Ronny wasting his breath

731

Ronny Deila is wasting his breath when trying to warn those who throw pyrotechnics that they damage Celtic’s reputation. That fact is already well established but is irrelevant to those for whom throwing pyrotechnics is part of their football experience.

There is a clash of culture here. ‘The Man’, whether that be Uefa or the Health & Safety Executive, forbids pyrotechnics at football, but the consequences are visited on Celtic, not those who bring the pyrotechnics. No one has been brave enough to put their name to the pyrotechnic culture and I suspect no one ever will.

The last 24 hours has been a huge success for this unclaimed culture; it managed to grab some of the little space alongside the David Bowie news on Radio 5Live this morning, and many other places, adding fuel to the fire, if you pardon the pun. Someone is glowing with an “I did that” sense of achievement, although, of course, he’d never say so openly. It will continue unless the consequences are moved away from Celtic.

When you said : ” I took a judgement from what I saw on BBC…” , did you really mean that your judgement was based on what the BBC DECIDED to show?

Going to be a tough 2016. Best wishes to all on here regardless.

  5. EKBHOY-TBB- surely they could have let the rearranged game to get played on a Saturday, and let both EL & Lothian try and make a bit of money?i I know about a dozen guys who were going on Saturday as we were playing on Sunday.

  6. JEES the draw takes a wee bit of the sparkle of the week-end happenings with flares, bombs. and the brown stuff…..alas according to Bill Leckie of the daily sun.. the sectarian stuff was still coming out of the stands from the family section….just wondering if he was the only sports reporter at ipox yesterday or are his ears bigger than norm. No mention of the bile from BBC shortbread either…..guess they had the todays draw in mind..and had been tipped off… to say nice things.

I think the best way for the current custodians to maintain their current gravy train without fear of losing control is an away Bhoycott. Has to be. Solves the GB “problem” and the EK/LT ground problem too. But then again it wont work if youre really just a bunch of self serving greedy lying parasites. oh wait…..

  8. If EK get past Lothian Vale then that in itself will be history in the making for my other team, being in the last 16 for the first time in their short history (not as short as some otehr teams that are still in the competition).

Clearly, the game can’t take place at the K-Park. On the other hand I’m totally against, in principle, switching the tie completely around – so I hope it isn’t moved to Celtic Park. Bearing in mind the intetest that will be generated here in the town there’s every chance that EK will have a 4-figure number of fans. Given that Motherwell have been given a home tie the choice seems to be New Douglas Park or Hampden.

If it’s financial, then Hampden it has to be. But as New Douglas Park has a 4G surface, as has the K-Park, then for fotballing reasons Hamilton’s ground might be an attractive option.

But I think EK would be more than happy to have reached the last 16 if they can then get a share of a 15,000 – 20,000 gate so Hampden it is!

Genuinely, I would rather EK and Celtic had been kept apart. Well, until the final ;-)

Astonishing though the 16 Away 2 Home record is, I think the Draw would have been considered more of a fix had we got Kilmarnock at Home and Sevco had EK or Lothian.

Does anyone know the combined Draw history for Ranger & Sevco over the same period?

  10. Stairheed………… I agree with you, but why give them an open goal.

Again, I agree with you but we are up against the most sleekit of spinners

and we should be match-fit by now not to make it easier for the many opponents we face.

At Stranraer we did, and it sticks in the craw.

You make a good point, we will never win with the SMSM and the Polis. However, that’s where we should be different, not giving them any ammunition. When I saw the pictures from yesterday I cringed. Stupid wee boys thinking they are big boys. I do not think it is coincidence that the immature actions took place in a small stadium. A chance to make a statement be seen on the Telly. It was a joke and amateurish.

Not that have I much time for pyrotechnics but if you want to make a statement with them, then do so in a game that means something, in a big stadium, in a meaningful game against a meaningful opponent.

Yesterday’s actions were cringeworthy and embarrassing, especially the ULTRAS screen, it was all disproportionate to the statement they were trying to make, the size of the stadium and the stature of the opponents.

Big Gordon64 and Voguepunter have slagged me on here after I had a pair of Trainers ruined at a game at Firhill last season but they could do someone an injury.

I don’t agree with a lot our Board do at the moment but they are right to take the action they have thus far. They have only suspended the three Fans at the moment until an investigation is completed. If the evidence is conclusive then they should be sin died.

Let’s not give the SMSM, the Polis and the establishment a hand, they are doing a grand job themselves in putting us down at every opportunity.

    Keep the Faith!

