Ronny wasting his breath

731

Ronny Deila is wasting his breath when trying to warn those who throw pyrotechnics that they damage Celtic’s reputation. That fact is already well established but is irrelevant to those for whom throwing pyrotechnics is part of their football experience.

There is a clash of culture here. ‘The Man’, whether that be Uefa or the Health & Safety Executive, forbids pyrotechnics at football, but the consequences are visited on Celtic, not those who bring the pyrotechnics. No one has been brave enough to put their name to the pyrotechnic culture and I suspect no one ever will.

The last 24 hours has been a huge success for this unclaimed culture; it managed to grab some of the little space alongside the David Bowie news on Radio 5Live this morning, and many other places, adding fuel to the fire, if you pardon the pun. Someone is glowing with an “I did that” sense of achievement, although, of course, he’d never say so openly. It will continue unless the consequences are moved away from Celtic.

Blantyretim. Re: waghorn – I too noticed the blatant puff piece on BBC news.

The strong likelihood is this has come from BBC sport Scotland who will have been asked to provide a segment for the national sports update.

A truly disgraceful (and unprecedented) piece of transfer fee puffery.

*aye and he’ll go the same way that warbo and sevco’s last transfer went. Still husnae kicked a ball yet.

I rarely post so I don’t mean to hassle you but when I was young Leeds used to be a big club with a horrible support and they always used to say, no one likes us and we don’t care (bit like the dead club), I have usually found that most independent people do see the Celtic support as different to the dead club, just wanted it to stay that way.

    Anyone got the stats.

The most predictable thing is sevco financial basket case fc getting a home draw. Again.

  11. The draw in reverse order:

The fifth round ties will be played on the weekend of 6/7 February.

    Hearts v Hibernian

    Dumbarton v Dundee or Falkirk

    Annan Athletic v Greenock Morton

Dunfermline Athletic or Ross County v Forfar Athletic or Linlithgow Rose

    Dundee United v Partick Thistle

East Kilbride Thistle or Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale v Celtic

Motherwell v Inverness Caledonian Thistle or Stirling Albion

Certainly can’t accuse the SFA of favouritism anyway – getting a player from a club that doesn’t exist anymore to do the draw…..

  13. Both clubs have capacities of 500 and 1000 so no chance of hosting the matches at their own grounds. A switch to CP or to Tynecastle or Easter Road likely. depending on who goes through.

That’s 17 of last 19 Scottish Cup ties since 2009/2010 we have been drawn away from home – though I’m not much bothered this time (sorry Jobo – even if you get past the mighty Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale !)

LTHV’s home pitch is round the corner from me and there is no chance of Saughton Enclosure hosting a Celtic game. No seating or terracing never mind a stand. Couple of hundred standing max.

  17. Anybody handy to go round and check TBB & jobo see if they need any help getting aff the ceiling :))))))))

Radar Jackson on RS – first question to LG – how important is it to win the treble! So predictable.

  19. Thanks for responses.

Staggering statistical anomalies. Still they even themselves out….. So the next 17 out of 19 sure to be home draws for the hoops….

    Aye right…..
