing song.

     

     

    Perhaps some people ought to consider which club they want to support.