    Hail Hail!

I am not sure what the competition rules are these days however in 1995/1996 season we were drawn against Whitehill Welfare and they switched their home tie against us to Easter Road,

I would doubt that the home advantage can be reversed but I imagine our opponents will be looking at a big pay day at some alternative venue.

*I believe your right Gordon and the ties can’t be reversed….unless it’s sevco involved!!!!

A lot of you guys are getting reeled in by this bull, the flares were a daft idea but made no difference to what the media had planned for us, almost as soon as the game finished we had Sky, BBC Sevco, the DR and Polis Scotland all firing off the sectarian lies. Contrast that with th bigot show at Ibrox last week, it took till Thursday for the BBC to mention it and still no plus statement. Flares or no flares we are being played.

If you present the above usual suspects with an open goal, they are not going to miss.

  19. Not a peep in the SMSM about this, taken from the Greenock Telegraph.

Morton chairman Douglas Rae has hit out at the Rangers fans who he says hurled objects including a Buckfast bottle into the away section at Ibrox a fortnight ago.

According to the Golden Casket chief, items including coins, pies, golf balls and the tonic wine container all rained down on the Ton travelling support as their side claimed a surprise 2-2 draw in Govan.

Writing in his programme notes for the match with Raith, he said: “Regrettably we were unable to hold onto our lead when Rangers equalised with five or six minutes of the match remaining.

“It was still a wonderful day, one which I am sure will be fondly remembered for a long, long time. Our match with Rangers was the first match at Ibrox this season that Rangers did not win.

“Regrettably, some Rangers fans were not at all pleased and resorted to pelting the Morton fans with coins, pies, Bovril, and even golf balls.

“In addition, a Buckfast bottle was hurled into the Morton section which missed a young Morton fan by inches. That was a sad end to an exciting match.”

Chief executive Gillian Donaldson confirmed the club had contacted Rangers and Police Scotland regarding the incidents in question.

She told the Tele: “We were contacted by a couple of supporters regarding incidents that took place during the Rangers game. We followed them up with both Police Scotland, who are investigating the matter, and Rangers, who have advised that they are reviewing procedures.

“We, as a club, have also offered any help and support we can to them regarding the incidents.”t this, taken from the Greenock Telegraph.

sevco v knights templar – relegation fodder and bankruptcy contenders

wonder what one will be televised – bigot fest of course

2 issues going on here, dafties with flares who need to grow up, and a planned and organized spin campaign. One we can deal with in house, how do we work on the other one?

  22. Im still trying to figure out, how some in the Scottish Meeja canny hear the sevco mob singing the billy boys, but can hear flares and bangers.

    Funny that eh.

  23. What a draw for E/k. Hoping it will be switched to Hamilton Accies. As Jobo stated purely to keep it on an artificial pitch. If played at Hampden I fear a double digit rout as the pitch is too big for part time players.

Although I wouldn’t mind seeing my bhoy run out at Paradise if that was an option. Oh well they will have to hold the mighty Celts to a draw and replay at CP. now that would be a dream come true.

    Hail Hail to all CQN’ers

Easy. You do not contribute one thin dime to them.

You do not give them any credence by reading or watching or listening to them.

    Dead simple really.

To try and inject a bit of humour (hopefully), there was a big banner behind guy fawkes guys saying Castlemilk Bhoys. Could it be our most famous Castlemilk resident and poster know who some of the guy fawkes gang are?

The SMV, style mile vandals, may have been responsible for yesterday. They stand now in the north west corner of the Celtic End. I was told they were the ones throwing flares on Istanbul but I could be wrong.

  26. Alasdair MacLean on

On BBC Reporting Scotland the “report” on sectarian singing was quoting a Police Scotland Statement of “all day singing sectarian songs” or a similarly vague generalisation. . That’s the way I picked it up. So, anyone asking Police Scotland to be more specific I wonder.

  27. How remiss of me, E/K still have to beat Lothian Thistle first. Matthew away to training didn’t see his feet touch the ground as he floated out the door.

  28. The flares thing is not good but the (sectarian/offensive ‘bollocks’) singing has to be challenged if the songs were about history.

I believe the fans groups have to either ALL agree and approach Celtic to issue a statement or more fans will give up attending.

I think now we are nearing the appearance of a new club/same bigots to the ‘prem near you’ its hitting home that what we thought were legal cases/ admin/liquidation & them being fecked might not br happeing quick enough.

I didnt go and didnt watch the game against them & wont go in future.

I hope some key moment will happen but……
