Rest Rogic through the international break

The goal Livingston scored to defeat Celtic in September was their solitary strike in a run of six games.  Since then, form has bounced, they won 0-3 at St Johnstone, 2-3 at Ross County and drew 1-1 at home to Dundee United.  Notwithstanding that, I expect a backlash from Celtic tomorrow that goes someway to resolving the awful performance we put in at the Plastic Pasta Pitch.

Not so long ago, the persistent rain that has fallen on Scotland this week, would turn pitches into quagmires, unfit for precision passing.  By contrast, a soaking Easter Road on Wednesday could hardly be more accommodating to Celtic’s fast passing style.  Celtic Park should be equally accommodating tomorrow.

Although Tom Rogic was instrumental to the best of our performance against Hibs, there is no reason to risk his hamstring so soon.  Resting him for the trip to Hungary and then to Dens Park next weekend, would be enough to keep him from globetrotting with Australia during the subsequent international break.

We return from that break to a League Cup semi-final and a relentless run of fixtures ahead of the winter break.  A bit of squad management with Tom right now makes sense.

    I see that others have beaten me to it on here…as Big Ange should try and play with ” TWIN STRIKERS”..( Big GIO and Kyogo ) thru the middle against Livvy later today and beyond, especially with Tam Rogic being out injured for a possible 2/3 weeks ?

    Lying in bed contemplating the day ahead and another Celtic game to savour. The inviting scent of square sausage and bacon fills the air as my good lady calls out her customary 5-minute warning.

    With regards to the introduction of var , My own opinion is that it will be welcomed and may well lessen the helping hand afforded to the mob across the city ,BUT and it’s a huge BUT people with honesty and integrity must be found to officiate on the decisions , none of the usual suspects former referee,s who have followed the same rules as refs of the past and present .

    All’s well down here….just! Fields are totally flooded but all the 4 legged friends are well. The donkeys have all been inside all week and are champing at the bit to get out.

     

    We had a bit of a scare with your namesake last month. He was lying down in the morning and wouldn’t get up. Vet arrived and couldn’t do anything with him. Second vet arrived and for 2-3hours they tried but made no difference. Things didn’t look too good, but we eventually got him to his feet and after one enormous fart he was as good as gold. I’m sure we’ve all had that feeling! He’s been in fine fettle ever since.

     

    Today we’re expecting delivery of a 19 year old, 17 hand, Warmblood horse called Bob from Liverpool – Long ( sob) story. He’s going to make Big Jimmy look like Tiny Tim!

    The appointment of Bernard Higgins by @CelticFC could be the last straw for a number of Celtic fans. This man systematically ruined the lives of young Celtic fans whose only crime was following their club. The chasm between club and fans will never be wider if this takes place.
